Shop sending very big hugs, that’s really horrid. Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today. X

Oh no shop, poor minishop, hope he’s feeling better today. And poor you having to deal with it all. Not what you want on holiday. Hope your DF is doing ok. It is horrible to be so far away but ta least he’s in the right place. Glad your day bag has been a success.sounds like you have a good holiday wardrobe this year. I re,never last year you felt it was a bit hot for somewhere dpd the more fitted items you took.

I like that reed linen Marant dress marsha. I think I’ve seen it recommended on a fashion blog as well.

Nice blouses too mara. Did you need to stand in front of the fan to try on the tweed jacket Grin.

I had to go into town this week for a meeting. I love seeing what people wear in this heat. I think everyone was struggling as it was just so hot, no one seemed to have cracked it. I wore my new needle and thread broderie anglaise dress. It’s a lovely dress but for some reason it has a polyester lining instead of cotton Hmm which did make it a bit hot but not too bad.

Got another BBQ today. It’s a lot cooler than it has been after the rain last night. There have been some beautiful sunsets over the last few weeks and typically when it was the ‘blood moon’ it was so cloudy you couldn’t see anything.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Longislandicetee · 28/07/2018 09:22

Morning! I have had such a busy week. Shop you poor thing, your yesterday sounded horrendous between your dad, dh and miniShop. What a nightmare! I hope today is much better for you. X

Loved looking at the links. Marsha, the dress is fab although i would never have picked it for you! If i was tall, i would try something like that too.

Mara, i loved the blouse, again would love to wear something like that. I can't say anything about the tweed since i have a well known aversion to most tweed! GrinGrinGrin

Also loved the Accessorize beach bag that was linked. I have one that's very similar to it, but think this one's nicer. How often do people change beach bags? We have probably had ours for about 3/4 years and it's in good condition, so can't really justifying changing it on a whim!

My favourite accessory this week has been my Giselle bag which is heavy but goes with everything.

We go on holiday in 3 weeks time, so beginning to think about what I might wear for holiday, will be looking to see if i can pick up some last minute bargains. All the kids activities are done for the at so it's fantastic to be lounging about on a Saturday morning before I do a little bit of exercise.

I have been thinking of you this week Blair, it's just been so hot at night. Hope you're okay.

DryWhiteagainW · 28/07/2018 09:54

Picked these up in the sale last week. Couldn’t resist (you all know me now) .....wore last night with white Baxter’s and a printed chiffon halter neck top and on Thursday with my fav body con LBD with gold statement necklace and zip at back for dinner with DH. I just adore heels. And a bargain.

I’m loving watching summer fashion Everyone. A lot of really well dressed people round here. So many pretty dresses. At S FR party almost all of the men wore smart shorts, loafers and linen shirts, the Brits nailed it, love that look.

OP posts:
DryWhiteagainW · 28/07/2018 09:59

At S FR party a lot of men wearing liberty print shirts too.......obv a thing at the moment. I do find it hard dressing DH (remember he has NO clue apart from for work suits). His smart/cas is jeans/chinos with check/pattern/white shirt or polo.......this seems to be man uniform for any bloke 30-70 Shock so boring. My DF wears the same. Keep looking at GQ and Pinterest for ideas. He did look good at the party .....Ralph L navy fitted shorts, white le cotton shirt (sleeves rolled up) brown suede loafers.
I think as women we have a lot more options and fun with clothes.

Everyone your dress sounds lovely, annoying they did that with the lining

Dry fabulous shoes, great buy

Blingy can't wait for the holiday too

Shop argh what a night. How are things?

Ok Dh is making me doubt the Marant dress as he said 'Spanish dancer' and too flouncy. Not sure, I love the colour (did I mention that ;) and the linen

And also need a bit of help on NAP order, will link

MarshaBradyo · 28/07/2018 12:47

Markus Lupfer jumper, really nice. It doesn't matter I already have two blush / pink jumpers? I've always loved pink and red together

Pretty much a perfect t shape for me Anthony Melillo. A little bit see-through but I can fix with the right thing underneath

And really out there for me, as so so pretty this Giambattista Valli blouse. It is unbelievably pretty and beautiful but hopefully not too romantic?

Not quite sure what I'd wear with it yet, any suggestions greatly appreciated

kittyhello · 28/07/2018 14:23

Shop Flowers you're coping with a lot at the moment, poorly df, ds and self -inflicted dh, how's ds feeling now? Poor thing. xx

Just had a big catch up read and am loving the purchases

Which Boden dress did you go for Every?

Great blouse Mara and beautiful Rixos dress

Marsha I can't find the red dress everyone is commenting on, could you link it again please? A bit late to the game but we have a Miele dishwasher from JohnLewis and it's fine. Stack it right and you can fit a lot in there.

Blingy I use a le Pliage as a beach bag but all this talk about beach bags is making me want a more traditional one.

Dry I'm loving the sounds of your outfits, you should put pics on here, minus your head of course, I need some inspiration.

Bernice glad to see you back on here

Fairy I love your JCrew purchases, naturally. That cover up has been on my wish list for a while, is it see through?

Lib big hugs you sound super busy, was the move to NZ a chance for you to step off the gas a bit? Although I do understand when there are bills to be paid it's easier said than done. Flowers

Blair not long now, do you have a name?

As for me, no fashion news to report although i'm very glad I bought the cheap and cheerful H&M dresses, they've been a godsend in this heat along with the linen Cora shorts and my Boden tees.

shopafrolic · 28/07/2018 15:05

Thanks all. Sorry to moan but this is my safe place.
WiFi here is slow so hard to see links.
Marsha I’m having second thoughts about the dress. I love the colour but my first instinct was surprise that you’d chosen it as not your usual vibe. Can’t remember how much it was tho.....
I love the sweater. You do blush and red like I do stripes. WiFi wouldn’t let me see the Tshirt so I can’t comment but I thought the blouse was pretty - maybe with a lighter wash denim? Like a 70s blue. I can’t think of the name.....
Everyone you have an amazing memory. I left all my tight fit stuff at home this year.
Clothes here seem v varied. Some people really make an effort but there are also some real misses style wise. One woman had a beautiful short wrap dress with kimono sleeves in white with a grey print - just stunning. Lots of maxi dresses (but not always flattering). I’ve learnt that the fabric makes a massive difference - the crepe of my Me&em one is perfect, the blue Hush one is good but more relaxed.
The most stylish women poolside seem to stick to the black bikinis, RayBans and some good hats. I gave up on my huge straw hat as it had gone floppy in Majorca and I bought a plain black baseball cap at the airport which is so much easier to lounge in.

shopafrolic · 28/07/2018 15:07

Oh and I bought this last minute after seeing it on a friend in majorca and i’ve worn it more than any other cover up. Size down.....

shopafrolic · 28/07/2018 15:13

Just managed to open the tee Marsha - perfect

MarshaBradyo · 28/07/2018 16:38

Kitty this is the Marant dress. It is more raspberry-ish than just red which I love

Thanks Shop it was a crazy price for a t, but the discounts make it ok.
But I think you're right on the dress, it's the arm ruffles. I would love it if they weren't there.

Hang in there kiddo, big squeeze, and always, always feel you can post here. Everyone has hard times and we're here to support as well as distract, whichever helps most .

MarshaBradyo · 28/07/2018 17:07

Blair thinking of you too, must be feeling very close

kittyhello · 29/07/2018 07:33

I really like that dress Marsha

If anyone is looking for some last minute sales bargains 24 Sèvres have an extra 20% off. Mara your white Marant blouse is on there. They have it in dress form too which is gorgeous and would suit Every, I'm not enabling at all. Grin

Stokey · 29/07/2018 07:51

Shop love your cover-up. Too late for me to order though, we're off at an ungodly hour on Tuesday morning. I invested in a black Sea Folly one with pom poms a couple of years back and it has been an absolute staple. Good to hear about pool fashion too, I just swapped in an old black bikini for a newer striped one as thought it looked a bit more sophisticated. Sorry to hear about your DF, and bad night, fingers crossed it all Improves.

I don't think the red dress is quite you Marsha. Agree the sleeves are a bit fussy for you. You always look good in pared down stuff.

I've been working every day too, everyone, it's been crazy seeing people In coats on the tube 🙄. Have been finding it funny seeing guys in shorts at my ultra conservative work place though! I wore a sleeveless black midi silk &OS dress that has been an amazing buy - 4 years old now and starting to pull a bit but great cpw.

Am meeting friends at theatre this morning to see a kids play. Forecast is 18 and rain, am thrown. So unused to wearing shoes. Think I'm going to go for black &OS midi skirt, white & black zebra ankle boots, black tee & leather jacket.

Happy Sunday all.

