Yes.
I imagine they favour viscose garments.
(Sniff)

Another day of meetings then work.

I'm not in the mood tbh

Glad schools out then another 4 weeks here! 😣

MrsLucas · 19/06/2018 08:13

Grin at Fennel.

PestymcPestFace · 19/06/2018 08:16

OMG Fennel saw that thread when it was new and was tempted to add a "Feck off, its lovely but I don't need another dress". I hope you got it in both colours. I do not need another dress I didn't even notice it was you, obviously I couldn't hold grudges because I can't read usernames.

SotD will be A kiss by the Fireside (again), which is even more yummy than Another Kiss, apparently it just took a few years to mature properly Grin it lasts all day and into the next day.

YSL Kouros was the male equivalent of Poison, every bloke on the pull wore it in the eighties.

Pest- that's why I thought it was what my flatmate wore. Now I have to contact him and ask him and he will be scared!

I am in Bel Respiro, which after the first euw aftershave thing settles into a very understated summery scent. I've only been to the supermarket and it's already faded though, so nice as it is, no way Jose does it justify Exclusifs ££££££s. I shall await a PP dupe.

PestymcPestFace · 19/06/2018 08:28

I shall be wearing this toast dress today. It is not really at all flattering, but I love it. Pockets, pockets, pockets...

Should we add Amish dresses to the Venn diagram?

@MrsR, thank you very much. The postie brought the Outdoors this morning, so another score for Royal Mail efficiency. Two minutes in, and the notes are shifting really quickly so will refrain from full comment until later, except to note that it's powerful. I think it needs taking outdoors with SockDog.

@Fennel, I liked the dress too! And both colours. However, my clothing budget is blown for now, except for charity/secondhand buys.

I think anyone in the market for a linen apron should check these. A birthday gift from my dSis a couple of years ago and the only way to keep me from tipping fat and gravy over clothing. And I have seen much worse at far higher prices.

UnnecessaryFennel · 19/06/2018 09:28

They're still banging on about 'frumpy sacks' over on the dress thread. I've given up. People are odd.

I've already had two compliments this morning on my lovely frock

Bodhi Language is doing the biz this morning. Lovely sweet zen-like sandalwood Grin

PlausibleSuit · 19/06/2018 10:34

Kouros used to be a big thing for The Gays (of which I am one), didn't it? Although its star has waned now. Paul O'Grady used to have a line about how in the 80s you didn't need gaydar, you just had to get on a plane and chat up the first flight attendant who whiffed of Kouros. Grin

Doing business development today - my least favourite job. SOTD is Mugler A*Men Pure Havane. It started out a bit OTT, like I'd rolled around in a vat of Cadbury's Caramel, but now the cigar notes have started to come through I'm feeling better disposed towards it.

BlueKittens · 19/06/2018 11:10

I like the dress. People are such bitcheswitches. You didn’t even ask for their opinions!

Stay here Fennel it’s safe here.

Do we have the first man in our little mn corner plausible? Yeay I can ask on my DH behalf - he loves scents too

I’m giving L’Artisan Skin on Skin a proper run out today. Iris and leather yum yum

positivepineapple · 19/06/2018 11:29

Fennel I really like the dress! (although that style does sadly look a bit crap on me) I don't think my neck is long enough - if that makes sense.

TeenyFloofyKittensMakeMeCry · 19/06/2018 11:36

My father used to wear Kouros Grin

I can't find the dress thread! I bet it's lovely - you just should have asked here, fennel Smile pest I have an identical (but not Toast!) one in black, I love pockets! DH calls it my "artsy primary school teacher/children's TV presenter dress" Blush Talking of aprons and pockets I was literally just saying I need a frilly apron with pockets to carry my phone things about the house, instead of the wheeled walker thing I'm being pointed at Hmm

Raingods marzipan you say?! I need this! Have you tried MANDORLO DI SICILIA? It's gorgeous for Marzipan lovers.

Seriously (sorry CT I love your lipsticks) but WTF is bedtime make up all about? I do have perfumes strictly for sleeping Blushbut make up? Wouldn't it get all over your pillowcases?!

SOTD is chlorine (despite a thorough shower - why?!) and the very last barely there dregs of the Prada Iris sample I thought I had finished. Bliss. I really must do a PP order. I see they do a Creed Viking dupe too...

