I’m just on the train now, just passing Motherwell :). We had a good poke round the cos sale but didn’t buy anything although I liked several things. May order them online as would be easier to return. Had a productive meeting, daughter met me about 3 and we had dinner in Princes Square. The trousers have made it to the wash basket, will deal with them nervously tomorrow.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/06/2018 19:39

Just remember to iron while damp. I haven't ever ordered anything from Cos. I do like some of the minimalist looks but I am always put off by sizes as I am never sure if it will fit and cba with returns!
Glad you had a good day with your meeting and daughter :) I haven't been to princess square for ages. I haven't ever visited Cos in Glasgow. I can't even remember where it is!!! Is it on Buchanan street?

No, it’s upstairs in Princes Square. It’s quite a nice, peaceful shop.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/06/2018 20:34

It can be quite a calming place to go if it is during the week :)

AFingerofFudge · 19/06/2018 07:23

Was just going to say the same thing!!

DavetheCat2001 · 19/06/2018 07:42

I'm keeping the Marissa. Think it works well with shorts and will get lots of wear on it in Spain later this year.

Oooooooh Sale!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up!

Whitesea · 19/06/2018 08:46

I was wondering why their website has all past seasin’s clothes back on it. Where did you see the sale date? I just looked at my promotions inbox but didn’t spit it.

Whitesea · 19/06/2018 08:46
  • spot! My phone’s predictive text is so irritating.
DavetheCat2001 · 19/06/2018 09:03

It says it on the website.

Nearlyadoctor · 19/06/2018 10:06

Whitesea where are you finding past season clothes ? I can only see current season on the website

ilovecherries · 19/06/2018 10:37

I’m not objecting to sales, but I was just thinking as I wandered round the shops yesterday about what comes next? Are autumn clothes going to start appearing in July or is there a ‘high summer’ season? My summer holidays aren’t till mid September!

ilovecherries · 19/06/2018 11:29

Wide trouser update. Before washing inside leg was 28.5. Post cold hand wash (by hand Angry) they were 26. I’ve stood ironing them wet for for about 20 mins, they are now 27. They are currently on the line drying off round the waist etc then I will iron and measure again. But feeling veryAngry. At that kind of shrinkage the fabric clearly hasn’t been pre shrunk which I don’t think is an unreasonable expectation at that price point, and really , who has the time or inclination to stand ironing wet clothes. And timing the washing so you’ll actually be around to do it.

Ellapaella · 19/06/2018 12:02

I hate the in between seasons - it'll just be the same stuff as there is now until A/W in October.
Having said that I love September/October. Still warm during the day but the cooler evenings drawing in, I love buying knitwear and winter boots so I almost can't wait!

Ellapaella · 19/06/2018 12:09

What material are the trousers? Ironing for 20 minutes sounds like way too much faff!
They have lots of similar wide leg stripe trousers in all the high street stores at the moment at half the price, I'd be making a big complaint!

Whitesea · 19/06/2018 12:12

On the site! Clothes I bought in the last sale are back up at full price. I’ve no doubt they will be reduced again and they will shift a few more and they will reappear in the next sale and the following one too. Why don’t they just do a proper clearout instead of bringing back a skirt which is at least two years old?!!?!

DavetheCat2001 · 19/06/2018 12:25

Girlfriend chino's.

They're lovely Dave. Look great on you. Are you pleased with them?

DavetheCat2001 · 19/06/2018 13:58

Thanks ella

I do really like them, they are a little snug round the waist, but not so bad that they are uncomfortable (yet!)

DavetheCat2001 · 19/06/2018 14:05

Really nice soft material too.

Ellapaella · 19/06/2018 14:09

They'll probably loosen up after a few wears Dave.

DavetheCat2001 · 19/06/2018 14:11

Thanks..they're not the sort of thing I usually buy..more a jeans person, but think these will make a nice change.

Just waiting for my 2 refunds to come through now..one from Hush and one from JL..having trouble with Royal Mail for the one to Hush as it looks from the tracking info online that they are trying to send it back to me rather than Hush Confused

On hold to RM CS right now...sigh.

DownHereInTheHorridHouse · 19/06/2018 15:40

I'm really struggling with sizing - was going to try and get prepared for the sale, but, as a non-expert in Hush, I am just bewildered by how far to take the vanity sizing Sad.

Just got some Bryce culottes from JL - I'm a (fat) 14, ordered the 12 as I knew their stuff was generous to say the least. I'd need an 8 - they are absolutely massive. Is this the rule of thumb? I've never been too bothered with jumpers as I like those baggy, but with skirts, trousers, fitted jackets - do you have to go down THREE sizes? Shock
