I tried on those Dune slides & I loved them unfortunately my dodgy feet did not.

Viva usually fairly central London - meet around midday / 1ish - can go on until late but people come and go as they choose.

everyone lovely dress but think you made the right decision not getting it as the frills seems a bit fussy to me.

My packing was successful, just a couple of tops I didn’t weR as lived in dresses instead of shorts. I’ve been really pleased with all my summer purchases and the only mistakes have been the 2 pairs of sandals but that’s from a comfort thing rather than anything else. If they were comfy they both would have been worn loads.
I can’t make the September mu asits always a busy time with dc birthdays and also I’m meeting friends earlier that month. Will hopefully see you later in the year or next year.

Very excited to be off today, I am on a day trip out with the kids to the beach. Wearing a blue polka dot bikini under my blue and white stripe sun dress. And pink havianas. Let's hope I am still excited at the end of the day!!

Another hot day here. It’s just been too hot to do anything. Counting down till our Cornwall break now.

I think it was blair who asked about A/W wish lists. Here are a few things that I’ve seen that I’m considering. I definitely need more easy winter dresses - ones that are smartish but not too dressy that I could wear out or to work.

green spotty dress
claret dress
Stars dress
black short sleeved floral or long sleeved floral
And this sparkley number
I also probably need some new tan ankle boots.

Part of the reason I didn’t end up going for the D&G dress is that it would use up a good chunk of my budget and I definitely need to update my winter wardrobe. I got sick of wearing jeans / denim skirt and jumper on rotation last year.

Every I think you made a good decision to not go for the D&G dress, the pattern and fabric looked lovely but I feel the frill detail may have been too much and would probably date quite quickly. I love both N&T dresses.

Fairly it was me asking about the JCrew cover up, it's still full price here in the UK and I've left it too late to order for hols now.

Lib I hear you on the job front, any position lower than what you do what probably have you bored out of your mind. Hopefully in time your manager can be talked into letting you drop a day or 2.

QueenC it's funny, I have become less strict about colours too. I would still think about colours for occasion outfits though. And if something is not a neutral (navy, grey, khaki, white/cream, black) then it needs to be right.

Dream those espadrilles look like a great bargain! I am not too bad, just counting the days until the temperature is meant to drop to 21 degrees, can't wait :)

I took miniShop to Pizza Express today and there was a 12 day old baby in there. Made me almost broody (for about 30 seconds)
My most exciting purchase today was this fab teapot. I'm so excited it's ridiculous. Loose leaf tea and a good book on my new Kindle Oasis which DH bought me as he wanted my old Kindle.
It's all changed again with DF. They are now saying they have got as far as they can with him surgically and that it is down to the physio / OH to say what happens next. DM is due at the hospital today to find out more and then we'll discuss. Tricky as he will need some form of care. Hard to know where to start.

I don't know about September MU, i have a lot fo stuff on already plus a lot of medical appointments so although i'd like to be there, i can't say for absolute certain either way right now

Ooh that toy looks good Shop, so sorry to hear about df, sounds very hard but on the other hand at least you’re getting some answers. Hopefully soon you’ll know better what you are dealing with.

Everyone good call. The dress was beautiful but investing in some winter wardrobe updates like boots and day dresses sounds like a much better use of the budget.

lib fwiw I think kitty’s right that you’d be bored in a ‘lesser’ job, hang in there for the medium term then once they know you’re indispensable renegotiate your terms. Is dh on top of everything at home? How is dd at school now? I am finding ft work ok so far but someone is leaving and I am torn between wanting more responsibility and pushing to take on aspects of their job and staying just as I am with the good life balance and not home late etc.

Thanks Mara :) I'm really hoping something happens soon, as my sleep situation has got even worse than it has been (up 7 times last night for the loo, and lying awake from 4am to 6am on top!). It can't be worse when baby is here surely! I just hope I've got the energy for labour lol.

Hi Voguettes! Another day out with the kids today. 3rd day in a row we have been to the coast and have had a great time. It’s nice to be able to spend quality time alone with them. The last 2 days have been bikini under sundress but today is t-shirt and jeans.

Blair poor you. Although reading your post it sounded like you were describing my early years with my dc2. Let’s hope when the baby comes it’s actually like my dc1!!

Gah so annoyed. I called Anna to chase up the Golden Goose trainers I'd ordered. They have made a mistake with their stock and can't send them to me after all so have refunded. Can't bear it when stores can't sort their stock properly.

My pineapple mules arrived and they are lovely and a bargain too. Also bought the sandals which are much nicer than the picture. I've now got more sandals than I need.

Poor blair, everyone’s waiting in anticipation for the baby! Funny that you’ve rebelled against colours too. It’s not so much my clothes but accessories-lately I prefer my bags/shoes in a more muted shade rather than full on brights. And in patterns I’m less strict if every colour isn’t winter. I pretty much only wear blue and navy though!

I’ve got nothing yet on my AW wish list. I’ll be starting a new job which involves a uniform so I’m not going to need so much stuff and I won’t need workwear. I can see me just living in casual stuff to travel to/from work in and if I cycle to work I’ll be living in cycle wear! However that’s good as I’ll be training initially so will have no wage coming in!

Has it cooled down with everyone? I’m so used to dresses/shorts now that I can’t bear the thought of putting on jeans!

Another colour rebel here . I don't wear black but charcoal grey is sneaking in more and more and I've realised that as long as I wear gold tone earrings and the right lipstick I can get away with not sticking rigidly to the autumn palette.

I had a FB heart attack moment today - a person I went to school with posted a picture on a mutual friends timeline of me and her with our respective boyfriends when we were about 21. I actually gave a little yelp of horror when it popped up on my timeline. On the plus side it reminded me that I'm not ageing too badly, on the downside it's slightly tragic to see myself dressing like a middle aged woman when I was so young . Am very grateful that FB didn't exist in the 90's.

I agree, colours nearest the face are most important but for other stuff I often dip into summer or spring (I love coral in the summer!).

DF is being moved to a rehabilitation clinic today. Unfortunately it is a lot further away from us than the hospital but it's progress I guess. He could be there for up to 6 weeks.
