Spencer Wedding style

This was the wedding of the niece of Princess Diana; Celia McQuorquodale, whose mother is a Spencer.
I am not going to mention the most high profile female guest.
However I do like the frocks at a society wedding. I thought the mother of the bride Lady Sarah looked lovely. I think it gives us an idea of how the late Princess would have dressed.
Lady a Kitty looked great, although I thought floral print on her dress was over scale. I loved her hat.
Also lovely to see the Spencer Tiara on another bride.

Didn't like Lady K's dress at all, too garish. Beautiful shoes and hat though.

Cielia looks like Diana.

halfwitpicker · 18/06/2018 02:15

I didn't like what she who can't be named wore at all. Far too big for her.

Ididnthearanything · 18/06/2018 11:23

Who is 'she who shall not be named'??

queenofarles · 18/06/2018 11:27

Did I miss something? Why can't we name the person who wore that Oscar de la renta dress? Confused

I loved lady kitty's whole look, she is stunning Dolce and Gabbana must be Over the moon with her, lately they are trying to portray an image of nobilty wearing dolce gabbana trying to shake off the oligarch wife in dolce image they Wanted to make Amelia Windsor happen and failed.

GahWhatever · 18/06/2018 11:30

I loved Lady Jane Fellowes' coat. So jolly and really suited her.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/06/2018 11:36

If you click on the link in the OP, you can see her.
I just wanted to chat about clothes, and unfortunately it is impossible to discuss "she who cannot be named" without someone turning the whole thread into a slanging match. There are plenty of other threads on MN discussing her, and I am fed up of bunfights every time her name is mentioned.

She is no different to anyone new to the RF, finding their style, sometimes she looks amazing, sometimes she gets it wrong

Lady Kitty is doing a sterling job as a D&G muse. I do agree she comes across as a bit costume-y but she can really carry off bold looks.

Curiosity got the better of me and I googled. Agree, it's not great on her.

But I'm still curious. What have I missed? Why is She 'she who shall not be named'?

Ididnthearanything · 18/06/2018 11:39

Ah. I see. X-post CurlyWurly

Meghan's dress today at Ascot was an improvement - still drapey but better fitted and the hat made me think of Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. Eugenie's outfit was pretty too.

Jjacobb · 19/06/2018 17:25

I'm not keen on the Ascot dress. I think it's a little too casual and the black belt over the embroidery was a bit strange.
Sophie, Camilla and the Queen all looked fabulous.
I have to say Eugenia and Beatrice seemed to have made more of an effort than usual.

SheStoopsToConker · 19/06/2018 17:54

ShockPrincess Michael of Kent's face in those photos! She was a very attractive woman but she looks so lifted now. She must be Camilla's age or older but her face is unnaturally unlined. Camilla has never been a beauty but at least she looks natural and her face has quite a nice "lived-in" look.

RoseWhiteTips · 19/06/2018 18:01

Sophie rarely puts a foot wrong. And yes, I agree Eugenie looks lovely.

WipsGlitter · 19/06/2018 18:16

Meghan's dress at the wedding was lovely but miles too big.

Ascot is ok but nothing special. Do you think months ago she got a list of all the engagements and began planning her wardrobe?

On a separate point @CurlyWurlyTwirly i agree it's so frustrating trying to have a style convos about her. If you try to have it in chat then you're told to go to S&B and if you do it here you still get pounced on!! I love s bit of royal outfit reviewing!!

WipsGlitter · 19/06/2018 18:21

Had another look - love the hat.
Camilla has a "look" and sticks to it.
Sophie Wessex - gorgeous
Eugenie - good but the had did not need that tassel.

ShirleyPhallus · 19/06/2018 19:38

Lady Kitty really is so beautiful isn’t she

I love almost all of MM’s outfit choices - she’s so slender she carries off pantsuits and close fit tailored dresses perfectly

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 19/06/2018 21:03

@SheStoopsToConker
Princess Michael looks quite tragic actually, and agree that Camilla, has aged very pleasantly

@WipsGlitter
Agreed. Re Camilla & Sophie. Always spot on.
Eugenie looks gorgeous these days. She’s been wearing some lovely 50s style clothes; I wonder if her dress will be 50s style & if Beatrice will be her bridesmaid....

MM. Hmm. I thought the hat was stunning. To mind mind, the dress didn’t go with it at all. Looked like some kind of crimplene work uniform with the buttons and collar. She’s wearing Givenchy; I do wonder how hard it would be for her to channel Audrey Hepburn

cathyandclare · 19/06/2018 21:14

I can't stop staring at MM, think she looks stunning at Ascot. Her hat and makeup are fabulous, I like the dress too, although I'd look like I'm working in a bakery in it. Love Camilla too and Eugenie looks great. Her Maj is rocking the acid brights at the moment isn't she?

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/06/2018 21:15

@WipsGlitter I love a bit of royal style chat too. Unfortunately there are some who just can't stick to critiquing the outfits and start going on about the DoS being fake/too American/too "unsuitable" for the royal family etc etc. I'm happy to just discuss the clothes!

Eugenie suits the 50s silhouette as she has a small waist and large bust - today's outfit was lovely but the dress she wore for the royal wedding didn't suit her at all.

2up2manydown · 19/06/2018 21:16

Givenchy again though? So many British brands for whom she could generate publicity.

cathyandclare · 19/06/2018 21:18

Givenchy has a British designer though doesn't it?

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/06/2018 21:23

Yep. Claire Waight Keller (sp?), the lead designer, is brutish.

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/06/2018 21:23

British! Though she may be brutish too for all we know...

2up2manydown · 19/06/2018 21:31

I don’t think having a British-born designer makes Givenchy a British design company.
