Congrats Mara that's brilliant and so well deserved - I'm thrilled for you
Blingy step away from the overpriced lacey stuff Grin

Longislandicetee · 13/08/2018 18:43

Shop, always slightly weird that whenever i look at underwear that i imagine both dh's reaction when I wear it and yours when I post the link on here GrinGrinGrinWink

Mara, that's a cracking idea, if i hadn't got the other presents, he would have been very happy with those! Thanks for your help, i think i am going to properly take my time and research so that i can get him the wallet for Christmas. so i have got him other bits and pieces now. Lots of next day deliveries arriving from Harrods, Selfridges and John Lewis like the total last minute Charlie that i am! I bought similar shoes last year and they made me look frumpy. Interested to hear how they turn out for you.

kittyhello · 13/08/2018 19:44

Shop sorry to hear about df's fall. Also not impressed with your "friends" who are excluding ds from play dates Angry

Mara great news on the promotion, have a great time celebrating. Interesting article you linked.

Blingy lovely presents for dh, my dh's wallet is very tatty and he needs a new one.

I love that white jacket Bernice although would need to keep it away from small fingers.

Blair hope all went well today. xx

With all the fabulous hot weather sorry One I cant even get my head around a/w

Lib l love the dress you linked.

I've never followed any blogs and I don't do insta. I'm still trying to follow my less is more/buy less but better and am trying to keep all temptation at bay. It's also good for the wallet too GrinI use this thread and the Parisian one for inspiration.

DryWhiteagainW · 13/08/2018 19:57

Hello all from the land of the Breton. I've just skimmed the thread a bit . Wanted to see if BabyBlair had arrived.
Stripes everywhere here and I've brought LOADS so am blending in well.....tomorrow will wear my yellow and white stripes with Gap denim shorts. Thanks for the kind comments about my shorts....it's taken me until 2 years ago to get the courage to wear shorter shorts, pathetic really.
Holiday wardrobe is spot on....have made myself wear (to justify) all 3 pairs of Gigis. V informal, v much like Cornwall attire.
Shop my thoughts are with you always. X

You just made me well up Dry Flowers

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/08/2018 08:07

Congratulations on the promotion mara, that is great news! Shoes look good. I’ve also been thinking about footwear for A/W as I always seem to struggle knowing what to wear / buy.

Good luck blair! I went to an accupuncturist in Wimbledon, but I think there are loads around. I agree that brights for babies are nice. My DC are always in bright clothes rather than the muted tones favoured by the Instagram crew.

I don’t officially follow any one on insta but do look at Hannah S-T, fashion bug, does my bum look 40, fashion lift and Chloe loves to shop.
The first 2 are very aspirational and wealthy and have totally different taste to me, but as I like fashion I just like looking at their pretty pictures and view it more like a fashion editorial. I also love looking at Deborah Brett. Again she is very wealthy but her insta seems more ‘personal’ than encouraging people to emulate her lifestyle (whereas I feel WIT is more of an enabler).

Glad you are having a good holiday dry and making the most of the gigis!

Hope you are having a nice time too kitty.

You are very brave considering a white blazer with young DC bernice! Though I do have a cream jacket that I often wear with jeans and it hasn’t had too many trips to the dry cleaners!

Hope your DH has a nice birthday blingy.

Sorry to hear about your DF shop, it must be a very stressful and upsetting time. And that does seem a bit off of the other parents not to invite your DS to various things. The last thing you need at this time is that type of pettiness to contend with.

Hello to any one I may have forgotten!

Thinking about Blair and BabyBlair

Blingy ikwym about granny shoes, am thinking to wear with cropped jeans/trousers and tee with my new oversized blazer as a work outfit. Will see. I was a bit concerned about that with them being leather rather than suede but wouldn’t have got suede ones as too similar to the Gucci marmonts. Your work wardrobe is much more tailored and high end corporate glam (a look I just invented for you as corporate doesn’t do you justice!!). Nor do I see that kind of style working with your casual. The Chloé block heel pumps yes as the scalloped edge softens them.

Dry glad you’ve discovered that you absolutely can do short shorts!

DryWhiteagainW · 14/08/2018 10:17

high end corporate glam love it mara. Btw well done in the promotion. Love how we've all been in here so long we've seen all sorts of live developments. Feel rather chuffed for you.
The downside of wearing shorts is if u get a sunburn you look af if you're wearing red stockings.....a rather humiliating look in swimwear. With DH's tennis tan and my shirt burn we are going to look like a right odd couple today 😂😂😂

Congrats on the promotion Mara; hope you enjoyed your celebrations last night.

