Hello voguettes
Back from Tuscany!

Am rushing in to see if BabyBlair has arrived

Back tomorrow with holiday style roundup a large Dhop and Dry and to catch up

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/08/2018 12:08

Sorry to disappoint Marsha Grin 41 weeks today. I've been getting some twinges and very faint cramps but that's all. I have booked a sweep for Monday and induction for Wednesday, but only to maximise my chances of still being allowed to give birth at the lovely MLU. So please all send good vibes for things happening over the weekend or even today!

Looking forward to the Tuscany style roundup :) hope you had an amazing time.

Longislandicetee · 10/08/2018 12:24

I am mildly concerned I have shown more excitement about BabyBlair’s arrival than I did own dc Grin

Today is a lounging about day and sorting stuff out. I can’t even pretend that the PJs and hoodie I am wearing are fashionable Grin

QueenCelestial · 10/08/2018 12:47

Ooh blair twinges and cramps are good. I’ll keep everything crossed!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 10/08/2018 19:56

Fingers crossed blair. Walking is meant to help, but a decent distance. I remember pounding the streets with DD. I also resorted to accupuncture as DD was 11 days late. The day after the session, labour started. Maybe a coincidence?? At least it’s cooled down though. Exciting times!!

Hope you had a lovely time in Tuscany marsha. Hope the dress was ok. Looking forward to the wedding round up!

That’s a shame about the distance shop but hopefully it will be worth it for your DF.

Now the weather has changed I want the heat back Grin. This is typically in time for our trip to Cornwall. Think I’ll be packing everything to cover all weather eventualities....

maradesbois · 11/08/2018 19:36

I want the heat back too Everyone Sad. Today started off nice but now it’s raining here. Have a great holiday though.

Any update on the twinges Blair?

Dh and I having some much-needed quality time alone together today, we went to Bicester earlier (which is quality time for me when done sans dc!). Going out tonight in Mayfair, no clue what to wear though, am still lying on the sofa drinking tea but will figure it.

Wasn’t after anything in particular at Bicester but had my eye on autumn and ended up nabbing this www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.pinterest.com/amp/pin/387239267952420394/?source=images Prince of Wales check wool coat]]. It’s something I wouldn’t have noticed online but a great SA suggested it for me and after trying it felt just right. The only other thing that interested me was a beautiful black leather hobo bag with gold hardware at Céline. It was still over 1k though so definitely wasn’t happening.

Dry saw pictures of you on fb looking gorgeous in red shorts and breton on your hols.

Marsha lots of q’s for you - what did you wear to the wedding in the end? What did dd wear? Can she come to meet up on 22nd Sep?

Shop has df settled in at the clinic?

QueenC am so happy for you on the job front Flowers

QueenCelestial · 11/08/2018 21:18

Thanks mara. Nice coat. Can’t believe the bag was 1k. How much is it usually?

I’ve been trying to make some positive changes to my life. I’ve unfollowed loads of bloggers/influencers on IG as I realised they weren’t adding anything positive to my life. I’m trying (and failing) to cut down on internet/social media use and read more books and engage with the dc more. Am off to stay with Sil for a few days with dc so hoping to cut the habit then.
I need to sort out my eating habits again too. Ate what I wanted on holiday and have continued since I got back. Feeling fat again and eating way too much sugar which makes me feel crap.

Do we reckon blsirs silence means she’s in labour....???

Longislandicetee · 12/08/2018 08:28

Morning! Sunday morning, was woken up by ds a couple of hours ago but he's buggered off back to sleepHmm we go on holiday on Friday so today is packing day. Am looking at M&S, John Lewis and Gap to see if there is anything cheap that I can pick up end of summer sales as it's just occurred to me that we have a winter holiday in the sun and might also have a few days in October as well. The dcs are faring better than me as there's not a lot left!

QueenC {{{hugs}}}

kittyhello · 12/08/2018 10:50

Queen I feel your pain as I'm the same, I cba to lose a few pounds before holiday and I'm starting to regret it.

Shop glad df didn't need another op but sorry to hear he's been moved away from where you live.

Blingy I did a last minute holiday shop before I came away, where I am atm is casual but in October it's more of a resort place so needed more cover ups. I bought this one from Monsoon.

kaftann*

Am checking the thread hourly for news on Blair

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/08/2018 12:34

I wouldn't bother kitty honestly Grin this baby could not be more comfy where he is! I think I had a few random contractions yesterday with a bit of cramps, but I think it's going to take a sweep (tomorrow afternoon) to get things going.

Everyone that's funny about the acupuncture, 2 of DH's colleagues have sworn by it and the lady they used is very near you, so perhaps it's the same person. The physio I was seeing also does acupuncture but she was sceptical about it for labour, so I haven't bothered. Maybe next time!

Mara that is a lovely coat, I love how the AW purchasing has begun. I also saw Dry looking incredibly fab and chic in the breton and shorts!

