Sandals - cool but also comfortable

I need sandals for this year - they need to be granny levels of comfortable and although they will mostly be worn in the back of beyond where fashion fears to tread, I will also be in London and want to be suitably on point.

For context, my style is ripped boyfriend jeans, Whistles stuff, Stan smiths, platinum shaggy bob (currently pale pink actually!). In the summer abroad it's denim short shorts, short plain smock dresses, maxi skirt/crop top.

Birkenstocks? Saltwater? Were saltwater only cool 2 years ago or are they timeless? I have pretty glittery Zara sandals for "good" wear - I need everyday cool. Budget about £60.

Please help!

Although I live in the deep north I wear sandals throughout the summer and generally buy a couple of pairs each year . Last year ( or was it the year before) my favourite comfie pair were real cheapies from m and s. I walked miles in them on holiday. They haven't got them this year yet but I'm sure they will. £15 and £12 if you get a discount. I threw out my silver ones in them but have just bought a pair of blue ones on eBay to match a dress. I also had a pair from Aldo in tan which I love and this year my first purchase has been these from Next which are leather www.next.co.uk/g22322s3#663677
I tried on a pair of Palmerias but they hit my toes in the wrong place. My feet are not young and I fear some of the others mentioned here would make them look even older although I am sure they could be comfortable . I still like things to look nice (walking a secondary consideration ) but that's just me😏

So I got the green Oak & Hyde sandals & I'm really happy. They're lighter than Birkenstocks, and we'll see if they're as comfy over the Easter holidays!

Thank you again for all the suggestions - I'm surprised at how nice fit flop has become since their horrific sandals of yore and I'll check them out in a shop soon.

I've had some major tumbleweed threads on this board, so I really appreciate all the recommendations here!

Oooh they look nice op, do they rub your feet?

Don't suit Birkenstocks but I love Algeria sandals. Particularly good for wide feet.
Their Caiti boots were brilliant for Autumn/winter.

For those who don't get Saltwaters, they're probably not using them as intended. I live near the coast and spend leisure time in and out of kayaks and often swim in the sea and estuaries. You can wear your salties in the car, tramping down to the beach, and then over the horrid pebbles, and swim in them, if you put your feet down on a rock, your salties will protect your feet. Out you get and do the same in reverse. They are wonderful for outdoorsy people who don't want to wear geek sandals
