Very helpful laska. I doubt i will wear my dresses much. Previous years i have lived in shorts and vests. Like to get a tan in my legs. I dont really enjoy sunbathing so just like to catch a tan from walking around. Last time i was on holiday for 3 wks i wore my hush maxi dress about three times and my hush sun dress once.We will go out in the evening to eat a few times but not that much. The only reason i will wear the dresses is because they are all knee length. Im not taking any maxis this year!

The great thing about the dresses(and everything else I took) is they roll up very small and were hardly creased on arrival. I just hung them up and they were fine . Also they wash and dry well and I havent ironed anything !
1 only took 1 duffle wheely bag and that had our beach tent in also which took up most of the room..
I have loved the blue and geo Bay dresses most and the orange marble maxi. GW dress felt almost too sophistcated but love it also! The Marissa( even though it is a 10) seemed to 'grow' on wear.

We’re flying with jet2 so a 22kg allowance each, even though you do pay for it. I refuse to struggle with a lot of hand luggage on a plane - for me, the holiday starts the minute I hand my luggage over, then we can wander round with just a small rucksack. I’m rather Shock, Blush, andGrin to realise that this year there is the equiv of two sets of luggage NOT travelling with me. I never needed a seat belt extension in the past, but it was a close thing, so I’m looking forward to a) not worrying about the bloody seatbeltright up till the moment when I fasten it b) having more room in the seat - flew on a Dublin for a meeting a few weeks ago and the seats felt vast Smile, and then taking all my lovely new clothes. I may have to change several times a day...

Laska5772 · 12/07/2018 08:10

I tend to lounge in kaftan loose short thing(I bought 2 great cotton ones fromH&M several years and they come on every holiday) or bikini on terrace at house and wear the dresses when we go out or in evenings as we do eat out most nights. Am fair so tend not to sunbathe much but have caught some colour ...

Laska5772 · 12/07/2018 08:13

My bag as above inc tent and things like chargers some toiletries ( we buy here mostly) and other bits and pieces was 19kg and I have had far more than I needed to wear . I take a small rucsak on plaine

ilovecherries · 12/07/2018 08:16

I always feel I need more clothes as I do burn easily so my clothes do get covered in cream, plus I don’t tend to never not have something on. In the past I was also such a sweaty mess as well. The sleeveless maxis are a real departure for me. When I was fat I looked like a massive brick in a maxi dress, so never wore them.

ilovecherries · 12/07/2018 08:19

Yeah, I usually come in about 20kg, DH about 12, so I can always bag some of his allowance if I’m stuck.

Laska5772 · 12/07/2018 08:21

PLANE! !!!!FFS !!.Blush
Doesnt that feel fantastic Cherries next time tou see your false 'friend' tell her to stick that fact up her smug A Grin

Lucy shirt ....? Its really lovely but is it £69 lovely ( looks at it longingly)

neveradullmoment99 · 12/07/2018 09:01

Lucy shirt...off to google it....
It is quite overpriced. I'm not actually that fussed for the print. Too busy for me. I do love the colour though.

Glad I don't need to worry about baggage and only worry about what my dh might think if I take too much!!! I like to travel with as little as possible tbh. Cant stand having too much with me.
I loved wearing the maxi dress a few years back but I never wore it during the day. I love both of the dresses you got but for the type of holiday I am going on, doubt they would have been worn that much. I still would have bought one though had they come back in. I do love them.

The 5 of us are spending 2 weeks in Spain and I have booked 3 20kg bags, so that will have to do us. We don't need beach towels or too many toiletries as we are going to my aunt's apartment and she has tons of stuff there as well as washing machine. I usually get the kids to pack 5 daytime outfits and 3 suitable for going out. I try to get DH to do the same and then I apply the same rules to myself, but manage to sneak in a few extra Ts. Even on hols I like to get laundry done to avoid leaving too many SPF marks on clothes and also to avoid too much laundry on return. It helps keep the baggage down and we all know we end up wearing the same few things on repeat anyway!

My Piper dress is waiting for me to collect it at my parcel motel so I hope I love it :)
It has turned cool and cloudy here for the first day in forever. I am wearing (again) my Hush denim pencil skirt which has proven such a winner, with a light grey sweatshirt. First long sleeves in over a month!

miffy2 · 12/07/2018 12:41

Striped Piper in 12 is lovely. Very happy.

