SmileSmileMara

Blingy loved how you kept it real by taking the tube Shock

I went to the gym today for the first time in 4 years. I need to rid myself of the summer pounds which won't shift. Angry

shopafrolic · 07/09/2018 11:35

Blingy I hope you told them all of your love of High St fashion Grin
Glad you had fun. LOL at you being the poor folks.
Loved the GIF Mara
Off to see DF in a bit - red lipstick is on

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/09/2018 13:09

shop thinking of you and DF Thanks

blingy (aka Mariah!) wow sounds like an amazing event. Not surprised you piled on the bling, it sounds like it was definitely called for!

DS is just over 3 weeks now. Things are still changing day to day, but I'm getting into the swing of it and have even left the house with him on my own a few times Grin on the style front I'm struggling... still a way off fitting into my jeans (I got my mih boyfriend jeans done up but they were tight on my thighs!) and don't want to go out anywhere in loungewear Hmm I don't own any leggings or flowy dresses. Maybe I should get some culottes with elasticated waist. Also I naively assumed I'd be able to breastfeed and bought a couple of tops in preparation. It didn't work out, was a bit upset about it for a few days Sad I guess I'll be able to wear the wrap tops to work eventually!

I have been reading the thread but my brain is mush... waves to everyone else. Marsha I loved your holiday pics! Hope everyone had fab times away Smile

kittyhello · 07/09/2018 13:59

Lovely to hear from you Blair don't put any pressure on yourself to get back into pre-pregnancy clothing or be a style maven it will come but may take a bit of time. Also don't beat yourself up about not being able to breast feed either. Not everyone can. There's too much pressure on new mums these days to look photo perfect.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 07/09/2018 16:49

blair don't worry for a minute about not being able to breastfeed, i understand why you would have liked ot but honestly, for some of us it just doesn't happen, it didn't happen for me either, i just never produced any milk at all and i was gutted of course but the important thing is that baby is fed and is growing how he should be Thanks don't worry yourself about style right now either, your body will be nowhere near back to it's usual self and it can take some time for it to start snapping back, it's normal and understandable for you to want to be comfortable right now Thanks

shop Thanks

still no style news to report, i'm just not feeling it and keep fallign back ont he same tired things, well they don't look tired but i'm tired of wearing them. being overweight and in so much pain isn't helping as i just don't want to get out of my pjs most days and even they are looking wretched now, old and bobbly but i have no energy to get them replaced. never mind, maybe things will p[ick up as it cools off :)

Everyonelovessparkles · 07/09/2018 17:17

blingy your outfit and night out sounded amazing, and a totally different world! Loved maras picture 😂.

Some great links from dry and blingy.

Glad things are going well blair. I had problems breastfeeding too, it is so much more common than people think. It sounds like you have accepted it and moved on which is definitely the best approach. I saw my new neice a few weeks ago and it was lovely having those new born cuddles and I loved that smell that new borns have, but DH was glad to hear that I have no desire for any more. Grin.

Hope the visit to your DF went ok shop. Flowers. Interesting article on Sezane. I mentioned to my French colleague that the brand was coming to London and she was really confused as she thought I was talking about the artist cezanne 🤣🤣. She had never heard of sezane!

Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down one. I think more is made of this ‘back to school’ time now than in previous years, and that it’s not just about kids going back to school but it’s almost like the start of the year - new starts, new resolutions etc - which can be useful but I always find it quite pressurised.

Nice Blouse kitty. I tried to find the hush cardigan jacket that blingy and I have, as I thought you might like it too, as it’s a very casual / lose interpretation of a Chanel jacket. And I know we were discussing those that the MU. Though apparently Chanel Esque jackets are meant to be big this autumn so something else might Come up?

