SotD was not, for the first Sunday in a while, synched with you all! Went for Eat Flowers. Possibly the best longevity of all the 4160s I've got.

Have officially done Easter; egg hunt, homemade simnel cake, hot cross buns (a bit late I know) and lemon curd, but feeling a bit sick now from too much sugar Smile. Have stuck with the OML Indigo so far - do really like this. Now looking for something cosy to go to bed in before the snow comes.

Haven't had chance to catch up the last few days yet, just wanted to pop on to say a huge thanks to Floofy for the parcel which arrived Friday 😍

I'm really enjoying MG Lemon, it starts off sweet & zingy, and I can agree with comments about the "old lady" note, it's similar to talcum powder or soap? but this is its strong point and stops it being just a run of the mill citrus.

I finally get a day off work tomorrow so will be mostly catching up on the thread, then popping into TK Maxx for a browse. A girl I used to work with has a friends & family discount code for me. Let's hope it's not all Michael Kors & Beyoncé.

Pleased to have finally found a description on Parfumo of the notes in LA (1980) a Max Factor from the vintage haul recently passed on to me. (As I think Green? may have commented, (LA, like) Y, was named before the invention of the search engine).

Although this is powerful to the point of being almost charmless to start with, an hour or two in and it's a lovely oriental that brings Chinatown to mind. Notes are: Rose, Carnation, Hyacinth, Jasmine, Champagne, Oriental woods, Oriental spices. (These latter two don't help much!).

Yesterdays ended up being oil based paint. God that stuff stank! Today's will be emulsion paint, so at least it won't be as bad.

Quite a bit, but sleet is coming down on top of it now, so don't expect it to last too much longer.

Good excuse to reach into the vintage box for some oriental warmth. So, on my left, Houbigant's Chantilly. Prefer this to Shalimar - more complex and smoky. Lemon, then gently spicy, warm and powdery florals, on a musk, vanilla and sandalwood base, roughed-up a bit by vetiver, and then patchouli. This is brilliant. Cheap as chips on ebay.

On my right is Lancome's Magie. 1950s powdery amber, with violet and just a hint of dirty jasmine. Gently seductive in a relatively young and straightforward way.

Happy easter! SOTD is Dirty Honey - it smells mostly of hay on me but I quite like it. It's cheerful. DH just told me he has to pay less tax than he expected, hurrah! So I scuttled over to ParfumMaria and bought a bottle of Juniper Sling while its on offer. Exciting 😀