Now I need a bit of a discount so I can try the bikinis. You listening, Hush????

Ellapaella · 12/07/2018 13:57

The Peyton shirred dress is probably the only thing I'd still buy now if I had the spare cash (which I don't as putting everything aside for holiday treats now).
I also still want the star pendant but might go for the Lizzie Lane one that @Laska5772 linked when I get back from my hols.
Beach holiday in Devon coming up, making our way down to Devon in the camper van and then staying in a house virtually on a beach in North Devon.
So given the camping and the fact that I'll predominantly be on the beach I'll be mostly wearing shorts and t shirts and taking my heart embroidered sweater, two boxy jumpers in grey and pink, a few vest tops and a very warm hoodie in case it's cold!
And the obligatory rain coat of course!
I just need he sunshine to hold on a little bit longer, just to the end of July will be fine!

MinesaPinot · 12/07/2018 14:23

Reporting back on the Iris dress in Pink Cut about Stripe (size 12) and the Piper in Black (also size 12) which arrived today. They are both PERFECT and I am really pleased. Fit, length, fabric all great. I will definitely be taking them, plus my orange/turquoise panel dress to Greece in August. They will be invaluable. I am also taking my blue gingham Tori dress for a Little House on the Prairie vibe which will be great on a Greek island (not) Grin.

And picked up a strappy playsuit in the H&M sale for £5(!) today which will be perfect over my swimming costume.

And our e-ticket came through today so I'm ready! Only 6 weeks to go......

Laska5772 · 12/07/2018 16:33

Im betting on the Lucy shirt being in some future sale I think..It is overpriced and now i look at it again its viscose not cotton..

Laska5772 · 12/07/2018 16:35

Pinot Grin at Little House on the Prairie.. I like the new black Tori but Its not a style that will suit me..

CakeInMyFace · 12/07/2018 17:33

Hi all I've posted here a few times - I've ended up with a terrible ankle break, broken in 3 places and dislocated too. Confused

Im hospital awaiting surgery (day 6) and going to be in a cast for 8 weeks follower by a big boot thing. All summer plans out the window. Was wondering if anyone has the cropped harems and if they stretch enough to get over a big cast? Will need something comfy for slightly cooler days and won't be able to do jeans for a while.

AnotherOtter · 12/07/2018 17:56

Sorry to hear about your injury, Cake. The cropped harems are quite fitted at the bottom and I don't think they'd get over a large cast easily or without over stretching the material compared to the other side.

ilovecherries · 12/07/2018 18:07

Ouch, Cake. Sad. The Amies might work, I love mine and there is a 6 inch zip on the cuffs so they have more flexibility.

neveradullmoment99 · 12/07/2018 18:09

I also think the cropped harems are quite tight at the bottom but the amies have a zip and when I am too lazy I unzip them with my shoes on when trying things on

Hope your ankle gets better soon :)

Hi, can anyone help? I was thinking of ordering the harem trousers but now I might be having second thoughts. I was in JL the other day and tried on the harems in a small as that's all they had. They were actually quite a good fit even though I'm a 12-14, although I might still go medium for a slighter looser fit on the bum. But where I am a shortarse they were quite baggy just above the ankle cuff. I don't know, it's a lot of money to spend if I don't love them, and I can never be bothered with sending back etc if I order online.

Does anyone have the Amie joggers and the harems and can give a bit of a comparison on length, fit etc? I feel like my heart is saying harems but my head says Amies? 😂

dontcallmelen · 12/07/2018 20:35

@Cake oooh sounds awful, hope surgery goes well & speedy recovery 💐

neveradullmoment99 · 12/07/2018 20:43

Hanging
The amies are more straight up and down with a bit of bagginess at the top. I suppose it depends upon what size you buy. I would say they have a tapered leg. The harems tend to be fuller at the top - quite loose and baggy but are neat at the bottom of each where the elastic is. I don't have the full length harems. I have the short crop ones. They are quite neat on the calves but bag out a bit at the top. I am a 12 and buy an xs in both as I like them neat but beware the harems are quite neat over calves.

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 12/07/2018 21:59

@Hangingaroundtheportal I don't have the amies but these are the long Harems on me. I am a size 10 and these are an XS. I prefer them to not be as baggy as they are on the model on the Hush website. What I would say is that they are quite fitted on the ankle so bear that in mind.