Dh is pretty much man at m&s Hmm & fairly resistant to spending £££ on clothes. I've found that just buying him clothes that I think he'll like & present it as a fait accompli kind of works Grin & actually he loves the RL shirts & polos has absolutely no clue of their cost I bought for him.

Slightly off topic but We're looking to book some winter sun for the new year-has anyone been to the Canaries in winter?

DryWhiteagainW · 14/08/2018 19:50

Yes Fedup been to lanzarote a few times in February. Sandy beaches. Low to mid 20s.

well done on the promotion Mara those shoes are perfect and love how you will style them.
Think I have post holiday blues. Not helped by being straight back at work and coping with the usual guilt of kids stuck indoors while i'm out [dh working from home, so they are not on their own!]
I bought these jcrew leopard sandals for my holiday, a departure for me as I have a bit of a foot phobia but I was ok with having them out abroad Confused. They were so comfortable.
Just ordered these pink cord trousers there were a high end pair last winter that I loved in this pin think they were celine? They may look crap on me though!

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2018 22:13

"High end corporate glam" Grin Mara, plus also a very good analysis as to why those shoes just don't work for me!

Justa love the leopard sandals. Your link to H&M made me check out their new size guide. I still don't get why there is almost 2 inches on the waist between their size 6 and size 8 meaning one size is too tight and the other way too loose.Hmm

I persuaded dh to take the afternoon off and we had a late lunch in Soho at Temper. It's a barbecue restaurant and we had a fantastic time. We ate and drank so much that neither of us has eaten again! While we were chatting, I tried to show him the cami that i linked yesterday afternoon. It had sold out and was no longer in stock. Thankfully, i didn't actually want to get it, but still i was a bit Shock

Hoping BabyBlair has safely arrived and the Blair family all doing well. Thanks

shopafrolic · 15/08/2018 09:24

There'll be a lurker somewhere Blingy getting it on tonight - hopefully with my voice ringing in her ears going "how bloody much?" Grin

Longislandicetee · 15/08/2018 09:40

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin too funny Shop, too funny!

Longislandicetee · 15/08/2018 11:42

I need to weep! I have been exercising and toning up in advance of our holiday. It's all been looking good with definition returning. My period started this morning and since having the dcs i always get hideous bloating that lasts for days.Hmm

On a more cheerful note, I am headed into Mayfair for a girlie lunch and have a free afternoon. I am wearing a green mini dress with blue wedges. I might go and check out that Prada bag I have lusted after for ages to cheer myself up....can i class it as a necessity? I now need the bag to hide the faux baby bump that I get when my period starts.HmmGrin

QueenCelestial · 15/08/2018 12:03

Hi all, just popping in to say hello and check whether the baby is here yet!!
Still at my sil but heading home later so will catch up properly then.

MarshaBradyo · 15/08/2018 12:11

Checking in on BabyBlair watch

Mara will come back later with details, want to do the links ;

And would love to bring dd again! Best time ever

FedupNagging · 15/08/2018 14:59

Just popping in to see if there's any baby news.....

Love the sandals Justa

I think one could possibly regard the prada bag as not only a necessity for personal well being & mental health but also an investment Blingy so it makes sense to purchase!

DryWhiteagainW · 15/08/2018 16:39

Popping in to join the queue waiting for BabyBlsir news.....,sending good luck vibes from my holiday....

So I spent ages at the Prada store trying to pick between the red and black double tote. Eventually chose the red one.

Longislandicetee · 15/08/2018 21:01

Omg! The booze lunch has messed with my head! I didn't chose the red one, I chose the black one!!

I also saw these Prada satin pumps which I loved. I have similar (but nicer) ones from Jimmy Choo.

MarshaBradyo · 15/08/2018 21:08

Haha good one Blingy
I feel like that this week!

QueenCelestial · 16/08/2018 08:32

Lovely blingy.
The posting baby pictures online has come back to bite the frugality in the bum as the daily mail has used a picture of her and Peggy. I wouldn’t be happy either but that’s the problem once it’s out there online, it’s for anyone to see and ‘steal’.
Rubbish weather here, lots of rain!

shopafrolic · 16/08/2018 15:42

Anyone else starting to think that radio silence from Blair may mean things are occurring?
