Forgot to say QueenC I love the trousers you linked for me, do think they’d really suit you too fedup, we can share!

FedupNagging · 20/08/2018 19:43

Everyone my summer star buys are definitely the tan dune slides which I shamelessly copied from you! Also the black Hush dress worn with silver gigi's - despite being mmf was super cool in the heat.

Marsha I completely forgot to mention your Dm in my earlier post - I hope she is on the road to recovery. So stressful for you all.

QueenCelestial · 20/08/2018 20:51

I’ve been pleased with all my summer purchases except the 2 pairs of sandals but that was a comfort thing rather than anything else. I especially look my hush Grecian tops and sugar hill dresses (the flamingo one I wore to mu). It’s just been so nice to actually wear summer stuff so much and I’m really looking forward to wearing it all again next week. We’re in a hotel rather than villa do feel I need to up my evening game-may even stretch to make up and jewellery which I often avoid in the heat!

mara you’re right about the boots Grin

QueenCelestial · 20/08/2018 20:58

Loved not look!

QueenCelestial · 20/08/2018 21:06

Not sure about a/W wishlist as there’s nothing I really need. I bought so much last year that I’m pretty sorted. I’m sure there’ll be stuff to tempt me with though!

I blame you lot but my preferences have changed. I’ve found myself buying more expensive stuff lately. I think it just seems to fit better most of the time. It’s often just really subtle differences between say a Gerard Darrel blouse and an oasis one (apart from the £100 price difference!!) and they just fit and look better. I think some of that is due to aging too though and needing more expensive cuts to flatter my menopausal figure. I still love the high st and have some real gems but most my favourite pieces are probably from higher end high st nowadays.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/08/2018 21:44

no a/w wishlist here, there's nothing i can think of that i actually need anything i bought would purely be a want and truthfully, i just can't think of anything that's caught my eye at all. I still look, can lose hours browsing online but nothings jumping out at me and I just don't want to buy anything i'm not hungry for, if you know what i mean? the last thing i bought was a vivienne westwood top and i haven't actually worn it yet, that was definitely a want not a need!

Longislandicetee · 21/08/2018 12:37

Afternoon! I decided to do a last minute high street shop last week, to pick up a few cheap pieces for holiday. Very hit and miss and what QueenC says about stuff not fitting well totally resonated with me. To be fair, i was also trying to see if i could pick up some of the stuff that's been fashionable this summer and see if they worked on me. They mostly didn't.GrinLinks below are from warehouse which is usually a high street winner for me.

warehouse ruffle one shoulder dress should have looked good but really didn't!

warehouse ruched bandeau dress looked frumpy on me.

warehouse halter midi dress is utterly gorgeous! Really suited me. The only problem was i was trying it on while I was in full first couple of days of period bloat and couldn't do it up so i didn't bring it on holiday but i have kept it and will try it on again when i am home. I am at a wedding in a few weeks time and would love to wear it, although not sure i would do for a cover up if it's cold? The material was quite thin.

QueenCelestial · 21/08/2018 13:27

Lovely dress blingy but as you say halter necks can be tricky to dress when cold. Also what colour accessories will you do.

I’ve ordered a couple of dresses from hush as I got sent a discount code and free p&p and returns. Not holding out much hope after how short the one was I tried on but worth a go.

QueenCelestial · 21/08/2018 13:28

Warehouse used to be a winner for me too and the posh dresses I have from there about 3 years ago look much more expensive. I just haven’t had much success in there lately despite trying lots on.

Longislandicetee · 21/08/2018 14:03

Yeah i need a back up plan. Accessories - diamonds. Grin. I have a huge aquamarine and diamond ring which I would wear on right hand with 4ct tennis bracelet and my boodles raindance stud earrings. Shoes would be my Jimmy Choo shoes which has a Swarovski buckle. Ugh so annoying, this would be a good outfit and easily imaginable when it's 27 degrees. I better have another outfit ready.Hmm

shopafrolic · 22/08/2018 11:48

Accessories?...... Diamonds Grin And this is why I love you Voguettes.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 22/08/2018 12:45

Hello everyone :) just popping in to say thank you for all the lovely messages on here and facebook. Flowers Can't believe baby DS is already a week old today! He is just so gorgeous and we are so in love.

I was in labour at home with frequent long (aka inefficient!) contractions for 44 hours before the hospital would finally admit me, so my hope for a nice MLU water birth went out of the window and I had a very nice epidural instead Grin as I was so knackered.

Can't wait to do some shopping now I'm not pregnant anymore! Grin

Longislandicetee · 22/08/2018 13:03

Oh Blair, so wonderful to hear from you and glad it's going so well. He looks like a gorgeous bundle of joy. Many congratulations again!GrinThanks

Shop...BlushGrin

Everyonelovessparkles · 22/08/2018 14:19

shop, I also smirked at diamonds being blingy’s accessories of choice Grin.

Sorry to hear about the protracted labour *blair, but as you say, it’s all worth it in the end. Glad things are going well!

blingy the blue of the warehouse dress is beautiful and can see it really suiting you. I can see why the first 2 dresses you linked weren’t really you. They seemed a bit shapeless and I think you seem to suit things that are more fitted / have a defined waist. I was also contemplating the red hush cardigan jacket that you ordered and your purchase encouraged me to go for it. I went for a small.

fedup have you reordered the dune slides for next year? I’m considering ordering another pair to put away as my current pair are pretty battered now.