QueenC I have unfollowed any instagrammers with young babies as I really don't want to be comparing (like the frugality). My baby's nursery is full of bright colours rather than muted Scandi chic Grin though I did buy him grey towels and a grey bath seat to match my admittedly Scandi chic bathroom.

QueenCelestial · 12/08/2018 12:56

Oh blair how disappointing for us all Grin. I find the frugality weird. Everyday is stories of Peggy and it makes me uncomfortable that she’s being shown to the world so much. I know stories disappear so there’s no online footprint as such but I feel a bit stalkerish knowing so much about someone’s baby

kittyhello · 12/08/2018 13:01

Forgot to say, super stylish coat Mara

Blair he does sound very comfy indeed 😂 he's making you all of us wait for his grand entrance into the world.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 12/08/2018 15:16

love love LOVE that coat Mara i wish i was even half as chic as you! sadly my natural style falls between eternal teenager and scruffbag!! Grin

Hope the sweep goes well blair and you soon have a happy , healthy baby in your arms Thanks

i feel so much better now it's cooled down a lot (sorry to all sun lovers!) it's not helped by the fact that one of my meds makes it difficult for me to regulate my body temp so i suffer badly if it's either too hot or too cold, i just can't hang on to a middle ground. still, i do feel much brighter now, not that i'm wishing for rain or anything but the coolness over the last few days has been a welcome thing

hope you enjoy your holiday blingy!

How are you doing Shop? how is your DF doing? is your DM coping okay with DF being where he is? Thanks

queenC i'm sorry you're feeling rubbishy about yourself/body. YOu are fab no matter what and i hope you feel better soon Thanks

BerniceBobsHerHair · 12/08/2018 17:07

Also popping in for BlairBabyWatch Grin

I love brights for babies too - fwiw I like Little Bird and Boden for boys. Also I saw lots of lovely baby clothes in the H&M conscious range -
clouds
stars
Love this

I feel bad for The Frugality also having to create content when being in that overwhelming reality of parenting a young baby - the challenges of freelance work I guess, it has made me very grateful for my maternity leave/s. And also the relative lack of social media when my DS1 was a baby.

Love that Marsha's DD is now the top guest at MUs.

I am hoping to be able to make the next one btw not as exciting a guest as Marsha's DD

Love the coat Mara - I am looking forward to wearing my Burberry prince of Wales check blazer in AW. Don't feel I have worn it enough yet. Is it just me or is autumn always a really short season?

I am thinking a bit about AW - have a yen for a white blazer but not sure if it would work for me or look a bit naff - am considering this Baukjen one. The wedding I went to, a chic French girl, of course, was wearing a white blazer with a black jumpsuit and looked fab.

Would also like a leopard coat and one of those boyfriend-y tweed-y Marant coats from a few years back like this - and a Barbour jacket...so all the coats basically!

QueenC you always look great whenever I've met you. Intrigued by the new job - have you retrained or same field?

shop hope things are ok with DF.

Glad you are feeling better One, the heat was a bit much for me but feels sacrilegious to say it!

Hope you have a great holiday Kitty - I couldn't open your link but loving Monsoon atm.

shopafrolic · 12/08/2018 19:04

Thanks for all the well wishes. Not great news as DF fell out of bed last night and was discovered by staff clinging onto the side of the bed :( This rehab place does not have the same staff levels and they are clearly stretched - I fear we have tougher times to come. DS is not liking me passing him from play date to play date either so it’s all getting v tricky.
QueenC I have deleted Insta from my phone and don’t miss it at all. I’ve realised most of these apps just give me massive FOMO so I have also snoozed a bunch of mums for 30 days who have been doing loads of holiday catch ups together without inviting DS or I. I don’t mind missing out but hate the fact that he isn’t being invited. Especially given I need people I can rely on right now.
In style news my new boyfriend jeans from Anna are absolutely fab and i’ve Worn them solidly for 4 days. Just need to find some trainers for AW. What is everyone wearing this year?
I have a new wardrobe for the spare room so finally somewhere to hang my winter coats and smart / cocktail dresses. V exciting.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 12/08/2018 19:52

oh no Shop your poor Df, that must have been very scary for him Sad i'm sorry there are no easy answers in it all for you, it sounds like it's taking a toll on all of you right now Thanks

bernice yeah it does feel wrong to say it was just a bit too hot doesn't it?!

I'm hankering after some glittery dr martens! might buy myself some for my birthday in january. i feel like a magpie constantly cooing over them haha

justasecond · 12/08/2018 20:46

Hi all
just back from hols. Had an amazing time but didn't get time to catch up with mnv at all. I just popped in to check on any BabyBlair news Smile
sorry to hear about df shop hope he gets better soon. Must be very stressful for all of you Flowers
I love a white blazer bernice
I think I am ok for a MU on the 22nd
Need to go back and check all the links and catch up now!

