gin I did wonder about the jamie t shirt dress but I think the shape wouldn’t flatter me, but with a belt as you described it could be rather nice...mmm
I was sooooo tempted by the Devore top! But I’m a very lazy handwasher and wasn’t sure I’d get enough wear, plus it looks rather voluminous online (but Mrs looked beautiful in it in an earlier thread).
I’ll be interested to hear what you think

ilovecherries · 23/06/2018 17:25

What sort of belt would you wear with the long dresses? I feel I would need something that dipped at the front and sat more on my hips than waist, but I may be wrong with that. I have no idea how to choose a nice belt.

SoyYo · 23/06/2018 17:34

cherries I guess it depends on dress style but for something like the Jamie t shirt, I’m thinking a skinny leather belt at the waist is more than enough? It does depend on the overall style and fabric weight.
With a more voluminous skirt vs a more fitted top a wider belt lower down would look good, but on the Jamie it may not “sit” right?
It’s all a matter of trial/error. Boden usually have skinny/wide belts in the sale so you could get a metallic or neutral of each width and play around with them...
It’ll be interesting to read what type belt gin wore.

SoyYo · 23/06/2018 17:53

finger the embroidered relaxed jeans are in the sale, so you may like to try those instead of the star jeans, I didn’t realise till I looked again. I’m just under 5 4” tall and they come just above my ankle. I’d say try your usual 14 in this style.

Ditto the Holly cropped jeans (I’ve got those from previous seasons) and the Holly cropped have a LOT of elastane so you may even want to size down to a 12.

SoyYo · 23/06/2018 18:02

Btw I tried earlier in the season one of the linen v neck jumpers but like many of you wasn’t impressed with fabric thinness so didn’t bother to buy in the sale.
If you don’t mind the ubiquitous Hush star (I like it but it has become rather common lately with all retailers doing star tops) then the Stella reversible is really flattering and a good (but not bulky) summer jumper weight.
Right I’ll shut up now and go back to cuddling our old sick cat who we hope with lots of TLC will recover so as not to have to make the awful decision of euthanasia...he’s been a member of our family for 18 years and such a lovely friend. He’s not in pain, just extremely poorly but we’re still hoping for a recovery...

EachandEveryone · 23/06/2018 18:08

Aw, poor puss. I will no doubt see you on the litter tray. I hope hes liking the warm weather.

Someone once told me that greys not my colour which stopped me from buying the reversable today.

SoyYo · 23/06/2018 18:39

Oh each we’ve all been in tears with him. He’s diabetic and we have to give him insulin shots twice a day (for the last 5 years) but he’s really struggling now 😿 vet said give him a week to see if there’s a turnaround. I’m in Paris with work from Monday and DH in office so hoping he perks up over weekend. Lucky our DC are home and have agreed to look after him next week.

On the reversible Stella the red/hibiscus side is the “proper” side with the grey star, the reversible side is the grey but labels need to be removed to wear it that way round.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/06/2018 18:48

Btw hope your recovery is progressing well each Flowers
If you or cherries are interested in the Clarks fitflop sandals I love for my wide fallen arch feet I’m linking here. I have them in black, they have a bit of “bling” and other colours on the outlet store, but they’re so very comfortable and hard wearing I don’t mind. They’re not leather though. If you have wide feet I recommend you go up a whole size and then it’s a perfect fit (I buy a 6 for my size 5 feet)
I’ve taken them on long walks, literally every holiday, in the sea, you name it and it took 4 years to finally break them. I love them so much I’ve ordered 2 pairs in case they never do them again and keep a spare new pair for future summers/hols:
www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/p/203574774

I also got these leather trainers/skater plimsoles, bargain in the sale, usual size is wide and I have them already in silver, they’re virtually indestructible and comfortable and they have lots of colours in the sale
www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/search/?text=Glove+pupet
I got the blue and snakeskin ones
www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/search/?text=Glove+pupet

And I also received these which are supremely soft suede (also inside) for work, went half a size up to ensure a comfortable fit on me and they’re also very comfy and if I ruin them this summer at £20 in the sale I won’t mind at all Smile
www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/p/48511650

Anyway not Hush but in case anyone with wide problematic feet needs bargain quality shoes

ilovecherries · 23/06/2018 19:40

Poor cat :(. We’ve been nursing our dog along on a shaky peg for a couple of years. I keep thinking the end is near then she gets another lease of life. I shall miss her terribly though. Honestly, animals break your heart sometimes.

never, I think the Iris is too small. The material is pulled in a straight line between my boobs. If a 14 came back in stock I’d try it, but I think it would be too big everywhere else. I’ve ordered Jamie to give it a try - I really just need one more holiday dress. Ordered from JL though as the free delivery code no longer works on the Hush site, even if you put a load of stuff in your basket (tried that to see if there was a point where it would give you free delivery).

