Thanks Marsha, yes is easier when via recruitment consultant. Don’t think I will send anything and rely on the impression I have already made. It would annoy me to get unnecessary mail if i were the interviewer I think plus maybe it looks needy. Plus the interview itself is the time to sell yourself. Am overthinking as love the sound of this company and really want it!

I really like the long strap le pliage thanks Mara :) the cath kidston one is surprisingly non-CKish but I don't think I want fabric. Also if I get a dedicated changing bag it needs to be one that DH wouldn't mind using, as we are sharing parental leave.

We have ordered our pram but hasn't arrived yet. Still got to buy a new car as well Hmm but at least we now both have our cars back, with the necessary work done. So mine is going up for sale imminently!

Well done on the second interview going well! I understand the dilemma re follow up thank you email. I think if in doubt, do nothing. I can't imagine that at this stage it would make a difference, and I think while some people might like it, others might find it annoying and overkill, and you just don't know.

Fedup I like both the items, I think the dress will get a lot of wear at home and on holiday, and the jumper will be really versatile.

MarshaBradyo · 23/05/2018 13:08

Agree Mara I often think that people have comms overkill and people appreciate the silence. And all the reasons you say

MarshaBradyo · 23/05/2018 13:36

Fedup both look great

Dreamqueen · 23/05/2018 14:52

Mara I plan on using the steamer on clothes that have gotten a bit wrinkled in the wardrobe & save having to get the iron out. Fingers crossed for the job.

Blair I have that Le Pliage Neo bag in black & love it. I got it in Duty Free at Gatwick, think it was around £90 there.

FedupNagging · 23/05/2018 16:29

Excellent news Mara. I had no idea that a thank you was required after an interview until recently (think I read it on mn) Dh has just started a new job in the city & pretty sure he didn't send any thank you notes.

Dream I also have the blue hush dress - it's a brilliant holiday dress. The black looks better though as its a smaller size.

Whoever mentioned avoiding looking swamped (on app so can't scroll back) is right especially as I'm not very tall.

shopafrolic · 23/05/2018 17:39

A few of you might want this for your walls :)

Everyonelovessparkles · 23/05/2018 18:12

Ant believe people can be so rude fedup. If you are comfortable with your style then stick with it!

I’ve never heard of sending a thank you note after an interview either. I think you did the right thing not to send one mara. Fingers crossed for you!

Glad you have your cars back blair. Hope the work wasn’t too costly in the end.

Hope you have a great holiday one - you must be off any day now?

DryWhiteagainW · 23/05/2018 23:02

Overkill Mara...I agree with you.

Rather pleased that Does My BUM agrees with me re Royal wedding dress best (Sophia Wellesley, Karen Spencer).......but I wish Kat would stop with the maxi dresses.

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2018 12:29

What does she say about them Dry? (I could google it’s true ;)

What psychological game does iPhone weather play?? The sunniest weather is always 4 days away - until it’s close

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/05/2018 15:47

That is so true Marsha! And now my phone says storms all weekend Hmm

Have made some purchases... (I always do this lately, nothing for ages then splurge)
Whistles trainers (Excellent service, had to order from store, someone called me yesterday to place order within half an hour and they have arrived today!)
Great Plains wrap blouse (I am not going to go crazy buying post-pregnancy clothes, but I want some things that I can hopefully BF in and I know wrap tops suit me)
Tommy H cardigan thought it would be good now and after and maybe as a cover up for feeding.

Also looking at bags still. DH doesn't like the Le Pliage Neo as it looks "like a handbag". Hmm Our current front runner is the Tiba + Marl backpack which I have no doubt is entirely due to the choice of model!

My heartburn has ramped up so what I really ought to be stocking up on is Gaviscon :(

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2018 22:31

Sorry Marsha I went to sleep after posting Shock how rude!

A couple of my fav outfits were on her top list too that’s all.

DryWhiteagainW · 24/05/2018 22:33

And I find BBC weather app gives a much more hopeful outlook (and more accurate) .....DH always uses the apple one and it’s often different to BBC which is always right (and forecasting a heat wave next week and I’ve heard in August too Smile )

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2018 22:46

Oh yes BBC is much more realistic

I look at that when I don’t want to get my hopes up!

