Hi all, its interesting to read about everyones thought on age-appropriate clothes. When I had my first baby almost 10 years ago I completely lost my identity and just didn't feel comfortable in any of my clothes but couldn't figure out a new style. It took quite a long time for me to figure it all out again. I suppose what we wear represents who we are in a way? So, do you think beige trousers represents who you are Cherries? Im guessing not, you seem way cooler, so go wild and wear what you want!

My workmates think I dress quirky, and they are right, I do! Sometimes I nail it, other times I realise that I look a bit daft (or my workies tell me!). Either way its fine, and always remember they are just clothes. Be as experimental as you like!!!

Just digging out my leopard coat to have a try on (stopping myself from lusting over the Boden one). This is actually a little more ‘furry’ than it looks in the photo but is subtle enough that it can be dressed down quite well I think.
I’ve only worn it a handful of times since o bought it two years ago, definitely going to give it more outage this autumn.
DH raised his eyebrows when he saw me digging it out (I was wearing my leopard print leggings at the time) and remarked that while he likes my new leggings he felt the leggings and the coat together were a step too far Grin
Re the M & S leggings, had them on all day and no stretch or baggy knees so a good review from me.

Please excuse the chinos which don't at all go with the coat (although they are Hush and I love them too)

dontcallmelen · 18/08/2018 19:09

Been out all day at IKEA with dd, just catching up you all look brilliant in all the new pics, yy dress for how you want not what you feel others want, I’m late fifties & dress in what suits me which is usually quite fitted/tailored stuff with an odd bit of fifties style dress , I’m an odd shape & very short & want to dress in things that make me happy.
If anyone on the lookout for some nice black trousers, I got a high waisted cigarette length, with nice neat pockets in the seam from Topshop for £22.00

Ellapaella · 18/08/2018 19:09

Love it@Vintage1980
Such a new coat, looks great.

Lovely coats👍🏼

Ellapaella · 18/08/2018 19:11

It needs a night out in a fancy restaurant and a champagne bar! Does it make you feel like going out to party?

Thanks Ella in reality my lovely fur coat will do the school run on non-work days and flounce about town for coffee. I feel I ought to confess I have a fabulous short fake fur from about 6 years ago that is more of a "going-out" fur but I hardly ever get to wear it.
I think this Hush one will get loads more use.
Also on the practical side it has a lovely high neck which is a big plus for me as I find if my neck is snug I stay much warmer.

Ellapaella · 18/08/2018 19:22

It's gorgeous. Wish I could afford it! It looks so warm. I bet you can't wait for the cooler weather to wear it now!

Hellooo from the Norfolk coast! Where it’s warm and sunny even this late, wearing my Greek widow Alana accessorised with long necklace, denim jacket and Storm Trooper boot, about to go to dinner with DH and DSInlaw visiting from Scotland.

Love love all the pics!
Will comment tomorrow when I have time to do so properly but sooo glad I ordered the M&S leggings now seeing how lovely you look in them ella

And vintage fabulous fabulous fur Coat, looking forward to receiving mine (on back order) still not sure whether to leave the 12 on order or change to a 14...

Must dash! You all rock your looks!
😍😍😍

If anyone would like a £10 off a £30 spend at Boden I have a voucher that needs to be used by midnight. I'm not going to use it myself so happy to PM it to someone who can make use of it. Other than the coat there's nothing grabbing me at the moment.

ilovecherries · 18/08/2018 20:15

Your coat is lovely, Ella. I think I may prefer it to the Boden one.

Ellapaella · 18/08/2018 20:42

Thanks @ilovecherries - yes on reflection I think I do too. It's a little more subtle. I'm making a promise to myself to wear it a lot more this autumn.

I can't believe this thread is moving so fast!
I'm home from holidays and ready to embrace my autumn wardrobe Grin
Although having said that I'm taking DS2&3 to London on Tuesday/Wednesday for a theatre trip and it's going to be sunny and 26 degrees. So thankfully more opportunities to wear some Hush summer items.

And talking of which, I will have to persuade the kids to go to John Lewis in Oxford St so I can check out the Hush new arrivals in person. We don't live anywhere near a JL so this is a rare chance! Will report back.

DavetheCat2001 · 19/08/2018 10:04

@Ellapaella could I nab your Boden voucher please?

I may have to order that coat!

Where is yours from btw?

DavetheCat2001 · 19/08/2018 10:22

Oooh I've actually just found a 20% off code which will save nearly £40!!

I am so tempted just to try it on....😇

Ellapaella · 19/08/2018 10:29

Happy birthday Mini Dave! Who is perhaps photo bombing Mum's picture?
@DavetheCat2001 I'm really sorry but it expired at midnight last night! I'll PM it to you anyway you can try it.
My coat is from TopShop two years ago. The Boden one is beautiful.

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 19/08/2018 10:33

Have PM'd you Dave

OP posts:
DavetheCat2001 · 19/08/2018 10:36

Oops! Hadn't seen mini Dave there!

No worries re the voucher ella. I've used the 20% off one.

I'm so naughty.. really can't afford it. OH will not be impressed!

EachandEveryone · 19/08/2018 11:05

Boden is really boring isnt it? They must think we are fools with those prices.

Is there anything in Hush suitable for a pub wedding do you think?

Laska5772 · 19/08/2018 11:33

what about the Skylar dress in the sale? each it has 'wedding' written all over it!