My dresses came. The N&T dress is going back for a couple of reasons. It’s a bit lose and needs a bet to reign it in a bit, but I don’t have a suitable belt so would need to make another purchase and also whilst the print is really pretty, I’ve realised that large all over print just doesn’t suit me. The Boden dress was perfect. As soon as I put it on I just knew I liked it. I’ve also got my eye on this [www.johnlewis.com/hobbs-seasalter-stripe-dress-cobalt/p3697549?sku=237659566&s_kwcid=2dx92700028136371102&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInLOS4KSp3QIVrbztCh29Ew9gEAQYAiABEgKrJPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Hobbs dress]] and Ocado kindly sent me a leaflet for 20% off, so will purchase soon. It is DDs birthday party tomorrow and I am in the middle of creating a ‘rainbow unicorn cake’. Which Needless to say is as difficult as it sounds 😬. I’m sure a couple of glasses of wine will aid my creativity later Grin.

kittyhello · 07/09/2018 18:00

Every great mind think alike, it was only yesterday I was searching for that Hush jacket, I found one at JL but it was oos in my size. I found a few others though here:

shopafrolic · 07/09/2018 18:08

Blair what everyone else said - don't put pressure on yourself. Every mum does the very best that they can - and that is more than enough. I didn't manage to get back into pre pregnancy jeans for nearly a year so I'm impressed you even managed to get yours on!
I have a new tee miniShop says it to me all the time if I'm annoying him so I couldn't resist.
They are now suggesting DF will be home on Monday but we'll see.....

shopafrolic · 08/09/2018 09:13

Morning all - just wanted to pop in and rave about this lipstick I bought a while ago Laura Mercier Extreme I have a blue toned red, I think it's called Dominate (It's upstairs and I can't be bothered to check it). The staying power is incredible without being drying. I've lived in it all week. Highly recommend.
Raining here today and colder - I'm in my first sweater and jeans combo of the Autumn :(

DryWhiteagainW · 08/09/2018 09:26

Mara that GIF if fantastic .....Grin. Blingy love you so much xxxx

Shop red lips always make me feel formidable.

Blair I didn’t breast feed either. My children are healthy and ok.....One of whom is a rugby playing, human dustbin giant son.

Froze yesterday. Bare legs.......think it’s time to dust down my boots, yippee

Longislandicetee · 08/09/2018 12:00

Morning! I love that you lot get me....No, it never occurred to me to get a cab.Grin

Dh and I are on our way to a wedding. The wedding invite said dress to impress so i decided to wear the same bling from Thursday night. I have decided to be even blingier, so I am wearing an uber blingy bracelet and a Swarovski watch. It's so blingy you could spot the thing from a mile away hence I rarely wear it. I am also wearing my favourite heels. They're Mary Janes by Jimmy Choo and the strap bit across the shoe is made entirely out of huge Swarovski crystals.Grin

Lovely to hear from you Blair! sorry that you struggled with feeding. I reckon most people struggle. I did, and did cottoned on how to do it pretty much on the day that i was going to stop trying as I was fairly sure the tears and stress on both our parts wasn't worth it. Dh is 6' and he wasn't breastfed so as Dry said it doesn't make a scrap of difference. I had a rule of not thinking about getting into my old clothes for the first 3 months and it was only then that i started gentle exercise. Up until then, i bought a whole load of comfy clothes off the high street (mainly Primark) and lived in them plus my maternity clothes - I had spent a fortune on them so wanted to get the cpw down!

One, sorry you're not feeling so great right now. Hope things turn around for you right now.

Kitty, love that Pablo jacket. Have you looked on eBay for that Hush jacket?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/09/2018 12:33

Thank you all for being so sweet Smile I wasn't even breastfed myself for very long at all so I don't know why I was that bothered! I think deciding to stop coincided with the baby blues. I feel much better about it now, especially as I'm getting more sleep than I otherwise would be!

Wrt clothes... shop there's no way I could have sat down in the buttoned up jeans! And they're my loosest ones. I might buy my favourite Topshop straight leg jeans in a size up to wear for a few months. That's a good idea to get a few cheap bits blingy. I got some H&M vouchers for my birthday so will start there.

Have fun at the wedding blingy!

One Thanks I'm sure the time of year doesn't help. Summer is over etc. You should treat yourself to some snuggly new pjs/loungewear as you deserve to feel fab Smile

Stokey · 09/09/2018 12:18

I keep wearing my maternity jeans & leggings for at least 4 months after each pregnancy. I also find some Gap trousers that I'd bought after DD2 which were GAP 14 so like 18 in RL! Think they were baggy even then!

Blair I do think weeks 4-8 are particularly tough as the novelty has worn off so you're not being pampered, Dh has gone back to work and the sleep deprivation is kicking in. Be kind to yourself, it's certainly not easy!

