Everyone feel better soon

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/05/2018 11:05

That does sound fab Shop. I would really like a jumpsuit this year but I think it's going to have to be an autumn one!

Oh no Everyone it's horrible having a cold in the spring/summer, hope you feel better soon.

I've never really had to worry about big boobs dressing before, but I'd guess my boobs are now about 32G, which is quite a difference from my previous 30F. I hope they don't grow any more after baby comes as I already feel top heavy! Buying soft cup bras has been an absolute nightmare (hundreds spent on bras that all went back) and I've resorted to stretchy crop top type ones. Can't wait til I can buy wired ones again, even the flexi wire nursing type.

I wear nude hold ups to work at this time of year. Can't really help on trousers, as the few pairs I have are navy or black! I thought what about grey but it didn't seem very inspired, I think other colours are more on trend atm.

kittyhello · 12/05/2018 12:25

Queen in summer I swap black trousers and top for a navy Whistles dress, the same style as my giraffe print one. No tights Grin I wear white trousers with a short sleeve Uniqlo merino sweater. A Navy blouse and white trousers would look great together. Next have white trousers. I also wear a pleated skirt with a Breton top. Have you thought about swapping jeans for a denim skirt? I also wear a denim dress. My work is smart casual too.

Longislandicetee · 12/05/2018 12:34

Hello everyone! Have been scrolling back over the last few days and loving the links. I also realised that I didn't correct Lib - i went to church in shorts and t-shirt not a crop top! Shock yes i realise it makes very little difference

QueenC, my LKB espadrilles arrived. I was 50/50 about them, and dh doesn't like them. I ordered the orange ones to be summery and he doesn't think it works. SadI will try and send you a picture later.

Shop, i am envious of you having a girly trip overseas. Envy. We are going on holiday in 2 weeks time, so i have started pulling out the holiday clothes to work out what i am ditching and keeping. Thinking about it reminded me of Dry's question on designer vs high street. My holiday wardrobe is definitely high street, because at best, it will get worn for 4 weeks of the year. What i am not very good at, is turning them over and getting new stuff in. I am still wearing a couple of holiday dresses from about 15 years ago!Blush A few years ago I made the decision to wear designer (mostly) because I figured it would make me more sensible about wearing stuff. My logic is that I am not going to buy too many £1,500 dresses each year, but if i took that whole amount and spent it on a high street wardrobe, i would have a raging addiction to shopping and never do anything else!

The weather has been a bit weird this week, I am have been wearing McQueen knit dresses with 10 denier tights. Unlike Amber, I do go bare legged though when it gets warm.Grin

libertyonhertravels · 12/05/2018 12:49

Thanks all for the sympathy! It’s been so full on lately. I have been on the road this week as I cover a big area in my new job so was away overnight as distances are too long to drive in one day. DD is not impressed with this element of my new role! The hockey thing is still bugging me as the entire year group parents were emailed to inform them that a team had been put at risk due to ‘a child pulling out of their commitment to play’ Angry Angry Angry. I’m going to book an appointment with the head teacher as I am absolutely raging about it. NZ schools do take sport quite seriously but I’ve asked a few colleagues and they have confirmed this is over the top even by NZ sporting standards (and yes, for the record the age group here is 7/8).

And breath… our new house needs a full rewire which we’re having done before we move in. I am so looking forward to the end of a long period of living out of boxes.

One your housemate sounds like a complete and utter arse. Silent contempt is the way to go (or failing that use Amber’s line).

Blair I really feel for you – SPD and uncomfortable boobs, it will all be worth it when baby arrives but I feel it’s only fair to warn you that the boobs probably will get bigger at least initially!

Mara your post made me teary – I would so love a natter and a wine with you and your post just gave me a flashback to that lovely evening out we had before I left. Best of luck with the interview.

Shop and QueenC I am the same with too much flesh on display – again I am romantic classic so maybe it’s the classic bit but I feel all wrong in anything too revealing. And Amber I am with you with tights at work, it has to be v v hot for me to go bare legged at work. Though that said I’m having a nightmare tracking down decent nude tights over here. So far all the ones I have tried have been way too Nora Batty and I’ve had several days of feeling self-conscious in nude tights that just don’t work.

Marsha how are things with DD? Have been thinking about you.

Everyone I hope you feel better today. I loved the Kylie reference too and those sequin shorts you linked were fantastic – oh to have the legs (and ass and tummy) to even attempt them Grin. Love your new slides.

I rarely do trousers at work QueenC. I had some navy Uniqlo culottes which I wore to death last summer in London. I can’t quite see you in culottes though. What about something with a stripe down the side like these Me & Em ones? So still black/navy but a slightly different look to just plain ones?

Shop I am really tempted by the flamingo print Hobbs shirt you linked. Is the white soft / creamy enough for me do you think?

libertyonhertravels · 12/05/2018 12:58

Some purchases...

Gucci bag and Anna Thomas cardigan both via TradeMe. Very happy with both. Bought a Kate Sylvester brown tweed jacket tonight too which I'm not sure about but decided was worth a punt at $40!

