I suspect I’ll be doing the same on Monday, cherries. Such a shame because it’s a beautiful colour and it’s a rare red that works on me. Oh well.

Cherries I hope your daughter feels better soon. I missed why she is in hosp so I hope it isn’t too serious. It is always hard for us mums to see our babies going through anything tough. The mental strain alone is exhausting.

The white top/dress looks nice on you Never. The armholes on the dress I returned were huge. They reminded me of the singlets Australian surfers wear except a full side profile of my rather substantial bra was not as pleasant a sight as their tanned torsos!

Dave How did you get a free portabello dress?

The liv dress looks nice, far too long for me though at 5ft 2.

How short is the red shirt dress? I bought and rapidly returned the Tegan black dress. It looked like an oversized tent top and didn’t suit me at all, the worst part was the length though because at my height if something looks short, you either have to be a nineteen year old supermodel or look like you borrowed somebody else’s top.

whitesea You cant see it but the arm holes are HUGE from the side and the bit that sticks out with the ruffles looks messy from the side too. The picture doesn't really show the bagginess of it. You see far too much of my body through the armhole too. In the second picture, I have tried to show the expanse of space at both sides. It just all bags out too much.

It is the top I have take a photo of. I doubt I would suit the dress tbh. Too many ruffles.

It’s fairly short, Whitesea and it doesn’t help that the buttons stop about three inches before the bottom. Basically I have dresses and skirts that are that short that I am comfortable wearing but at the front, this really does just look like an oversize shirt and it looks a bit odd and undressed. It didn’t actually look tent-like though which I thought it might so it may well work rather better on your 5’2 as opposed to my 5’8.

Thank you Talisin. The Tegan was much shorter at the front so that didn’t help either. It was more than something you’d put on over your togs at the pool. It sounds like the red dress might be similar.

I won't be buying anything else at the moment as I have been on a bit of a spending spree the last couple of months. It's nice to see it in real life though. It doesn't looks see-through in those pics?

whitesea they sent me a damaged dress when the black one was constantly out of stock.

I asked them for a partial discount, but they wouldn't insisting they send me another dress, but couldn't give me any idea of when that would be as they were obviously waiting on returns.

In the end I emailed them saying I would keep the damaged dress and fix it myself as I wasn't confident I would get another in my size and that it wouldn't have something wrong with it as well.

In the meantime they had already sent me a replacement, so I kept one and sold the other on eBay for close to the original price.

If they'd just given me a few ££ off they wouldn't have lost £70 odd quid!

Thanks for your lovely comment Dave. I will try on the smaller one and decide then. It is a beautiful top. It is slightly see through at the bottom. I suppose that doesn't matter so much because at the bust it is double material. Not sure if the transparency issue is becauseI have sallow skin and it tends to make things more see through iykwim. I have this issue with white t-shirts all the time.

Or maybe everyone does? I would have thought if you are quite pale it may be less of an issue as there is less of a contrast. I'm not sure. Even with a nude bra on it can be tricky.

I’m very pale and while a nude bra tends to not show through a white top, pretty much anything else does. I can always see the waistline of whatever I’m wearing on my bottom half through a single layer white top.

I hate seeing the waistline actually. Wish there was a way to get round that without putting on a cami or vest.

Having said that, I can thoroughly recommend Fruit of the Loom tshirts on Amazon. Incredibly cheap, 100% cotton, shaped enough to be flattering, a variety of styles and necklines and the white ones are much less see through than any others I’ve owned. Size up though.

Well the 8 arrived and its a much better fit on me. Still not sure about it though. Its a bit see through at the bottom so you can see my outline and my denim outline. Not sure if that bothers me enough. I don't have a perfect silhouette - sport a bit of weight around my llower waist/ tummy although I am working on that . It is beautiful though. I like the slightly off white colour as it is perfect for me and slightly vintage. It also suits my colouring better than a stark bright white. Will post a picture if I get a moment. Kids about, dh about so need to grab a quiet moment when they are out or not about.
Need to decide today as I have other Hush returns and want to post them back as today is the last day I can make it to the POffice before I go away [excited!!!!]

I don't know about anyone else but this heat is a killer at night. I must have woken about a million times drenched.
Its lovely here today. Very very warm atm. Meant to rain tomorrow so am going to get all my washing done and packing done!!

I much prefer the photo on the right. It looks really nice. The other one is too fitted. It comes down to the price really and if you think it is worth the price?