FedupNagging · 12/08/2018 23:12

Those H&M baby clothes are lovely-especially the grey all in one. Can't open your final link Bernice but white blazer looks good if impractical with dc's Grin

Loving your SM coat Mara

Congrats on the new job Queen & good luck with all your positive changes

It's a difficult time (again) for you Shop so sending positive thoughts your way. Hope df wasn't too traumatised after his fall. Social media/blogs etc can be such a headfuck so detrimental to mental health it's best to limit or not use at all. I've hidden loads of people on fb & stopped looking at blogs ages ago as always felt dissatisfied/not good enough etc etc

Glad you had fab hols Marsha & Justa & enjoy yours Everyone & Blingy

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Blair - really hope things get going - I can't bear the suspense any longer!!

maradesbois · 13/08/2018 08:11

Morning,

Good luck for today Blair, so exciting!

Love the H&M conscious clouds baby outfit posted by Bernice, gorgeous. Also B think the white blazer is nice but not sure if I can see you in it. Sounds silly to say that when we’ve never met (a situation hopefully to be rectified on 22nd!) but feel I have a good idea of your style from your posts and just not sure about this. I could be completely wrong though!

Vegas hope you can make the mu, think it will do you good.

One thanks for the nice words but I do only post the good outfits on here. Sparkly dms sound right up your street btw!

Blair sounds like a good strategy regarding sm ‘influencers’. I got rid of the ones who do nothing positive for me like witblog and Hannah S-T a while ago but still follow frugality, Katherine Ormerod and Pandora Sykes all of whom had babies around the same time. Despite their privilege I do feel a bit for the former two, don’t think they have found adapting to motherhood a walk in the park but have to portray it as such for the sake of their brand and get straight back to work. Also from a content point of view how to work the baby stuff in often seems a bit clumsy, am sure they have lost followers who can no longer identify. I love Pandora Sykes, she gives some insight in this article about the freebies and discount she receives. While her honesty is refreshing it also raises moral questions about someone living a lifestyle they can’t afford without the ‘gifting’ encouraging their followers to spend, spend, spend.

Right, must go and get ready for work, btw am up for a promotion, happy days!

libertyonhertravels · 13/08/2018 09:58

Oh exciting re potential promotion Mara - fingers crossed for you. I love that coat too - great buy.

Blair hope the sweep gets things underway today.

While thoughts on here are AW, it's starting to feel spring like here! I went to Auckland for a flying visit this weekend and checked out some shops. I absolutely loved this Fedora in Ivy. Sizing wasn't right though so looking for similar. I came across a shop selling Emily and Fin stuff and bought this top. It cost a lot more is NZD than sterling which is annoying but reality here.

Also browsed my Kiwi fave Kate Slyvester. Have to watch the $$$ with all the house stuff but I think I may deserve a new season treat. I love this skirt. It's absolutely stunning. The Tote bag in the same print is lovely too. This bomber jacket also caught my eye.

shopafrolic · 13/08/2018 12:05

Mara keeping everything crossed for you re: promotion - just brill

Longislandicetee · 13/08/2018 13:03

Hugs Shop, sorry to hear about your df falling, hoping he's okay today.

Mara, oooh exciting! Hope it comes through for you. Sending luck your way!

Looks like today is hopefully the day for BabyBlair to make his entrance into the world!

Lib, Fedora is awesome. Almost makes me want one, despite knowing I would look like an utter tool!Grin Love the printed top too.

Kitty, you did a link to Monsoon but couldn't

White blazer Bernice, with young dc?Shock I made sure my dcs had gone well past the messy toddler stage before i braved that again! #Brave!

Today, I am sorting out presents for dh last minute and wondered what kind of wallets your dh's have? I wanted to get him this Ralph Lauren shirt but looking at his wardrobe, i think he's got others like it so won't necessarily be excited about it, even though i think this one is nicer. Think Dry asked a while ago, how our dh's dress. Mine is a very preppy dresser - RL, Gant are staples.

I am getting him this Hackett/Aston Martin padded jacket, Tom Ford shaving oil and Bose headphones. But if anyone can help with the wallet then that would be great! ThanksHis current one is tatty and appears to have lots of slots.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 13/08/2018 13:32

blingy Dp has a card holder with a zipped change pocket on it from coach. we bought it while we were in america. it is basically just one zipped part and then a bunch of card slots. he finds it much better than a more traditional wallet and it doesn't take up much room at all in pockets

Longislandicetee · 13/08/2018 13:45

Thanks One. I was just looking at something like that. I couldn't work out whether that is what blokes use now?

I am now distracted as i just saw this divine lace cami. Grin

maradesbois · 13/08/2018 17:58

Wow Blingy am sure dh would be v happy to see you in that for his b’day Grin

For wallets my dh only uses cardholders too these days, currently has an hermès one I bought him for Christmas in buttery soft black leather.

I was doing a final sale shop for dsis’s birthday gift when these shoes fell into my basket. There’s an additional 20% off the sale price so a real bargain. Marsha I seem to remember you went up a half size for your pink suede ones, amirite? Hope so as was the only size left.

Shoes will be good for work, and I got told today the promotion is mine! Celebrating tonight with friends.