. T-shirt is much better than a crop top at church Grin.

shopafrolic · 12/05/2018 13:35

Waves to Lib I’ll have another look in Hobbs and send pics x
Blair I got soft lace bras without wires from M&S when pregnant and JoJos were also good.
And I hate to say it but they will get bigger Blush

DryWhiteagainW · 12/05/2018 17:22

QueenC this time of year I wear 7/8 Capri trousers to work. (I have 4 pairs of Banana Republic Sloan fit Shock . Mine are black mostly with one caramel and a burgundy pair .....I have loads of blouses (frilly), lightweight cotton knits, tops and cardis. Navy always confuses me Confused I could never get my head round what colour footwear and different navys drive my matchy ocd completely nuts.Grin

DryWhiteagainW · 12/05/2018 17:22

And Shop both pairs of black shorts look perfect

shopafrolic · 12/05/2018 18:40

In a rush as going out tonight but those Zara shorts are incredible Blair unfortunately I need to size up as they are a bit snug but great fabric and cut Flowers

Stokey · 12/05/2018 19:18

Hush dress Shop. I also have the midi version which I think I prefer.

That thread is a bit bonkers Everyone can't believe they've managed so many messages just on one shop - and I say that as a Hush fan.

Hello to everyone one else.... Sorry to hear about your sore boobs, Blair, and yes they will unbelievably grow more!

QueenCornflower · 12/05/2018 19:21

lib that is awful. Ffs they’re 7! I too would be fuming. I’m sending you huge hugs.

Thanks for all the workwear inspiration. Sadly I can’t do pale trousers, mainly because I feel self conscious. I also can’t do nude tights as I can never get the right colour for me. I considered grey but like someone said, it’s a bit uninspiring.
I’ve just done a large warehouse and oasis order to try different shape trousers. I tried culottes a couple of years ago and they looked awful but I’ve ordered some more to try. Also some peg leg ones. Maybe I can keep to navy but get out of the slim leg rut. We’ll see.

Have a good Saturday night. I’m feeling a little pissed after 2 double gins but at least my hangover has gone Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/05/2018 19:31

shop yay I'm so glad! Shopping for others is my goal right now Grin

The bras I've got are from jojo. They are nursing bras so my plan is to see if I manage to bf successfully before I buy any more £££ ones but then I'll get some nice ones.

Lib love the bag and cardigan! Hope you get on OK with the headteacher, no wonder you're so annoyed. Sounds like the coach has issues!

QueenC I know what you mean about light coloured trousers. Not very summery but what about charcoal? Or dark green?

It's stopped raining here so the BBQ is getting fired up!

YvesKleinBlue · 12/05/2018 19:34

Quickly jumping in to suggest these pants to queenc

I ordered them in navy as I was looking for pair of smart casual trousers and they arrived this week.

They are out of my comfort zone as they are very wide and I am very short but they are surprisingly flattering on my bottom and the high belted waist really suits me.

I will have to wear them with block heels or wedges but I just showed them to DH with a simple white tee tucked in and he loved the outfit.

It’s a linen/cotton mix so I don’t know whether they crumple but the fabric is not thin/flimsy at all.

QueenCornflower · 12/05/2018 21:06

Love those yves but can’t seem to find them on the uk site. There’s some similar though so will see how I get on with the oasis and warehouse ones first before place any further orders.
blair there were some lovely green ones in oasis but decided they’re not me. I did wonder about charcoal but can only find any in jigsaw and don’t want to pay £98 as they won’t get worn too often. If your boobs are big now wait till your milk comes in. I remember with dd 1 being totally shocked on about day 3 waking up with the most massive boobs.
Anyone watching Eurovision?

YvesKleinBlue · 13/05/2018 01:45

That’s a shame queenc, maybe they’ll have more cotton/linen options when the weather gets better.

I also swear by their linen shirts and so does DH. I wear mine with the sleeves rolled up, usually with my fling jeans and ballet flats or slides when it’s not too hot.

QueenCornflower · 13/05/2018 07:58

Lovely links QueenC
Love that tee, and the dress for Blingy is fab. Cool superstars too.
Sore head today. I was supposed to go for a swim at 9am - i’m still in bed Hmm
Had a great night out last night with MrShops martial arts instructor and his wife. She had so many stories to tell. She used to be a bunny girl and then an air hostess - loads of fun. One of those nights that I thought wouldn’t be much fun but was actually brilliant. Love those.

FedupNagging · 13/05/2018 20:12

Hope you're feeling more human now Shop - sounds such a fun evening.

Nice purchases Lib; lovely colour cardi.

Queen, smart casual is the look I do best so wear lots of ankle grazers with a variety of tops and shoes; for chillier weather its the shirt under jumper combo with brogues or stans. For warmer weather, smart tshirt/top/short sleeve jumper with sandals or ballet flats. I also wear wide legged trousers with more fitted tops.

I tried on a pair of birkenstocks today (silver) and dh just laughed and said they looked like clown shoes Hmm so ordered the Dune sandals in tan that Everyone has. No comparison I know but still!

Can't remember who linked the White company stripe top but I love it, unfortunately it's oos in my size.
