Andrew Parker Bowles is certainly no looker.

Ooh, I remember reading about Princess Anne and Andrew PB. I’ve always thought him an unappealing chap, looks-wise. But apparently he was the hottest of totty in those circles at the time. Mind you, they keep their circle pretty small. So weird that he and Camilla were seeing Charles and Anne then married each other instead. Rumour was that Camilla dated Charles way back purely to make APB jealous because she wanted to marry him. It worked. Received history is that Charles ditched her because she wasn’t appropriate princess material but maybe she was calling her own shots all along.

And Andrew PB is Catholic, I think, and that would have presented a problem for him marrying Anne at the time.

Nah he ditched her cos he was going to sea for 8 months. They'd only been together about 6 months and she was still officially with APB throughout, but he was billeted in NI for a while so they were on a break and she was free to see other people. APB had been a total cad but she was still crazy about him.

So Charles got an opportunity to date her, but then he was being sent away to sea for ages, and he was only 22 anyway, so apparently he never said anything serious to her.

Meanwhile APB got wind of C dating Camilla, clearly thought "fuck, better batten down those hatches", and once transferred back to England promptly proposed. This was only about 3 months after Charles left for sea.

She had been dating APB for SEVEN YEARS (!!!) by this stage so was very relieved and said yes pronto.

Apparently her mother was very dubious of the marriage as he was pretty shitty as a boyfriend. He was even shittier as a husband.

And one of Camilla’s grandchildren is also named Louis. They are all intertwined.

APB married again after Camilla but I think his wife has since died. He and Camilla seem to be on good terms these days. He is no looker for sure, wasn't in his youth either, but maybe he's good in bed!

I remember Tim Laurence walking to some event rather than traveling with the family. It did look as if he had just walked from home.

There were rumours too that Camilla went after Charles as revenge for APB having an affair with Anne.

I have read that everyone likes Camilla, she is supposed to be a lot of fun. She certainly looks like she is never far from laughing. I watched a clip somewhere where she was stifling giggles as was Charles which I thought was quite funny and quite telling about their relationship.

2up - not stylish as in up to date or fashionable or appearing to care what she is wearing, but she picked pieces that stood the test of time and look good on her (and her alone, perhaps, as QueenoftheAndals says). Maybe 'a classic look' conveys my thoughts better.

This is a strange marriage right? Rumours that she even tried to run away before the wedding?!

The Monaco grand dames were absolutely vile to her. She was a socially awkward foreigner who couldn't even speak French.

And then there were lots of rumours Albert had been unfaithful etc. He has an illegitimate child and all that jazz.

Between both I don't blame her for running.

But she's been a lot happier since having kids. And she seems to get on well with old Al, actually.

Not easy to marry into any of these families is it? I have always felt sorry for her. I find her rather wonderful and so pleased when she had the twins (like me!).

Charlene looks incredible. She is so minimalistic her jewellery. I remember reading the Swedes weren't impressed for Madeleine's wedding when C turned up without a tiara. I think it looks like there's a face lift scar behind her ear.

I was going to say that she looks ageless but I never though about a facelift. She is stunning though, a real clothes horse.

Well she's no stranger to surgery. There was a hilarious story from the wedding. They brought out a coin with her profile. Her plastic surgeon was quoted saying "They should have put my signature on that coin"

On another note, The Royal Order of Sartorial Splendour has flashback photos of Peter and Autumn Phillips' wedding. Those bridesmaids dresses didn't seem to fit any of them, did they? Being strapless, in the group photo, one of the bridesmaids looks like she's turned up naked!

I think Princess Charlene ( that sounds wrong) has had too much 'work' done.

He has two illegitimate children. Which I think was news to Charlene rather late in the day.

I don’t think she has had “work” done. Her nose is the same for example. Her hair is very short now and she is much more polished and groomed.

The Monaco thing was very strange and Charlene looked utterly miserable on their wedding day, such a contrast to William and Kate, who'd got married earlier in the year.

If the stories about her trying to escape and having her passport seized are true then it's horrific. She seems happier since having the twins but I'm pretty sure theirs is a marriage in name only.

Agree @Clionba, I just had a look and the bridesmaid dresses are pretty but not really suited for anyone with a large bust. And Zara's tan lines! Autumn's dress was lovely though.

Interesting that it says in the blog that Kate attended by herself as William was at another wedding. Surely his cousin's wedding would've taken priority?
