Lol I think you got lucky on the second thing. But yeah I got rid of a fair few ‘influencers’ as they annoyed me but kept the more superficial / lighthearted fashion ones

i don't think i follow any 'influensters' i just don't feel it's something i need or want to see and tbh, the stuff they feature is way way beyond my budget for the most part so it feels a bit like tormenting myself with stuff that's never going to feature in my life. that's not to say i don't follow some fashion instas, i do but they are more geared towards my style/budget so don't feel so out of reach for me and don't give me FOMO so much

Nice outfits dry. Not sure it’s quite opaque weather here just yet, it feels like that annoying in between weather - bit of a nip in the air but too warm for full on autumn stuff.

marsha those jewelled shoes are very bizarre, but a total rip off of the other brand.

I had an annoying incident the other day. I caught the heel of the dune slides at the top of the escalator and it ripped off . So embarrassing as I had to walk around with half a shoe . Also there is virtually no heel on that shoe!! RIP dune slide. You had a good run.

Ladies, if you were to go for a coffee with an old friend who you haven’t seen for 10 years, what would you wear? I want to look good but not too try hard or too mum uniform. Given the weather situ I think it will need to be jeans, but I never feel great in jeans as I have fat thighs and I’m also about 5lbs heavier than I want to be. (I just typed that whilst scoffing a chocolate hob nob )

I’d wear nice jeans with shoes that make me feel great and a coat/jacket I love for initial outfit impact. Add a great bag for confidence. I know, like me, you refer a skirt/dress (similar hip/bum hang up) so why not a shirt skirt/boot combo....you suit that too.

Aagh, how embarrassing Everyone! Did you buy a second pair in the end? Have you decided what to wear yet? If it was me, I'd wear 7/8's with a good shirt/top, footwear would depend on weather & where I'm going-heels or loafers - pretty much my go to style! I think you have a lot of nice skirts so how about a midi with trainers or even ankle boots if the weather is rubbish?

Every oh no about your dutiful Dune slides may they RIP. Re: outfit if you feel better in a skirt/ dress wear a skirt with a nice top that makes you feel good or a casual/daytime dress - footwear would be weather dependent.

I too, unfollowed loads of influencers (hate that term) as they were pissing me off, I was rolling my eyes at them and they added no value to my life. The constant stories about going up to London and going to some extravagant do with too much food and too many flowers was becoming too much. Rant over .

I hear you QueenC about the over-instaing of table settings and flowers at product launches. Even people I have a lot of time for otherwise such as Pandora Sykes and Laura Jackson are starting to grate with the relentless collabs and freebies.

Yes Pandora Sykes was one I unfollowed. Became too grating. In any case I’d rather just see content from the brands, they can make the effort and I don’t need to fund someone’s lifestyle (with my eyeballs)

And while we’re at it I can decide for myself without their ‘influencing’.

That’s it Marsha, I really like PS and still listen to her podcast but the insta thing has become overload. One I do still look at is Katherine Ormerod - she’s posting a series about insta vs reality with seemingly carefree aspirational images of herself at fashion week etc with commentary revealing the backstory to what was going on in her troubled personal life at the time (it is to coincide with a book deal but it is still interesting).

Am currently in an old fashioned tea shop sulking taking stock-wasn't that keen on any of the Coach bags so will keep looking.

I have however tried on lots of clothes out of my comfort zone with mixed results. I'll link later. I have learned that elasticated waists are not my friend

mara Yes! i'm shopping my wardrobe!!! tiny bit ashamed that i hadn't even realise id had them and they are still brand new, i don't even think they are properly broken in yet, so best get on with that so i can wear them through the winter, i think they and the purple ones i also realised i have, will add a bit of colour to winter for me. I'm sorry i can't make the MU either, we have plans to see MIL that day and the weekend after so I'd feel awful ditching out on her!

I must admit, I did smirk at clingy as well blingy and shop. Hope you and marsha have a lovely catch up.

I haven’t rebought the dune slides yet fedup but will do shortly, especially after the recent casualty, as I reckon they will increase the price next year if they redo them. Shame about the bag hunt. Just keep your eye out. I often find that when I am looking for something in
particular I never have any luck, yet on those random trips you sometimes find exactly what you want.

Thanks for the outfit advice. I’m now going for lunch with my friend so feel more justified in wearing a dress or skirt . I have a few outfits in mind, just depends on the weather.....

It’s pretty miserable here today and I’m wearing my furry slippers. I’d forgotten how cosy they were. I’m looking forward to getting the cashmere joggers out too .

I ordered the red leopard star jumper from hush. Just got to go and collect it from Waitrose. It’s pretty ££ but I was gutted to miss out on the Bella Freud one last winter.

Marsha and MiniMarsha left about 45 mins ago.i have a mild prosecco headache hangover developing. I had such a wonderful time!! How am I going to stay awake till the dcs bedtime?
