Not yet marsha but it’s not till next month. I had an informal visit today and feel more confident that I don’t need to be totally dressed up so will go with something I already have.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/06/2018 13:55

Fedup I'm not sure yet when I'll go off, because my work are pretty laid back about it all! But I'd like to start ML as late as possible, so that DH can have as much shared parental leave as he can once I go back in February. I'll probably take 2-3 weeks of annual leave first as well, since I get 6 weeks a year. So thinking mid July.

Marsha that's lovely to hear re DD, and so nice that you'll be getting away together. Hopefully it'll be relaxing if you can solve the pram/seat issue. I have no clue what to suggest but we are also hoping to get away when DS (first time I've written that, I think!!) is about 6 months. And we have bought a Bugaboo!

I ordered these Birkenstocks, as I really need them now and the brighter gold that I wanted were all sold out. Seems most "women's" (feminine) styles/colours come in the narrow fitting, which is too slim for me.

QueenCyan · 05/06/2018 22:09

Kate spade is dead. I love her stuff. The only reason I don’t own any of the bags is because they’re always gold hardware but o have a fabulous peacock scarf

MarshaBradyo · 05/06/2018 22:46

So sad, I was shocked when I read it

Blair love that you have a Bugaboo! Finally started using ours, she really didn’t like it to start with so had to use a sling.

kittyhello · 06/06/2018 06:33

I too was sad when heard the sad news about Kate Spade.

Marsha sounds like you're able to relax again with dd and enjoy your girls aways holiday, once you have the logistics sorted.

FedupNagging · 06/06/2018 16:30

Yes, very sad to read about Kate Spade. I have 3 KS bags & use them lots.

Warmer weather today; ootd is blue flowery wide legged trousers, cream lace top with 3/4 sleeves (all old from M&S) & SE trinna's plus red mk slouchy bag

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/06/2018 18:08

Very sad about kate spade.i have just bought one of purses.i could have spent a fortune but was limited by weight.very sad that shes gone

Well my holiday is over.just finishing packong and then off to the airport.cant believe its over now.feela like weve been hefe months because of how mich weve seen amd done in 2 weeks.long flight home though so i expect to be very very tired for a few days after

maradesbois · 06/06/2018 19:41

Hello,

So terribly sad indeed about Kate Spade. May she rest in peace. I associate the KS brand with my first trip to NY years ago and happy times mooching about the bleecker st store. It was something you could never find in the UK at the time.

Well work is going well so far, nice team, nice office, interesting business. Dress code is what I expected ie whatever you want. I went fairly smart on first day with good intentions but was already in jeans and trainers by the second! It’s a different casual to mum uniform though, more fashionable so will be fun to make a bit of an effort.

Can I ask a favour re mu on 30th, can’t face scrolling back through old thread so am going to list names of those I remember are coming but please give me a shout if I have missed you:

mara, QueenC, Shop, justa, Everyone, One, kitty(?), Marsha(?), Amber(?)

Really sad about Kate Spade. I was in Manhattan when the news came through and there was an audible gasp in the room.

Blair we had a Bugaboo too. I loved it. Ours is almost a decade old, looks as good as new, works as good as new and has had about 5 different kids use it (mine were the first 2, the rest are nieces and nephews!).

I am almost done for the day and will shortly be heading out to go and meet Yves!!! Very excited to be seeing her and the mini Yves too.

Stokey · 06/06/2018 21:34

Mara put me on your maybe list, probably won't now until the day before though!

Marsha I took Dd1 on a 5 week tour to Oz & Malaysia when she was 6 months old & Barcelona at 4 months! Agree with getting a cheap, light, buggy - I bought a Costello for £60, and it was amazing, lasted both the dc and my neighbour has it now 8 years later. But actually I found a sling really handy, particularly the bit from plane to conveyor belt where you pick the buggy up, good to free up your hands.

Also I never bothered with car seats in short cab trips. Think the law says cabs don;t have to have them? Or you can pre-order them if you're booking airport cab. Glad to hear all is well with Dd xx

YvesKleinBlue · 07/06/2018 01:09

Just got home after my MU with blingy!

As usual she was true to her name and brought the bling in spades and was wearing a gorgeous fushia dress (forgot to ask the brand but looked a lot like Roland Mouret) and fabulous Valentino shoes.

We agreed that next time she’s in town we will have a proper MU, sans enfants and avec booze. Wink

YvesKleinBlue · 07/06/2018 01:10

Oh I will post a picture on our neglected Pinterest page!

shopafrolic · 07/06/2018 08:13

Yves what an elegant MU - you all looked fabulous :)
I'm confused about MUs - who is going to what?
My Hush and Me&em dresses arrived today so I will have a try on and report back.

libertyonhertravels · 07/06/2018 11:31

Great international MU!! I'm really looking forward to the June MU updates as they happen.

I was really shocked and sad to hear about Kate Spade too - her poor daughter Sad.

All my thoughts (and spending!!) are house focused atm! We've arranged to have central heating put in (boring but essential) and much more exciting have found a company to get us started on the renovations - first stage underway - concept drawings and brief!! Very exciting.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 07/06/2018 19:56

i am home! got home this afternoon and just collapsed on the bed!! ten hour flight home and neither of us slept a wink! just going to have something to eat and my medicine and then get back in bed! International meetup looks fab!

