I am 5'7 btw

CakeInMyFace · 12/07/2018 22:20

Thanks everyone foryour thoughts - Sounds like the harems may not be the right sort of thing then. I want to rock my cast look so guess I'll look at some wide leg trousers instead!

neveradullmoment99 · 13/07/2018 08:17

Well about my latest order. Ordered the crochet tank. Beautiful. Its a little bit transparent but wirh a nude bra its ok. The crochet at the bottom is stunning. Very little difference between the medium and small. Was set to keep the looser one and then had second thoughts. Usually when i get the bigger of something it annoys me because it feels too big. So sending the medium back. Its a bit to roomy for me around the armholes and although is looser around my hips,I dont think it looks as good. The portobello top is stunning( but not on me)Sad However i think its because it is huge! In a 10!!! I have ordered the 8 which should arrive tomorrow. So we will see if its just a size issue( determined) The embroidery is to die for. The dress i dont like. Fabric is quite thick, dont like the colour, cant adjust the straps, bra would be on show at the back and the length is frumpy. Very good quality though and lined and comes with a belt. Just a no from me. Cant remember the name of it. Posted further up. It was in the sale. Shorts - black ones are great. Long star ones im wearing. Great for Scotland. Sandals are gorgeous in leopard print but we knew that already right? Im all spent our now so im ducking out of any purchase now for a while. That was a bloody fortune!
Oh and my boden tankini top arrived. I love it. Its super bright and so flattering. Hard ti get on and off. Sized up because of reviews. @ only£19 it is fab. Now waiting for my ebay swim shorts to come to go with it. Should cone today or tomorrow.Smile

cake I lived in harems after a couple of very bad breaks on my leg and ankle. Sorry I can't remember if it was while I had the cast on or after it came off. But I do remember buying 2 pairs of boot cut jeans that I was able to wear with the cast on! The casts are not hugely wide and I do have skinny legs although I can't say the same about my stomach ha ha. Post surgery with no cast the harems were so comfy and easy to pull on.

Redact · 13/07/2018 08:38

Sorry I should say I sized up, I bought harems in M when probs S would be usual size

Gilbert82 · 13/07/2018 09:01

I returned the leopard print Mia dress in the end, it just wasn’t flattering on me at all Sad

neveradullmoment99 · 13/07/2018 09:45

That's a shame Gilbert
Laska Enjoy your last day.
Cherries Hope all goes well with your dd's op.
Miffy Hope your holiday goes well - It was you that goes today?
Well as for me, got a few errands to do. Ebay parcels to post out, return some stuff locally, wash duvet covers and check the suitcases that we have everything we need. May even have to make a trip out to try and get some shorts for my dh. It has been a bit of a pain. I have had arguments about him going to find a pair that fit him. Fed up buying then him being fussy and me having to return time and time again. That's 4 pairs that I have had to return to different shops. He cant understand why I am getting pissed off!!!
Had a funny moment when my 10 year old ds saw my gorgeous hush star flip floppy things and they fit. He says they are cute. In fairness I suppose they could be unisex but he is NOT having them. I cannot believe the size of his feet. My 11 year old dd is only titchy in stature and he is racing in height over her. She is only a 2. He is nearly a 5 Shock and my feet are a 6!!!

Ooh ouch Cake. Can't offer any help on harems/amies but just wanted to send Flowers and hope you heal quickly and get better soon.

Wellhellothere101 · 13/07/2018 11:14

Hi everyone. Wonder if anyone has the relaxed printed crop trousers and has washed them. I currently have both a size 6 and 8 and don’t know which ones to keep. The 8 is a bit big on the waist and tummy and the 6 fits but is a slightly bit neat. The reviews online say they shrink in length when washed so maybe the 8 would be best to allow for shrinkage. Thanks! Looking forward to wearing them when we go on holiday to Los Angeles on Tuesday (squeeeel!)

I got some of my order and the white portobello dress is going back. I already have the black one and love it so was looking forward to getting the white version.

