*love

Nettletheelf · 26/07/2018 19:08

The sunglasses are Tom Ford (Megan’s, not Nacho’s)

(Who is even called Nacho?)

delphguelph · 26/07/2018 19:15

Uh huh Queen, Nacho is indeed easy on the eye. I thought i recognized him from the Polo Sport aftershave ads and it is indeed the same Nacho.

delphguelph · 26/07/2018 19:18

God yes I forgot about the heat she must have been baked in that dress! It was windy, at least?

TheCraicDealer · 26/07/2018 19:36

This Instagram post made me think of this thread Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/07/2018 22:29

Re the denim dress, perhaps it was lighter weight denim than it looked. And being Californian, maybe Meghan is used to the heat!

Ladies; ! Wink

2up2manydown · 27/07/2018 01:08

Is no-one else surprised by how spendy Meghan is with her wardrobe? Very expensive outfits for every occasion and rarely a British brand - why? Surely supporting the British economy is one of their primary functions.

Quantumblue · 27/07/2018 01:45

I think the denim dress looks really good on Meghan. Agree that for a self confessed 'humanitarian' she has really hit the shops hard.
Why doesn't she find and promote a few up and coming British designers?

Clionba · 27/07/2018 07:10

George is right! It does actually fit! She looks great and should wear this style more. I agree with people above - Meghan's spending a lot and not on UK brands. I've been amazed at the cost of some of her (not particularly flattering) outfits.

skippy67 · 27/07/2018 07:30

Meghan was a millionaire before she married Harry. So no, I'm not surprised at how "spendy" she is.

Laiste · 27/07/2018 07:43

Delfina Blaquier must be pretty tall. Meghan's in her high heels and Delfina's in her flats and D's still nearly a head taller in that red carpet shot.

Nettletheelf thanks for the glasses info.

It would be nice to think that Meghan would chose to dress only with regard for her new role (British design), however she's got her own money - she gets to spend it how she pleases i guess. I'm torn on this one.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/07/2018 07:49

Meghan’s dress is quite a light chambray, so probably more like a heavy cotton. Carolina Herrera really suits her but agree she should wear more British brands. Was also wonder how she managed to walk across the grass in stilettos. By the prizegiving, they were looking a bit muddy.

Also she does walk conscious ( understandably) that she is going to be photographed at any time.Hand in pocket; thumb out is very catwalk.

Clionba · 27/07/2018 08:40

Grass in stilettos, my thoughts too! She does look great.
Her money, her choices, but she's in a particular role now. I remember in the early days of Diana Fergie, there were accusations of conspicuous consumption. Perhaps more UK brands? I like the way she wore those Welsh trousers, and the Strathberry handbags.

Laiste · 27/07/2018 08:56

It's possible to do but not fun. I remember walking about on the grass in cream satin stilettos for photos on my wedding day making sure i didn't sink in. God my calves ached by the end of the afternoon Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/07/2018 09:16

@CurlyWurlyTwirly that's made my day! I think Nacho was at their wedding wasn't he? And there's just something about men in polo gear...

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/07/2018 09:22

Maybe Meghan is looking at all Kate's coat dresses made by British designers and thinking thanks but no thanks! Although the McQueen tux and Stella M caped dress and reception gown are three of her best outfits.

I do like Carolina Herrera's designs. Renee Zellweger used to wear her a lot but she keeps a much lower profile these days so CH has been a bit out of the limelight. And CH herself is incredibly chic with her signature look of crisp white shirts paired with full or ball gown skirts. Quite similar to Meghan's own personal style I guess.

Hmm maybe that's it - perhaps Meghan hasn't yet found a British designer who properly fits her aesthetic?

Letizia wears quite a lot of Carolina Herrera. Maybe Meghan's just trying to find her working style. I would just be cautious about appearing too spendy in that situation though.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 27/07/2018 10:08

I'm not always a fan of Meghan's choices (prefer Kate's - unpopular I know Grin) but I think this one is lovely. I've got a chambray type cotton dress this year and it's not too heavy/hot.

Amazed she managed to keep sweat marks from forming under arms though in this weather, that fabric shows up damp v easily or is that just me?!

I do think for v formal occasions she should be in British designers. Don't mind the rest of the time.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/07/2018 11:49

Meghan should definitely do more crisp white shirts with a belted midi skirt like Rania / Letizia/ Mary. It would give her more shape.
She can do the long sleeves folded back which is her signature look.
There must be plenty of British high street labels which do good quality separates. I just think spending 2 grand on a summer dress is insane.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/07/2018 11:51

@Queen the polo gear is hawt!
In the pre match lineup, Nacho looked great. I wish Harry & William would button their casual jackets more.
I thought it was hilarious Mke Tindall was wearing an identical outfit o Harry at the polo. (Shoes were too black & shiny. He needed suede)