MarshaBradyo · 08/06/2018 07:57

Welcome back One your big holiday sounds excellent

Oh my gosh I love that pic! How wonderful Yves and Blingy

MarshaBradyo · 08/06/2018 08:00

Brilliant thanks Stokey great advice

Lib how exciting can’t wait to see what they suggest, some great antipodean designers / architects these days

And I feel your pain we’re redoing all the curtains so expensive!

QueenCyan · 08/06/2018 09:40

lib v exciting for you
one your holiday looked awesome
Loved the international meetup!

Has anyone bought the M&S beauty box? I was doing an order for dc so decided to add it on mainly for the nail polish. There’s some nice bits although don’t like the perfume, the mascara was lovely but I seem to be allergic to it (unless I’ve developed hay fever) and the throat/décolletage cream is lovely but flakes off! The grapefruit lip balm tastes divine though and my dm is happy with the sleep cream and dd has taken a few bits.

Longislandicetee · 08/06/2018 10:07

Hello! My first full day in the UK for 2 weeks!

It was marvellous seeing Yves again! And for those of you who are friends with her on Facebook, the pictures don’t do justice to the cuteness of the miniYves’. Beautiful beautiful kids and so well mannered. And so so chic! I can only aspire to my dcs to be so chicGrin

Was lovely to see Yves and just catch up on all the questions I have been dying to ask her for the last 2 years. And she looked lovely matching the chicness of her dcs. She’s also reignited my desire to get a van cleef bracelet I have wanted for ages!!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/06/2018 10:35

i didn't have chance to say before as internet access was patchy at times, I'm so glad everything went well with DD marsha you must be so relieved! I hope you enjoy your time away with her however you decide to do it!

Laundry is all out on the line now drying, DP is bringing it all when it's dry as it's taken me 3 loads to get it all done and I won't be able to bring it all in by myself!!!

Happy to report that I didn't put any weight on while away, I came back a few pounds lighter in fact, not much just around 5 pounds but it's something!

Now to find space for all the things I bought while away!!!! Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/06/2018 12:13

That's a nice silver lining to being back home One, I usually find I don't put on weight on those "busy" type of holidays either, because you're just always on the go. So glad you had a great time :)

Blingy and Yves wow, you both looked great and so chic, as did the DCs.

I hope I didn't muddy the waters too much with mentioning a mini MU, I didn't realise so many people couldn't make the 30th either (or that I am not actually as free as I thought, agh!)

Birkenstocks arriving today, so it's time to get DH to redo my pedicure.

I had a scan yesterday for my low lying placenta and it's now in a normal place, so no ELCS for me Grin (unless something else crops up of course). I didn't realise how relieved I'd be. Our birth centre is really nice and new, so I had been hoping that I would be able to go there, plus it's attached to the hospital so just ideal. Fingers crossed :)

libertyonhertravels · 08/06/2018 13:55

That's great news Blair - but try not to stress about it. DD was breach and I was all ready for a planned section, then she turned and they cancelled it, then she turned again and placenta failed and I ended up as emergency section but even though I started out my pregnancy hoping for completely natural water birth and then ended up with emergency CS none of it mattered once I had her and she was all ok Smile.

Marsha curtains are a shocker!! I want to change all of the curtains and it's so expensive. I think I'll need to make them myself. And carpet . I'm not crazy about the colour of the carpet we have but what is here is good quality and a neutral colour and after checking out the cost of replacement I've realised I'll have to live with them as I cannot justify the cost of replacing them for now on top of all the other costs.

Despite my saying I need to resist clothes shopping I've just done an online Zara order and I'm itching for something new Grin. Ordered a jacket and 2 dresses - will link with updates when I get them.

One I'm impressed with your washing speed - often takes me weeks to get holiday washing out of the way.

Bedtime for me - has been such a full on week - TGIF! Mara hope your first week has been good.

shopafrolic · 08/06/2018 15:47

Lib I can't wait to see this project progress - how exciting
One welcome back - your pics have been so good. What an experience.
Blair good news on the scan - you must be very relieved.
The Me&em maxi dress has arrived and is a definite keeper. It is fabulous. Gorgeous fabric, great colour and very flattering.
The Hush one has also arrived, not as good quality but lovely colour and will be gorgeous for hot days. It is a bit big (I ordered the 12) and I was going to order the 10 and then see which size is best but it seems to be sold out everywhere now.......

Longislandicetee · 08/06/2018 23:02

Welcome home One, sounds like you have had a terrific time!

Blair, dh will be an expert at pedicures by the time miniBlair arrives!

Shop and Mara, I have just bought the castaner espadrilles too. Baa baa!Blush

I have 2 new lusts...one is the the Prada double tote which i saw in Heathrow airport this week in baby blue. Can't see it on the website now and regretting not getting it then.

The other is the Van Cleef Alhambra bracelet. Weirdly, I just told dh that i saw it on Yves this week (though she has this in white gold) and really like it and he said get it. Am always suspicious when dh tells me to get something without putting up a fight. I half heartedly mentioned being broody and so I think it's a distraction technique! hmm might milk this

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/06/2018 09:13

thanks all, i really did have an amazing time! I'm exhausted though, crossing all those time zones over two weeks has left me/us with horrible jet lag and it's proving very hard to get the right amount of sleep to set us right again!

Have finally properly unpacked and realised just how much stuff i came home with haha. My new coach bag is fab as is my kate spade purse and I absolutely love all the hot topic stuff i came back with, very pleased with all of it as it's stuff i just can't get here at home easily. could have bought more if we had the space/weight allowance so i feel like iw as quite restrained all things considered Grin
