DryWhiteagainW · 20/05/2018 21:57

Oh fab bags QueenC

Blair I’ve sent you a pm with a brill bag, and reduced too

DryWhiteagainW · 20/05/2018 22:00

Blair I know you don’t want a “baby bag” but Pacpod do fab styles like this one

DryWhiteagainW · 20/05/2018 22:02

And looks a lot like Le P

libertyonhertravels · 21/05/2018 09:58

Thanks so much for all the interiors advise!!

Everyone I have been pinning like crazy, probably need to properly look at what I’ve pinned and draw out themes.

Dry agree we will do bathrooms first and then the kitchen. We could probably decorate upstairs before the kitchen work happens – must check out with builders if the downstairs work would impact much on upstairs… I’d love to have you over to help Smile.

Marsha I will definitely run colours past you. Agree we need to get in and see how the light is in the house to help decide that. Problem is that DH and I have different ideas about colours. He leans towards cooler shades and likes grey tones. I prefer warmer shades, not opposed to grey but I don’t like the monochrome look that seems very popular atm. I love the sofa you linked. There is a shop I like here – McKensie and Wills but it’s quite $$$ (typical) and their website is rubbish. But so many things I like there. I’ll get some photos of the stuff and link here next weekend. Love that sofa and that room picture.

Blingy you hit the nail on the head about the fear of making an expensive mistake. The electrics are happening first! We’re having a full rewire done this week, adding in lots of extra sockets and adding enough circuit boards to allow for lots of outdoor lighting and putting in fibre etc.

Viva so sorry to hear things are tough at home – sending you hugs. I mostly wore dresses in Auckland – easy in the heat and easy to smarten up or dress down.

How was the wedding dress shopping Blair? I’ll confess that I used the totally non stylish but very practical free bag Boots give out as my change bag Blush. It fitted neatly on the buggy and held everything. The Day Birger tote is nice but it wouldn’t work over the handlebars of a buggy and you need to be able to get at stuff easily. Not good scrabbling around the tote with one arm while the baby cries in the other.

Morning all. What a fab sunny weekend.
We had the ILs with us and my DB and DPs joined us on the Saturday eve for a post wedding BBQ. I even managed some time on a sun lounger yesterday - we're loving how well the new garden worked out.
Viva lovely to see you. Sorry things are tough right now. With regards to your break I'd go chinos if you want lighter weight trousers, or a jumpsuit (Whistles and Uniqlo had some good ones). Or a midi dress perhaps?
Kitty thanks for the Vix suggestion, I'll take a look. Love your boots - on my lust list. I couldn't see the Hush link.
Lib the interiors chat is brill. What an exciting project. I would suggest reading this book which I have found really helpful. Sounds as though there will be lots of great advice for you here too :)
Blair enjoy the wedding shopping today. I didn't want to get a change bag originally but caved as miniShop was a messy, poo infested child Grin and waterproof linings were a must. this was really useful......
I got sent the Whistles 20% off preview so bought this red Lea shirt which is the perfect tone. I have this in white already and it is a really useful item.
I'm giving the Whistles black top one last try but if it doesn't wash well this time then I'll have to look elsewhere so if anyone sees anything similar then please shout like this

shopafrolic · 21/05/2018 10:11

Lib that book talks about how to start from scratch, how to streamline your Pins etc.

MarshaBradyo · 21/05/2018 10:16

Lib I’m with you I think it would be a shame to do monochrome in a huge NZ period house. Not dark but something a bit lighter and happier. I don’t want to lead you too much as you need to love it but I would love to chat colours with you. Also wallpaper! Could be beautiful in a couple of rooms
(Did I mention I paid for the privilege with F&B? Wasn’t that great actually lots of well what do you think gnah)

Blair how many weeks are you and how are you feeling? Are you sleeping ok? Bags - do you like the Petit Pan brand, I adore my PP changing bag as it’s soft and light and pretty but it’s not what people usually go for

MarshaBradyo · 21/05/2018 10:17

Love that Shop

libertyonhertravels · 21/05/2018 10:54

Yes light and happy sounds good Marsha. The lounge room could definitely take some wallpaper. I need to get an afternoon without DD and DH in tow to wander the interiors shops in peace and collect samples.

Great shirt Shop. I'll look up that book - thanks Smile

MarshaBradyo · 21/05/2018 11:00

Yes do collect loads. You could even take pics in of your house to show. I know F&B will have useful conversations if you do. Maybe there could be a darker colour in one room, maybe pick up on the beautiful antipodean foliage (carried away). I find it useful to chat stuff through, but lead with your style refined by your reactions to what people say. Sounds fabulous

shopafrolic · 21/05/2018 12:58

Is anyone watching The Split? The workwear of the lead character is perfection. Fab bags and shoes too.

QueenCornflower · 21/05/2018 13:27

lib I haven’t joined in with the interiors chat as I’m hopeless at stuff like that and I’d be as overwhelmed as you!!
Nice shirt shop. I’m watching the split and really loving it-easy viewing although I found last weeks end a bit uncomfortable but utterly superb acting. Clothes are so not me but she looks fabulous.

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/05/2018 14:44

I have that radley tote that queenc linked in navy (but its quite a light navy) and berry. I really like them and rate it more than the le pilage in terms of quality (though it doesn’t fold up). I used this loads as a baby bag with DS (and still use it for carrying all the DC crap around). The advantage of proper baby bags vs normal bags, is that baby bags often have special clips to clip them to the pushchair but then I’ve seen lots of people use those karabiner clips clipped to the handal of the pushchair which is then loaded up with bags. blair have you looked at fossil for a cross body bag? It might not be as high end as you were thinking but they usually have a good range and are good value for money.

I got a 20% m&s discount in the post today valid from 24-28 May. If any one wants a code and doesn’t get a voucher, let me know and I’ll PM you a code.

There’s also 25% off Boden items all week. Today is dresses, accessories and shoes. Not sure if swimwear is classed as accessories but might be worth keeping an eye out shop in case you fancy the black bikini from there. I think I saw a similar shaped top to the black whistles one in French connection, but not sure if it was fabric rather than jersey.

shopafrolic · 21/05/2018 15:30

QueenC it was wonderfully acted by her but incredibly tough for anyone to watch Flowers

MarshaBradyo · 21/05/2018 15:49

I couldn’t get on with The Split but maybe I need to give it another try

Dh doesn’t like The Handmaid’s Tale so I’ll have to find a time to see it without him. We’re watching The Bridge

shopafrolic · 21/05/2018 15:51

Oh God Marsha I watched Season 2 Ep 1 last night - DH won't watch it so I stayed up as didn't want to see spoilers anywhere. SO good but still so hard to watch.
I need to watch the Bridge (all seasons) but not sure how I'll find it having already watched the Tunnel.

MarshaBradyo · 21/05/2018 15:53

Funny how they don’t like it! Really want to see it

Also highly recommend the professional version of Bake Off Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/05/2018 16:01

We’re watching the bridge too. I think the tunnel might have a slightly different story so not sure if it will spoil watching the bridge. I haven’t watched the handsmaid tail. I studied it for A level (many years ago Grin) and wasn’t keen on it then, but I think it’s something that you appreciate more with age.

MarshaBradyo · 21/05/2018 16:48

I haven’t seen The Tunnel so not sure

Official pics wedding some nice ones in there
