What do you wear around the house?

As soon as I'm in the house I immediately change into my "comfy" clothes. This usually being an old, loose t shirt, leggings and trainer socks (with fake uggs when walking around). Also the hair goes up and the bra comes off. If I get chilly, I wear my grey boyfriend cardigan.

Basically, presentable enough to answer the door/go outside with the dog, but I wouldn't want to go outside and meet people like this. I'm curious what others wear to relax in around the house :)

I wear the same as I've been wearing all day because it's quite comfy enough. The only exception would be if I'd been wearing formal workwear (suit or jacket etc) or jeans (work of the devil!).

bigfatbuddha · 27/02/2018 18:56

I always wear leggings and a nice looking but comfy dress, sometimes I add a cardigan. I like retro dresses and fabric with some stretch in it. Coupled with a lipstick I look nice enough with minimal effort.

In the summer I wear very short thin legging type shorts against chafing.

That's my whole wardrobe. Leggings, thin atretchy shorts, dresses, cardigans. Done.

TheJoyOfSox · 27/02/2018 18:58

I’m dressed the same right now AlyTab. T-shirt, no bra, very old jog pants and ugg style slippers. If I get too cold I put on my tatty cardi-gown.

FourEyesGood · 27/02/2018 18:58

Jeans and sweatshirt. I can’t bring myself to even imagine my bum in leggings.

WilburIsSomePig · 27/02/2018 19:03

Bra come off, comfy trousers go on, tee shirt and a jumper if it's cold. And slippers. God I love my slippers.

Girlsworld92 · 27/02/2018 19:08

Pyjamas. All about the pjs in this house as much as possible. Even my hubby has embraced it

CountFosco · 27/02/2018 19:29

I wear the same as I've been wearing at work minus the shoes Confused. I refuse to talk to anyone in the morning until I'm dressed, can't imagine choosing to go braless in the evening after work, that would drive me to Gin. Leggings are for exercise only in this house.

Sevendown · 27/02/2018 19:38

Bra off, jammies on.

PersianCatLady · 27/02/2018 19:44

Vest top and shorts or leggings.

I can't wear long sleeves (don't know why but they feel uncomfortable except coat sleeves???) so the same in summer and winter.

youvegottobekidding · 27/02/2018 19:49

Oh, it's straight into my onesie as soon as I'm in the house & I know I don't need to go out again! Such bliss to be warm (in this weather anyway) & cosy with slippers on! We don't get many visitors or people just popping by so I'm safe 😁 My favourite onesie is my Harry Potter one, my other one seemed to shrink in the wash 😂 No really, even the legs got shorter & I hate that, I like to be able to tuck my onesie into my socks!!! The hooded ones are good too, but not brill for sleeping in!

Ikeameatballs · 27/02/2018 19:51

Sometimes I stay in work gear but not if too formal/tight/dry clean only. Then I change to leggings and t-shirt/jumper or if like tonight I'm going in the shower it's a onesie until bedtime.

ShatnersBassoon · 27/02/2018 19:51

Usually jeans and a top, plus poncho. My poncho is essentially a daytime dressing gown that I can answer the door in.

wowfudge · 27/02/2018 19:55

I change out of work clothes when I get home. I'm wearing pyjama bottoms, a tshirt, chunky sweater dress and thick socks. Oh, and slippers.

wowfudge · 27/02/2018 19:56

Daytime dressing gown - that phrase reminded me of those nylon button through housecoats ladies of my gran's generation used to wear over their clothes to do housework!

Pistachiois50pmore · 27/02/2018 19:57

Since I started working from home after maternity leave, I ended up with a lot of clothes that are comfy but not pyjamas. Sunday clothes. Today I'm wearing Uniqlo velvet leggings trousers and a COS navy jumper. Regular fixtures are also various "luxe joggers"/drawstring trousers and Uniqlo mens cashmere sweaters. Lots of navy. Lots of knitwear. Lots of trainers.

Pistachiois50pmore · 27/02/2018 20:01

Your other option is what my friend did when she started working from home, the full Ben Stiller in Royal Tenenbaums Adidas trackie. Deeply respect this as a look.

manicandcrazy · 27/02/2018 20:02

I always put on a pair of joggers, tshirt and hoodie. I can't relax in a pair of jeans!!

LesLavandes · 27/02/2018 20:09

Pjs, socks, cardi

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 27/02/2018 20:16

I live in jeans, teeshirts or smarter tops, cardis etc for work and home, whatever I put on in the morning stays on till bedtime. The only time I change during the day is for exercise.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 27/02/2018 20:20

I work from home, and I wear what I used wear to work in an office - a dress or jeans/trousers with some sort of nice blouse/cardigan/jumper.
I do wear slippers at home. I also wear jewellery, perfume and makeup.

I like to look presentable, and my clothes is comfortable to wear.

MrsElvis · 27/02/2018 20:24

PJs or a dressing gown.. failing that some kind of lounge wear of my husbands. Life is too short to have a waistband digging into me when I'm sat on the sofa

Catinthebath · 27/02/2018 20:24

Bedtime snugs all the way once home from work and my bloke isn’t coming around. But I have to shower first. It’s a ritual to wash the day away. Sometimes I’ll get a second showe before bed. I’dh bloke is coming around it’s jeans and a top, or the bedtime snugs if I feel like

helloBuddy · 27/02/2018 20:38

PJ's when I get in and know I'm not going out again.

Mum2jenny · 27/02/2018 20:41

If warm enough, I wear nothing but when it's cold I wear enough clothing to keep me warm i.e. Fleecy top n bottoms and a pair of fleecy socks

Stormwhale · 27/02/2018 20:41

Dp laughs at me because as soon as I'm in the door I drop my trousers like Murray goldberg (from the goldbergs). I fucking hate trousers. No matter what size I wear I always feel like they hurt my tummy. I change into pj bottoms and all is right with the world again. So whatever top I wore out and pj bottoms.
