Dry I did the ankle boot & dress combo last winter (thought I was the last one to that particular party) and it worked - only with knee length though and looked better with heeled boots than flat. Give it a go... my return button has stopped working as well

kittyhello · 24/09/2018 21:45

Those boots are very you Justa

kittyhello · 24/09/2018 21:53

Last week Queen was talking about Whistles sale which piqued my interest and I ended up buying another Lola dress

QueenCyan · 24/09/2018 21:58

Ah it’s so lovely hearing the round ups. I can just picture you all. And now my return button has stopped working....dry skirts/boots is a tricky thing to pull off and for me the proportions need to be right. I need boots with a v on the ankle rather than ones that cut my ankle off iyswim. I’m not keen on the sock boot and midi type look but like midis with trainers (although not sure I coukd pull it off). Where have you been looking for silver jewellery? My favourites are Tiffany’s, links of London and Danny hall. All tarnish after a while but polish up well.

QueenCyan · 24/09/2018 21:59

blair hope you had a lovely day.

QueenCyan · 24/09/2018 22:02

The students are back in town. Lots still in skinnies but lots in cropped/rolled up straight legs too. The really trendy ones are in mom jeans. In fact the really trendy ones are the Asian students (not sure whether Chinese or Japanese) but they look out of place amongst the British. Rather disconcertingly, the men seem to have started wearing rolled up jeans too. Not sure what it is about it but I’m not keen on seeing a mans ankle...

MarshaBradyo · 24/09/2018 22:06

Ah the mankle

DryWhiteagainW · 24/09/2018 22:12

Oh they’re fab Justa but I have no luck with comfort and Zara shoes (and you know I’m tough with shoes)

FedupNagging · 24/09/2018 22:26

There was a lot of mankle on show in the hotel were were staying at recently. I thought the chaps looked quite dapper however dh was very Hmm When we spotted the holy trinity (man bun, beard AND mankle) he was doubled over laughing Blush. Because of course, dh is man at m&S so stylish himself Hmm

FedupNagging · 24/09/2018 22:29

Great boots Justa, lovely colour. Not sure how they'd work with a skirt though - the ankle bit looks quite high; worth a try though.

MarshaBradyo · 24/09/2018 22:34

Haha Fedup at the holy trinity - it’s par for the course at agencies I’ve been at, or that with patterned socks and the roll up

DryWhiteagainW · 24/09/2018 22:52

I do a lot of skirts and dresses with ankle boots now (was just a question of finding the right boot and QueenC said, took literally years) it’s just the midi length i struggle with in winter. I’ll carry on as I am. WHAT IS IT WITH OUR RETURN BUTTONS confused

DryWhiteagainW · 24/09/2018 22:53

Oh and DS doe the turn up trouser think....he looks a total plonker and I tell him too Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 24/09/2018 22:54

Confused about everything

MarshaBradyo · 24/09/2018 22:56

Ah he’s young he can do it Grin. I know no return is so annoying!

QueenCyan · 25/09/2018 07:37

These are the looks I’m not that keen on. I can see how on a young trendy thing in a trendy job it works but I’m not sure it will work on us middle aged surburbia women!

Sorry dry Grin

QueenCyan · 25/09/2018 07:43

I was thinking of myself when I said it, not you obviously. I just know if I rocked up to school with a skirt and boots like that it would look rubbish!

shopafrolic · 25/09/2018 07:51

Justa I'm not sure I can see you in those TBH - not sure why.... I thought you were more round / almond toe in style?

FedupNagging · 25/09/2018 08:28

Oh sorry Dry wrong end of the stick. If you find a midi/boot combo that works, let me know!

Actually Lou & Em look great in that pic, don't think Lou is very tall but she's wearing heeled boots.

maradesbois · 25/09/2018 15:26

I agree with Fedup that ankle boots can look good with skirts, I would wear with short or midi length. Depends on boot shape of course, I’d go for narrow fitting, nothing biker or cowboy.

justa like the look of the Zara boots for you but would be worried about (lack of) comfort

Dry these are my mih jeans - didn’t buy from this site though, looks dodgy. Got them in Matches sale for around £60.

Marsha I have the M Gav shoes like your pink ones but black leather. Got them in sale, really good for work.

Fairysnow · 25/09/2018 16:20

Kitty what is the fit like on the Lola dress? I have thought about it before but worried it will drown me (I’m short). My repeat-buy summer work dress for the office is Hobbs Marci - the loose fit is great for the hot summer here and also for work trips to Asia. But I am not keen on this season’s print so I need an alternative to try.