I will look at those sandals, Soy.

EachandEveryone · 23/06/2018 19:52

I’ll have a good look later. Im dreading finding decent work shoes for 12 hour shifts. Everyone recomnended the sketchers ones but im not impressed. Everything feels so tight by the end of the day.

dingodollarman · 23/06/2018 20:37

Does anyone know how I can return my stuff for free?! I stupidly thought it was free delivery AND free returns

dingodollarman · 23/06/2018 20:38

does anyone have the linen stripe v neck jumper? I can't decide whether to keep or not...

Ellapaella · 23/06/2018 21:01

@EachandEveryone fellow nurse here.. you need Croc Mary Janes. The most comfortable shoe ever. Like walking on cushions. Crocs may not be trendy but by god they are comfortable!

PlantsOfPerspective · 23/06/2018 21:05

Super-comfortable shoes, but £:

EachandEveryone · 23/06/2018 21:05

I dont think they are wide enough for my bunion!!! I need hand made my feet are a disgrace. I blame it on winkle pickers.

Notmybag · 23/06/2018 21:12

Anyone have the Audrey jacket?
Trying to decide on 12 or 14

Theonlyoneiknow · 23/06/2018 21:15

Hi Ladies! haven't been on here for a while but bought a few sneaky sale purchases and thought I would share my thoughts!

Striped Aimee Joggers - deffo going back! I am too short at 157cm

Like the Neve pinstripe dress so keeping that. Also like the Nancy dress but going back as cannot justify £50 on it. Frayed denim dress in white also going back as looks like a big sack. Love the leopard joggers but need a smaller size and sadly OOS. Tabitha maxi skirt - I couldn't do this up and I had gone up 2 sizes! So also going back. Keeping Happy Days tshirt !

If you need to choose between a 12 and 14 with the Audrey , then my guess would be a 12.

dingo, the free returns label is on a sticky underneath the returns form (it looks like a slim A4 leaflet, with your invoice on one side, and the returns label on the other).

neveradullmoment99 · 23/06/2018 21:31

Well opened my parcel and most of it is a disappointment.
To start with, the good. Love the black star pool slides. OMG they are so comfy and they are just gorgeous. I love, love love them.
Tile print Grecian top size 12 - huge. Its going back.
Gorgeous turquoise Grecian top - I like and will be useful and it was cheap so I will keep.
Gingham dress - It actually suits me but there is too much material at the back and I dislike the material. It also feels too thick. I will try on again as I have my older ds around the house atm so cant really look and evaluate properly.
Leopard dress seems big on the bust and narrow on the legs. It was just a quick try on but will do it properly later. However seems far to warm for Italy in July. It is robustly lined and I just cant see how it would feel cooling to wear.
The black t-shirt with embroidered stars was extremely disappointing. Had envisaged a lovely light cotton and instead its like brushed cotton. Its also quite boxy. Not overly keen.
The black washed jacket. Its ok. I'm not sure I am in love enough to keep it.
So the two keepers for the moment are the Grecian top and pool star slides.

The only I love that skirt on you. It really suits you. The white dress just looks quite big on you. I wasn't keen on the striped amie's either when I ordered them seasons past. They seem to do a weird thing at the bum with the lines. I returned them.

Theonlyoneiknow · 23/06/2018 22:03

Thanks never but I can only do the zip half up and it really digs in at the waist. Bigger sizes are OOS, as is the dress.....

I didn't own any maxi skirts until this summer when I decided to change what I wear a bit as was so sick of wearing the same old stuff. Fortunately some nice ones from Asos and Tesco!! I have a pink grecian top from a couple of years ago. Hopefully heatwave comes to Scotland too so can wear some summer pieces! Off to Jersey soon - 2w until school breaks up here. Although will need to pack for a variety of temps in Jersey i think!

I also picked up the Delilah fringe top in black which is nice but gapes a bit at the back.

OOFOS are also mega comfortable sandals that support your arches.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/06/2018 22:15

Its meant to come to Scotland! Well here in the Glasgow area starting tomorrow. Its supposedly going to be about 20 and climb up to around 24 on Tuesday and 26 on Thursday if the weather forecast is to be believed. Shame about the skirt as it suits you and I really like it with the tee that you have on!

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 23/06/2018 22:17

I really love the leopard print sundress but its incredibly gapey at the bust and feel its just too much. The size 10 wouldn't fit me on the hips as it fits me in the 12 but is narrow but not uncomfortable. I just know the 10 wouldn't fit. Shame really.