The issue is the armholes are huge. Whatever way I stand, my bra is on show. It is strange because the black dress’s arm holes are not as big. With the white one, I would have to wear a vest top underneath it. Also it is a dull white which to be fair would mean it would not lose its brightness after washing it but it is also not great on my skin tone.

Its puzzling tbh as am very happy with the black version.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/07/2018 15:45

Well the white Portobello top had the same issue @whitesea. It had gaping armholes and the tops of the arms where just big, fussy and untidy. I have sized down 2 sizes!! From a 12 to an 8! We will see.

Thank you @Ellapaella and @neveradullmoment99

Am still faffing about it!

Whitesea · 13/07/2018 16:06

I can’t size down with the white dress as my hips are definitely a twelve. It really is a lovely style but seems very badly sewn. If it was half the price I might have kept it for everyday wear but it is too expensive not to feel good in it. Shame really as I snapped it up as soon as I saw it online and I’m disappointed. I feel great in the black one.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/07/2018 16:31

Would you not just buy the top? its really beautiful.

DavetheCat2001 · 13/07/2018 16:50

Is anyone prepared to post o pic of the white Portobello dress/top in the flesh...pretty please?

Whitesea · 13/07/2018 17:03

Dave that would involve cleaning my room and the mirror 😀 Seriously though I returned it this morning as we are going away on Monday and I am trying to get organised.

Never I have the black top and dress. The white isn’t the right white for my skin tone anyway. The top is size 10 and the dress is size 12(I have big hips).

DavetheCat2001 · 13/07/2018 17:05

Have the black dress too and I love mine. I did have 2 in the same size at one point and one was definitely baggier than the other, so the sizing seems very hit and miss.

Mind you I got mine for free so not moaning too much! Grin

Talisin · 13/07/2018 17:07

Got the Liv dress, the Bloomsbury shirt dress in red and the embroidered Love jumper in charcoal today.

The Love jumper is the perfect fit slogan knit for me (and I’ve tried on multiple others in the past year and a half) so am keeping and will look forward to wearing later in the year.

The Bloomsbury is an utterly gorgeous red, but, as multiple reviews have said, it is short. Short doesn’t necessarily bother me but it does need to be something I would be able to wear for work and it just looks like an oversized shirt, rather than a shirt dress. I think I’ll try it with a few things over the weekend and make my decision then.

The Liv dress. Gorgeous. Completely and utterly. Keeper. I really thought this would be the one I returned as it looked like a style that just wouldn’t suit me because it would hang off my boobs and look like a tent. It’s actually slightly fitted (which doesn’t show up in the model pictues) and hangs beautifully as a result. I got my actual size in this and certainly couldn’t have gone any smaller (because boobs), it’s a silky, slightly shiney material and no stretch at all. The stars are pretty close up but look even better at a slight distance - defintely a day-into- evening dress. I’m 5’8 so it is a bit longer on me than on the 5’11 model but not significantly so.

ilovecherries · 13/07/2018 17:33

Sitting sweltering in hospital with DD. I think she’s had a bit of a hard time, but it went well. She’s in a single room so they are just letting me sit as long as she wants me to. Hoping she’ll be home by Monday. Been here since 6am, I’m almost ready to steal some of her drugs, my back, my bum and my feet are so sore!

ilovecherries · 13/07/2018 17:34

I sent the red Bloomsbury back, talisin, I just couldn’t make the length work. It was too short for a dress, then just didn’t look quite right as a shirt.

ilovecherries · 13/07/2018 17:39

Hello, I’ve washed my cropped florals. They stretch out a lot while you wear them, so for that reason alone I’d take the smallest size that fits you new. I think mine shrunk about 1.5 inches in the length in the wash, but not at all anywhere else, and only the first time they were washed. So in your case, I’d def go for the 6.

neveradullmoment99 · 13/07/2018 17:41

For you @Dave. Too much material under the sleeves although you dont see it too much in that photo. I may not even keep the smaller one as nor cinvinced by the neckline.

Thanks @ilovecherries God you know. They are quite short on me as it is so I wonder if I have been sent a pair that's been washed and returned. I think I might just hand wash them to be on the safe side.