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 19/06/2018 11:37

fennel I also like the dress. Yikes to the comments on that thread. I can’t fit into any of my dresses at the minute (still carrying baby weight) so am buying perfume instead. SOTD Scenthusiasm. Hello to newbies Smile

ThenCameTheFools · 19/06/2018 11:50

Oh, maybe my mate was wearing Kouros after all! I have FB'd him so will let you know (assuming he doesn't peg me as a madster and not reply)

I bought some CT foundation on the back of a sample I had. I loved the sample, loved it so very much- got the full bottle- same foundation- meh. Ebayed it. What's that all about then? Do they put something "magic" in the samples to make you fork out?

I am testing vintage Heaven Sent on a strip and am immediately taken back to my gran taking us grandchildren to the open air lido in summer. It's very old lady (which as we know means totes magnificent!) aldehydey, powdery, beautiful. I won't wear it- but it's gone into the Harrods wicker hamper of memories.

OCSock · 19/06/2018 11:51

The original Paco Rabanne aftershave is the scent I associate with 80s men on the pull; it was everywhere, but I quite liked it to start (not on me).

MrsR, I think the MrsGloss Outdoors is very woodsy indeed. I sprayed it before going in the shower, and put on waaay too much, so tried a more circumspect application after. I don't actively dislike it, because I love moss and vetiver but not reach for it too often. Wonder whether SockJr would like a go with it...to be continued.

MrsLucas · 19/06/2018 12:28

Plausible - I have Pure Havane in my Scent addict queue. I lurrve tobacco. Let me know how it develops.

I'm also now on a nostalgia jag and will be looking for a sample of Kouros tonight. A LT/TS five star.

Blue - I am regularly swathed in vintage aftershave, and try and ignore conventions about men and women's fragrance, because a great smell is a great smell. I love the whole Scent and Subversion narrative around how perfumers have played with these boundaries. (Don't get me started on ebay search terms and defaults and the way algorithms are reinforcing stereotypical gender distinctions!).

PlausibleSuit · 19/06/2018 12:31

Do we have the first man in our little mn corner plausible?
Perhaps but rest assured I'm not one of those BEHOLD! types who come on to mn to cause bother. I just like wafting around in nice-scented items. Grin And I hope, sometimes, that I am that nice-scented item.

Ask away, although I do spend more time in Chanel No.19 than I do in Invictus, truth be told. As well as the aforementioned Elizabeth Taylor Passion, and it ain't the men's one I'm spritzing. Straight men sometimes find me alarming...

Some of the comments on that dress thread are Shock

PlausibleSuit · 19/06/2018 13:10

I'm undecided, MrsL. It's pleasant, but I'm not getting much actual tobacco. There was a brief waft of sweetish cigars earlier but that's gone now, and I'm left with a faintly smoky variation of that Mugler candy-cane caramel note.

Angel and A*Men will always be on my shelf but I've yet to find a flanker of either that I think is sufficiently distinct to be FB-worthy. I'm going to try out Alien later this week, though. Given my love of bold florals and punchy perfumes I have a feeling Alien and I will get on rather well...

mrsreynolds · 19/06/2018 13:58

Plausible...welcome. another passion can here 😁

Sock...mrsgloss outdoors is very unisex imo

mrsreynolds · 19/06/2018 14:12

Passion fan

mrsreynolds · 19/06/2018 14:24

You may prefer indoors sock

It's lighter

mrsreynolds · 19/06/2018 16:00

4160 fans.....I've still got 7mls of mrsgloss indoors and 2.5 mls each of another kiss by the fireside and freeway if anyone wants them?

Happy to send and spreaf the love or for swops if anyone has any samsara they could decant for me.

I've got - yet another - meeting later. And I need to ask a favour...hmmm...maybe Oscar de la renta

OCSock · 19/06/2018 16:51

Outdoors has softened very pleasantly; it's just the opening that hit me (and possibly the third squirt), and I am now enjoying a softly vetiver drydown.

mrsreynolds · 19/06/2018 16:52

Blimey 3 squirts! 😁
Glad you like it

PlausibleSuit · 19/06/2018 17:09

Passion is amazing MrsR

Would I like White Diamonds, I wonder? I still vaguely remember the TV ad from the 80s where she wanders around someone else's card game, hissing "WHITE DIAMONDSSSSSS" at people from behind a palm frond.

PlausibleSuit · 19/06/2018 17:10

80s 90s I mean