MarshaBradyo · 24/05/2018 22:47

Oh brill to heatwave

libertyonhertravels · 25/05/2018 21:24

Great article on The Pool on Repeal the Eight

No news, I'm on tenderhooks for the next few hours...

shopafrolic · 26/05/2018 08:27

Waking up to the best news ever Lib - are you celebrating?

libertyonhertravels · 26/05/2018 08:50

I am so relieved Shop - a sense of immense satisfaction. I'd love to be at home today to go for a drink with friends there who have been campaigning and to give a massive hug to the many women I know who traveled to England for abortions and have never been able to tell their families. It's a hugely cathartic and healing moment for those women. It's more than just the repeal of that awful amendment, it's a sense of Irish women finally being treated as equal citizens in their own country. I love that the result is so emphatic, that the vast majority of people, women and men have done this. And the turnout of young voters, 87% of whom voted for repeal is fantastic - makes me hopeful for our future.

Yes I have had some Wine Grin I'm glued to SM and the Irish news sites and feeling very teary.

MarshaBradyo · 26/05/2018 08:53

I bet you are Lib

So emotional

I’m really pleased for you, and everyone and feel it’s a big shift in the world - which makes me feel a bit teary

libertyonhertravels · 26/05/2018 09:02

This is the poem doing a loop around my head today - feels right, like something has melted in the May sunshine...

Sometimes - Sheenagh Pugh

Sometimes things don't go, after all,
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost; green thrives; the crops don't fail,
sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.

A people sometimes will step back from war;
elect an honest man, decide they care
enough, that they can't leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.

Sometimes our best efforts do not go
amiss, sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen: may it happen for you.

MarshaBradyo · 26/05/2018 09:06

I love that

MarshaBradyo · 26/05/2018 09:12

The whole thing just made me think why do some things in the world get worse when they could get better

The poem says it beautifully

maradesbois · 26/05/2018 17:20

Lovely words lib and so glad to see Irish women’s reproductive rights finally acknowledged.

I have some good news - I got the job Smile! So happy.

Blair at the risk of becoming over-invested in your future changing bag Grin I think that a backpack one would just be a pita. Most of the time it will just be hanging over the pram so backpack shape would be awkward. Guess it would be useful if you were out with baby in a sling though. I hate rucksacks apart from for sports or day out with dc, got whacked in the face with one by a pensioner at Chelsea flower show this week!

Got myself something a bit outside comfort zone at tk maxx this week, this jumpsuit. It is silk and not shiny irl like it looks in the pics. Love the print but am still debating whether to keep as it wasn’t that cheap and not sure how much wear it will get. As it is silk was thinking wearing it more for evenings with red suede aquazzura strappy mid height heels than for daytime with sandals. Opinions welcome.

Afternoon all! I am messaging from the poolside on first day of our half term break. Lovely warm weather, though i was convinced that the weather wasn't going to be anything special. I have had a right time of it lately at work so oh my goodness, it's great to get away from it all and I will finally get the chance to catch up. Just read back over the last few days...

Lib, terrific news coming out of Ireland. I have to say I was convinced that with all the publicity being on the yes/repeal voters that it might be scuppered because there was a silent majority who might actually topple the whole thing. Very happy for you and your kin as they say!

Viva, hope you managed to get away for half term, and that everything okay.

Blair, ugh Gaviscon, that brings back memories! Don't go too hard on the post baby shopping already. I thoroughly enjoyed wondering round the ships with my babies in the pram and so you don't want to spend all the money now!Wink

Mara, fingers crossed on the outcome of the interview! I agree with Blair, a thank you note from a candidate would just be one more thing that would clog up my inbox so depending on what mood i was in, I would either think that was nice but unnecessary or be irritated! I.e. there is a neutral outcome or a downside!

Dream, glad you got a clothes steamer, honestly mine just makes it so much easier!

Fedupnagging, I have no words on your recent "compliment"Shock. I mean really have no words. I feel very cross on your behalf, that's for sure!

Longislandicetee · 26/05/2018 17:25

Oh wow Mara! Fantastic Cross post! Well done you!!!!! Massive congrats! ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks
