everyone i personally really like the turquoise but i can see the navy being very versatile too. I'd go for whichever colour i already the accessories/shoes/bags to go with so i'd get maximum wear out of it

how are you doing blair?

happy belated birthday lib Thanks

No fashion news to report, the only thing i've bought lately has been tights!!!

Enjoy your holiday shop!!

libertyonhertravels · 21/07/2018 11:23

Happy birthday Marsha Wine Cake Yoga is a good idea - which u-tube vids do you use?

I like the navy star version Everyone. You are right, winter is getting me down.

Blingy I can see you looking amazing in both those MK dresses.

MarshaBradyo · 21/07/2018 11:58

Thanks Lib I really recommend Adriene in 30 days. Starts gently and gets a bit harder. Most importantly I like her voice, she looks good and has a great dog who sometimes appears. I feel better already for doing it every night

Everyone I still have the MSGM one which is bright and dh said woah but Mara re-convinced me it’s nice. But need many clothes as whole wardrobe needs an update

MarshaBradyo · 21/07/2018 12:00

Everyone navy

Longislandicetee · 22/07/2018 07:30

Thank you EveryoneSmile the navy one for me too.

One of my sibs had a big family party last night. I wore this Ted Baker dress with my black castañer wedges and carried a purple velvet evening bag. My outfit got lots of compliments which was lovely as everyone looked fab. I actually bought the dress about 18 months ago but when I put on weight I couldn’t get the dress on so it’s been hanging in the wardrobe. I have been determined to get back into it. It’s a size 0, which is 31” bust and 25” waist in Ted Baker. I am 32” across the bust so it was fine though looked busty but let’s just say i didn’t pig out on the lovely food!Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 22/07/2018 08:38

Oh Blingy I missed the MK dresses. Really love both of them especially the floral broderie.

Everyone navy for me (although the blue is lovely too)

Just been browsing the J Crew site and very pleased to see they’re using normal sized models.....hope this catches on.

So I’m supposed to be painting my front door...... but I’m thinking I’d rather visit my local designer outlet today Grin .......and i can’t decide what colour to do anyway.

Just to go against the grain I prefer the blue Everyone - just not so keen on the yellow stars on the navy one.

Sounds like a lovely outfit Blingy.

Love the holiday round ups from Shop and Dry. I do think the boilersuit lady sounds chic though!

Belated happy birthday Lib and sorry to hear you are feeling a bit flat - so much has changed for you in the last 9 months or so - so much to process and bound to have ups and downs. Also agree with Everyone that birthdays are a time for reflection. Yoga sounds like a good call - it always helps my mental well being. I wish I had the rigour for self practice but find a class works better for me - not sure if you have the option time wise though? Also getting out into nature to do a run always helps me I find.

Lovely outfit for a wedding Mara. I am so bad at event dressing - I have a wedding coming up, planned to wear a dress I already own but tried it on yesterday and hated it! I have now done a panic asos order of a number of dresses. Always get into this kind of rut when I have a wedding / event as I don't go to many, so don't want to buy anything appropriate that will just be worn once but then find my current wardrobe lacking so do a last minute panic buy of something I will never wear again. Aargh. How does everyone else approach this??

Happy Sundays to all.

Everyonelovessparkles · 22/07/2018 10:38

Nice ted baker dress blingy and well done at fitting into it! Glad you enjoyed the party.

Hope mara had a good time at the wedding. Did any outfits stand out?

dry will the designer outlet village be busy on a Sunday? Would it be better to go in the week?

bernice as I love event dressing (any excuse to dress up Grin) I think about what I will wear ages in advance and keep an eye out for anything suitable eg something that will suit the event but maybe useable for holidays, other nights out etc . It also depends on the event. I already had a nice dress that I hadn’t worn much which I wore to my cousins wedding as it was suitable and I hadn’t seen anything i liked better and also knew it wasn’t worth spending ££ on a new dress as it wasn’t that ‘fancy’ a do Grin. I also sometimes buy a fancy dress I like in the sales even if I haven’t got any where to wear it, as you can get a bargain and then it avoids the last minute panic purchases.

blair thinking of you In this heat. My SIL is due at the beginning of Aug and she is suffering too.

Thanks for the feedback on the star dress. Maybe it’s one of those I need to order in both colours to see which looks better on.

Still warm here. Off to the PYO farm today. Matching with DD in our denim shorts and cotton tops Smile. Got a bad cold (I know, don’t know how Ive managed that in the middle of the hottest summers for years Confused) so not feeling great.

Longislandicetee · 22/07/2018 12:52

Everyone I am just glad to be able to breathe normally today quite frankly! Grin

Bernice what if you forced yourself to only pick from your existing wardrobe? That’s what I have been making myself do for most of the last few years other than the big party we threw 2 years ago so I don’t panic buy. Have you had a good look at what you have already and what accessories you could wear to make something work differently?

Fairylolly · 22/07/2018 14:13

Bernice, you have described exactly how I feel about event dressing. I don't go to many but when I do I inevitabley panic buy and don't feel great at the event and end up tossing the outfit. I think Everyone and Blingy have the right approach.

