Can we have a “nice stuff at M&S” thread”?

It’s 20% off code this weekend so I’m off to get shoes and socks for DS, a couple of bras for me (they fit me well as long as I fend off any helpful attempts by their fitters to resize me into a 34AA) and some camisoles/vests to layer under stuff.

And possibly some crazy suede stilettos for work as well (they never leave the carpet and only have to walk for twenty yards at a time so I can go mad with height)
www.marksandspencer.com/leather-stiletto-heel-strap-court-shoes/p/p60143557?carousel=FUNH_RR_REFER. And I need a few basic jumpers as well.

On the grounds that M&S are a nice enough British owned company who pay their taxes and AFAIK have decent working conditions, and the high street is having a tough time at the moment, is anyone up to the challenge of suggesting other hidden gems that would be a good buy with the discount code?

I've got some codes if anyone wants to PM me for them.

Piccolino2 · 04/03/2018 15:37

Loving this thread. I bought one of these jackets in cream a few weeks ago. It’s lovely, great quality and I’m going to buy a blue one (already have a similar one in Navy or else would get that too)

Also this cute little jacket although I’m a bit worried it may end up being a polyester nightmare as I always steer clear of that. In this case I thought it may be worth a go, can always take it back www.marksandspencer.com/sparkly-single-breasted-blazer/p/p60158386

And these cute kitten heels in grey which is an unusual colour to find: www.marksandspencer.com/kitten-heel-pointed-toe-court-shoes/p/p60143660

Hope it does all end up going back!

Thank you @Didiusfalco
I spent way more than I planned but had £80 in m&S vouchers from topcashback and hopefully it will work as a postbabybump capsule wardrobe.
Piccolino2 I ordered 2 of those quilted bombers glad to hear they're nice.

blueskypink · 07/03/2018 11:53

In case anyone hasn't picked it up, because of the bad weather, the 20% off offer has been extended to 8 March (tomorrow)

TossDaily · 07/03/2018 13:42

Haven't read the thread, but I got four full-size Korres shower gels for £16 yesterday.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 07/03/2018 13:44

This skirt is my contribution - very flattering, thick cotton with a bit of stretch. True to size.

SmiledWithTheRisingSum · 07/03/2018 16:20

Nice Bernice!

kinorsam · 07/03/2018 17:01

Another vote for their jeans; and I'm partial to their neroli, lime and basil reed diffuser.

43andcounting · 07/03/2018 21:35

Does anyone have a spare code please?
Hoping to slip in an order before the deadline tonight.
Thanks!

LauraRashley · 07/03/2018 22:57

Their jeans are still good - a wide range in mainly cotton including the otherwise elusive high waist, muffin top disguising variety. The length sizing is important to me too. People do moan about the sizing inconsistencies but you can usually get what you need.

Used to buy loads from them, the jeans are all that remain. I look at some of their stuff and imagine some Fresh-Out-Of Uni-Know-It-All-With-Ipad-Buyer who doesn’t have a bloody clue.

Many of their reviews make the same point - us old birds (and probably not so old too) would happily pay more for good quality, well made, frill-free, natural fibres in plain colours.

I live in fear of their jeans buyers being replaced.

So so true Laura. Many's the time I've looked at something online and thought it looks nice. Then when I track it down in store it's some horrible synthetic cheap looking material. I'm old enough to remember when M&S's USP was simple but good quality.

And they never ever get colours right. Whatever colours are in fashion you can bet your bottom dollar they will get the wrong shade. Confused

Ah here Shock
As seen on another thread

BillStickersIsInnocent · 11/03/2018 08:17

Also this www.marksandspencer.com/silk-rich-v-neck-long-sleeve-jumper/p/p60154551?image=SD_01_T38_5132T_CH_X_EC_90&color=CHAMPAGNE&prevPage=plp

Silk cotton mix is lovely to wear. Sadly both are sold out.

Butterymuffin · 11/03/2018 09:02

Placemarking as I need some new shoes and dresses for work.

RaininSummer · 11/03/2018 09:34

I was disappointed and will be taking all my order back. The sizes are well off, even the shoes were too way large.

RingtheBells · 11/03/2018 11:12

Sparks 50% off sale is on now if you have 5000 Sparks points, so main sale will probably be Tuesday

OutsideContextProblem · 11/03/2018 11:43

I’ve trawled through the sale. Mostly either horrific or only available in outlier sizes but there’s the odd nice thing, and if you’re looking for sportswear, low heeled ankle boots or dressing gowns you’re in luck.

I did see this which I thought was properly nice if you were the appropriate shape and had the appropriate underwear.
this
If it wasn’t for the colour I’d totally give it a try at 17 quid fifty.

Actually looking at my purchases the only clothes I bought were some boots which look quite nice and springlike. www.marksandspencer.com/block-heel-size-zip-embroidered-ankle-boots/p/p60143812?image=SD_01_T02_4262D_NP_X_EC_90&color=TAUPE&prevPage=srp in 2 sizes and the rest was home stuff Smile
The cashmere jumper linked upthread was there but sold out