Longislandicetee · 29/07/2018 08:44

Stokey, i am also gutted about the crappy weather today! Dh and i have a day out, we were meant to be having a child free afternoon and going for a drive and a nice lunch somewhere in the countryside.Hmm

Shop, you're making me think about a new cover up now, even though i love the one i have!

I have a few links for you...Dh and i went out to dinner and the theatre on Friday night. I wore this Michael Kors striped dresss with these Aquazurra heelss. Last night we went to dinner and drinks in Soho with friends. I wore my hair all rock chick style and wore Michael Kors studded jumpsuitt with these Saint Laurent glitter pumpss, you couldn't miss me! I am thinking of doing a MK weekend hat trick and wearing this crocheted dresss today. I think Blair* is right about me having a "a go to" brand.Grin

kittyhello · 29/07/2018 08:58

Great outfits Blingy and yes to the crotchet dress, weather permitting. Have a nice afternoon.

Shop is that cover up huge? The reviews say that it comes up large?

MarshaBradyo · 29/07/2018 09:54

Thank you for red Marant feedback - really helpful. It’s going back. I love it when mistakes are not made

On that note can I link this again and ask should I send it back or keep?

Giambattista Valli

Sorry for double link but it’s pretty and exxy but is it good for me?

Thank you!

Also am wearing new acne skinnies - first time this summer

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/07/2018 10:22

I’ve not heard of that site before kitty. I haven’t got the winter Boden dress yet.

I like that top marsha - how would you style it? Does it go with various bottoms? If you can think of several places you would wear it, then maybe it’s a keeper. If you think you would always opt for something else then maybe return it?

I’ve totally given up trying to make my DH stylish dry. He isn’t interested in clothes but then neither is he keen on me styling him - he has his own ideas. So I let him get on with it now. I agree that it’s much harder for men as they do have less options.

Great outfits blingy. Love the black and white dress. Typical about the weather. As much as we needed the rain, it doesn’t have to rain all day!

Nice cover up shop. I agree that black bikinis do look stylish, I guess they don’t show the sun cream stains etc I did have a big hat too but it got all squashed in my case one year and has never looked the same so I don’t wear it much now either.

Have a great holiday stokey and a good time today.

MarshaBradyo · 29/07/2018 10:44

Thanks Everyone it doesn’t go with much, Shop’s suggestion is a good one - pale jeans I have the acne ones are good. Would need to find something else too

Kitty I like that site but can’t see the extra 20% off is there a code?

Great links Blingy

Have fun Stokey

shopafrolic · 29/07/2018 12:48

Size down on the cover up

kittyhello · 29/07/2018 14:37

Marsha LAST20 gives an extra 20% on that website. Re: the blouse I like how it is styled with the pink trousers and yes pale jeans would go with it too although for that price you probably want a lot more items to wear with it.

MarshaBradyo · 29/07/2018 14:57

Thanks Kitty

YvesKleinBlue · 30/07/2018 00:01

Quickly popping in to give some virtual hugs to shop

I will be near your holiday destination as of next week Saturday but I guess you will have left by then, otherwise I could have given you real hugs at another international Mini MU!

I have only skim read the thread but marsha I think you made a good call on the IM dress. The colour was lovely (very much like my IM etoile dress I bought at Liberty at Easter —and whose slip dress the dry cleaners lost so now I can’t wear until I find a solution—) but the style was a bit too flouncy for you.

I have to say that G. Valli blouse also looks to frilly and fussy for you, sorry.

Love the ATM tee though, that brand has been one of my discoveries since moving here. I have a navy sleeveless dress I bought last year and that has washed so well and is something I throw on when I don’t know what to wear, which is often!

dry I can really recommend the Uniqlo linen shirts for men. DH has them in many colours and they really dress up a pair of shorts or chinos whitout looking too formal. He rolls up the sleeves and leaves them untucked when he wears them with shorts.

I think you can even get them without a collar if you want to go even more casual.

blair not long now! I hope the heat isn’t getting to you too much.

QueenCelestial · 30/07/2018 09:31

Hi all, I’m lounging in the sun by the pool.
Like shop I can’t open all links but I did manage the red dress. marsga I love it but agree the sleeves look annoying.

I’m loving my new bikinis although should have sized up to a 32 in one of the tops as I’ve realised it’s a little tight. My favourite is the cobalt one.

My beach bag is a cath kidston weekend bag that I ordered before I left. Fab size and really pleased with it.
shop hope all is ok with you, hello to everyone else!