QueenCelestial · 22/08/2018 14:58

blair so good to hear from you!! Dc1 had a long protracted labour too and it’s utterly exhausting so don’t feel bad for having an epidural. Hope you’re enjoying newborn snuggles. What’s on the wishlist for you first to buy (for you not baby)
blingy you do make me laugh Grin.
I need to get packing for next week but after having had a holiday already I can’t find the motivation to do it all again .
dty hows the planning for the weekend coming along?

Longislandicetee · 23/08/2018 11:05

Everyone, looking forward to hearing how you get on with the Hush red cardigan, I had it in my basket since Spring at full price, so was quite pleased to get it at a discount!

QueenC, at least I entertain you.Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 23/08/2018 16:23

Last season Mango did this coat in bright red. I hesitated and missed it. I’ve been obsessed ever since. If anyone sees anything similar let me know.

Packing going well QueenC.....I think the answer is a trench coat.
So far this is what I’m thinking:

Saturday wine bar then dinner......
black cigarette leg trousers
Very old but fab green Coast silk and cotton halter neck with ruffle front
Gold scrappy stiletto sandals
DVF gold clutch
Reiss Black fitted blazer

Sunday lunch (possible drinks on boat)
Black cigarette trousers
Boden guipure cream lace 3/4 sleeve top
Green block heel shoes
Guicci Disco
Blazer

Races:
whistles body con multi floral dress
Black block heeled sandals
Red Longchamps bag
Trench coat

Walking stuff, leather Dubarry look alikes
Meryll Wakefield rain coat

Looks like you've nailed the packing situ Dry; I'd be dithering for days!

I tried the Hush cardigan last autumn but couldn't decide - obviously now you're all purchasing, I want it Grin

Everyone I won't get the sandals in the same colour but am wondering about getting them in black however, experience has taught me that I'll probably still only wear the one pair.

So pleased to see you bakc on thread Blair, how's it going? Brand new babies are just so scrummy and gorgeous and exhausting!

I have made my first A/W purchase ready for collection tomorrow - these in the steel blue - i tried the 5 in store but too big so ordered the 4.5. The leather didn't feel as hard as the nude ones I ordered in the spring so fingers crossed.

justasecond · 23/08/2018 22:26

Lovely to hear from you Blair so pleased that you and MiniBlair are doing well. xx

Sorry to hear about your Dm getting ill Marsha hope she is feeling better now. Loved your dress and MiniMarsha's outfits, bet she was belle of the ball! You almost have me feeling broody Smile

Thanks Queenc and Mara for the compliments, you have made my week! Dm does indeed have beautiful skin, she has never worn make up and always looks amazing. It takes a lot of products for me to look presentable!

Dry your outfits sound perfect. I remember that whistles floral from a mu, it suited you so well.

Blingy hope you are enjoying your hols, I love the blue warehouse dress too.

The hush cardigan is lovely Everyone

Fedup if I didn't have a foot phobia I would buy those Dune slides!

I have splashed out on my first purchase of the season. I have worn my stone coloured Nicholas Kirkwood beya to death so have bought these. I was shocked to see the price go up so much from last season on Matches etc but they were cheaper here with another 10% off. I did wonder if they would arrive but delivery was super quick.

AmberNectarine · 24/08/2018 14:57

CONGRATULATIONS Blair, your DS is just delicious. Well done, my lovely x

FedupNagging · 24/08/2018 18:54

Justa I'm intrigued, do you ever wear sandals or flipflops? Even in v hot weather? Nice loafers, love the heel detail.

I've been meaning to order another pair of superga's for ages - had to bin my favourite pair as wore them out and the other pair I have are looking decidedly tatty. Anyway, I can't decide between the 3 pairs I've (hopefully) attached to this post. Will probably order all 3!

What is everyone up to this weekend? Ours is full on so making the most of a quiet night in tonight fingers crossed the bastard weather doesn't spoil it all.

Amber I'm loving your cocktail reviews Grin

Justa love love love those NK flats, as you know I'm partial to a pointy flat.
Yes, that is the dress I wore to the MU last year. CPW is so low now. I'm going to have to rethink races outfit as it may be a bit chilly with open toes and bare legs Hmm

BerniceBobsHerHair · 24/08/2018 18:58

So lovely to read about baby Blair's safe arrival - congratulations!

Am on a tablet so don't think I can do links but hush have a red coat similar to the mango one Dry - more ££ though - it's (originally ) called hush long coat on John Lewis website. Or mango outlet can be good for previous season stock.

DryWhiteagainW · 25/08/2018 10:18

Oh Bernice I’ll have a look, and I have a JL voucher....this sounds exciting.

So my packing for the weekend has gone nuts. It was all going so smoothly until it got cold.
Not a clue about smartne ses level, it’s freezing, footwear for races causing angst (don’t say w e does, I don’t own any)......I’m going to have to take an extra case for shoes and bags, not even joking!
So I have 7 pairs of shoes/boots/ trainers, 4 handbags Shock ....... bloody hell!
Uniqlo heattech vest, nude tights......