I think Zara have got their usual round of Chanel esque jackets Kitty. I tried the one Everyone & Blingy have at the start of the summer & wasn't keen, maybe as it was during the heatwave!

Am tempted by the metallic red Hush boots but balk at the £185 price tag.

And if anyone is after crazy pink ankle boots, there's a couple of lovely pairs in the &OS sale at the moment. In fact generally quite a lot of stuff still on sale there, worth a browse.

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 10:07

I just wore mat jeans after too. Although now really loving my new acne ones - bargains

Finally got round to getting a new car, settled on an Audi a few nudges which me laugh, pick it up this week

This weather is pretty nice! Perfect ankle showing weather

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 10:11

Blair thanks for photo love I have a terrible affliction for skies, horizons and sea, luckily I suppose it’s there’s only a few things that motivate me to upload to IG

But really don’t put too much pressure on yourself, either for the feeding or jeans. BabyBlair is so scrumptious enjoy his squishy cuddles

libertyonhertravels · 10/09/2018 11:29

One please don't be so hard on yourself Sad. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

Blair just echoing everyone else on breastfeeding and post baby body. I struggled hugely with breastfeeding - completely shocked me that I found it so hard. And I was in maternity jeans for a long time after... I agree with Stokey, the weeks after the initial excitement and newness of it all are really hard.

My Zara camel coat arrived and I love, love, love it! Just works with so many things. Wore it today with my M&S midi brown leather skirt and a Cos brown polo neck and R&B block heeled Chelsea boots and felt very cool Smile.

The camel coat has made me rethink the yellow loafers though - feels like a bit too much together.

I have a fabulous new couch which has made me very happy. We saw it months ago and loved it but couldn't justify the price tag of $10690 Shock (over £5k). Happened to go into the shop we saw it in the other day to look at curtain fabric and nearly fainted as it was reduced to just over $3k. Had to race over to a different shop to cancel an order we had just made for a different couch then back to first shop to secure it. Delivered today - so fabulous and really comfy - only downside is it makes the sitting room look really shabby Grin. But decorators will be here soon so that will be remedied.

Stokey those red Hush boots are totally you!

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 13:00

Good discount Lib!

I don’t suppose anyone has seen the Leandra MR / Area / Diet Pepsi shoe thing on Instagram? (I realise this will sound barking if not)

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 13:00

And it will because I meant to say Diet Prada

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/09/2018 18:24

i was musing about wanting some red boots and then it dawned on me that i have some red patent dr martens in my wardrobe that i have never worn outside the house Blush then i realised i also have the same but in purple as well and they've never been worn out of the house either! i am so bad, so so bad Blush

maradesbois · 10/09/2018 18:33

Hello,

Lol Marsha, just checked it out, don’t know what to think but her response is weak and am shocked at her price point.

Dry the green velvet dress you linked for me is perfection, absolutely adore it.

kitty can really see you in the apc liberty shirt, such a good print.

I’m obsessed with forest green atm, would love a bag, there was an apc half moon on matches that sold out immediately, also Céline trio (ignoring unnecessary removal of accent) and goyard dark green tote is lovely too. Am saving up even if not sure what for yet.

lib love the sofa success story, it was clearly meant to be!

blair glad all is well at home, I heartily agree with all the feeding and post-birth body support already given xx

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 19:34

Mara completely agree on price point, which is nuts

Also I’m not sure she would write that article knowing she had the same design in production. I wonder if they thought we need to make these shoes more crazy, I know let’s add these dimantes I saw. So the actual shoes weren’t a copy but that bit was

shopafrolic · 10/09/2018 19:56

I need a link mara / Marsha.
DF just home so no time to Google

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 20:06

Shop I saw it in Leandra’s account but it led me to here as I didn’t get from her weak apology what had happened

There’s question over whether she just ripped off a design from independent label Area for her own collection, she wrote about their design last Sept I think (in article if you swipe)

Here: Diet Prada

Hope all is ok with your df home Flowers

shopafrolic · 10/09/2018 20:18

Thanks M. I must be behind. Unnfollowed her a while ago. Didn’t know she had her own brand.

MarshaBradyo · 10/09/2018 20:20

Yeh I should do the same really, it’s very new