Have done a big J Crew sale shop - inlcuding this coverup, these sandals, this knit, this clutch, this tote and a few pairs of pyjamas including these.

I love your swimsuit Amber.

Fairylolly · 22/07/2018 14:19

Blingy I love those MK dresses - you must have an incredible figure. I am short but not slim so can't wear dresses that are too fitted - but at the same time loose and flowy does me no favours.

MarshaBradyo · 22/07/2018 14:26

Just a quicky

Miele or Bosch dishwasher? My eyes are going funny looking at all the models

Fairylolly · 22/07/2018 14:45

Miele for me every time. We have installed Miele in previous houses with no regrets...ever. I have Bosch in current kitchen (previous owner installed) - it is okay but the Miele we had dried the dishes bettter. May be down to the model though.

Fairylolly · 22/07/2018 14:51

Liberty - I feel your mood - could you have a touch of SAD given the season where you are? I find a mani/pedi always gives me a quick lift.

Also, as far as clothes go to help my mood - over the years I have invested in some lovely cold weather gear so feel comfortable and classy when going on wintry walks (or even just the weekend errands). And getting outside to excercise really helps. Last weekend I rugged up and took DCs to a beautiful park in our city and pretended we were at the Jardin du Luxembourg Smile. I wore my Prada chelsea boots and this jacket. With a large wooly leopard pint J Crew scarf.

This year on the really cold days I am enjoying Mara's boots. I would LOVE to purchase something like this jacket but not going to risk it at that price if it is final sale....

DryWhiteagainW · 22/07/2018 15:31

I have Bosch Marsha ...have had Miele in the past. Was happy with both. (Sorry that’s no help is it?)

Everyone yes, you are right.....haven’t people got anything better to do on a sunny day than go shopping?!!!!!!! BUT I got the exact bag I’ve been wanting for ages in stone v pleased indeed. And fantastic CS so I emailed Coach Cs at HO to tell them because people always forget to do that.

Hmmmmm.......now back to my front door. Smile

Brilliant thanks Fairy going for the Miele
Do you have a favourite model?
(Sorry normal business resume shortly)

MarshaBradyo · 22/07/2018 15:38

X post thanks Dry

Fairylolly · 22/07/2018 16:33

Dry love that - gorgeous colour.

Marsha sorry I can’t recall the models as they have been different each time. I recall each time we researched customer reviews before selection. Have never had any regrets with any of them.

Fairylolly · 22/07/2018 16:39

Sorry link fail for boots before they are the Montelliana-Camelia-fur-trimmed-suede-après-ski-boots - good sale price atm.

libertyonhertravels · 23/07/2018 10:12

Thanks Fairy - a mani or pedi is a good idea. I've booked a cut and colour for tomorrow after work so that should help. The lack of daylight is really getting to me - I need to remember to pop out of the office during the day to get some natural light as otherwise I am going to and from work in the dark.

MarshaBradyo · 23/07/2018 12:39

Brand rant

My Miele delivery is hanging by a thread. JL better deliver

Ocado are in my bad books big time for some bad chicken

Grr at brands being hopeless

Wonder if OcadoAnnie still posts here

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/07/2018 15:41

Hi all

I have finished work! Today is my first day of annual leave. I went swimming, which was actually really nice, not like when I had to go to the pool to wash my hair back when my bathroom was being done. Grin Came home and washed my hair instead. It's 32 degrees here so I'm sitting inside with all the curtains closed wearing PJ shorts and a t-shirt.

Amber I am coping ok actually, not sure how, mind you Hmm the nights are the absolute worst - I have been up at least 3-4 times a night for a few weeks now, and that's just for needing the loo, so not counting heartburn, cramp, drenched in sweat, etc.

Marsha fingers crossed for your JL delivery!

Lovely bag Dry, I do like a slouchy shape.

Blingy the MK/TB dresses are fab, I wish I had "go to" brands like you, would make my life much simpler!

I'm on countdown to autumn stock coming into the shops (and the weather of course) - it's going to be so amazing being able to go shopping and buy things again! Literally can't wait Grin

Longislandicetee · 23/07/2018 17:06

Oh poor you Blair, I don’t remember the summer I was pregnant being so uncomfortable. Both dm and dmil were pregnant in the summer of 1976 which by all accounts was the hottest summer ever and that experience is still scorched in their memory banks!

You’re right, I do go through phases where certain brands become my “go to” brands. Currently definitely MK, TB and McQueen. I know if I check those 3 brands I will find something I like.

Poor you Marsha. I have to admit to having a little chuckle at your rant then feeling very guilty! Hope it gets sorted.

Currently on the way home as I wanted to avoid the rush hour. I am not wearing cotton today so rush hour would just be awful!

MarshaBradyo · 23/07/2018 17:27

JL are so crap!!!

No dishwasher until 6th August can’t wait that long

Fark!!

Longislandicetee · 23/07/2018 17:57

Oh no! Not funny. Are you committed to them now?
