What do you wear around the house?

As soon as I'm in the house I immediately change into my "comfy" clothes. This usually being an old, loose t shirt, leggings and trainer socks (with fake uggs when walking around). Also the hair goes up and the bra comes off. If I get chilly, I wear my grey boyfriend cardigan.

Basically, presentable enough to answer the door/go outside with the dog, but I wouldn't want to go outside and meet people like this. I'm curious what others wear to relax in around the house :)

Although strictly speaking I wear yoga pants more than leggings but the arse effect is the same!

StoatofDisarray · 28/02/2018 11:08

Pyjama trousers, socks, a T shirt, no bra, and a long loose dressing gown. Bliss!

Neganforever · 28/02/2018 11:20

I wear leggings around the house and also out. I run a lot so they don't look bad on me I don't think. They are Jack Wills thick cotton ones and I always wear a shirt or jumper to cover my bum, they're just warm and comfortable. Otherwise I'll either be in running tights (to incentivise me to go later) or Uniqlo legging trousers which are much comfier than jeans. I have a thick long cardigan to throw on top. I'm not particular about going out in any of my home clothes.

I agree with all of you. PJ's are great, (no bra) and a dressing gown but DH doesn't do this and when someone comes to the door I feel somewhat embarrassed especially as its only 1800...

How do others cover this?

Tantpoke · 28/02/2018 11:52

right now I'm wearing a black and taupe striped cat onesie with a hood with ears and a white tummy, it even has a tail Grin Can't get more comfy than this.

Bitsy1968 · 28/02/2018 11:57

I work from home but have to see clients, so make sure I'm presentable during the day (nice fitting jeans, a nice top and jumper) if I've got a meeting, or the same jeans, a t shirt and a fleece if I'm alone all day.

Evenings though....oh I so look forward to flinging off the bra and changing the jeans for a comfy pair of joggies or leggings, fluffy socks and flopping onto the sofa. Most of the time I change after we've eaten dinner and cleared up, so it's after 8pm.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 28/02/2018 11:57

I wear pyjamas and slipper boots, very rarely to bed, but every single day in the house.

Ellapaella · 28/02/2018 12:49

Joggers or leggings or harem style lounge pants with a nice comfy tee and woolly jumper or baggy cardigan in the winter. Today I have some lovely cozy heat holder socks on that I picked up in Next yesterday in anticipation of the cold weather. They are the warmest, cosiest things I've ever put on my feet!
Since we got ddog it's a bit later in the evening before I can get changed as I have to wait until after her walk, usually about 8pm. I love getting my day clothes off, washing my make up off and getting in my nice comfy lounge wear, it's the best feeling.

I'm in Australia and in the warmer months, loose linen trousers or shorts and sleeveless top, various slip-on sandals. It's autumn tomorrow, so layers on the linen, e.g. a warmer cardigan.

In winter, merino jogging bottoms, HeatTech and /or merino long-sleeved T-shirts, fleece shirt or woollen cardigan, fake Uggs.

No bra at home all year round.

Klobuchar · 28/02/2018 13:14

Housebra and comfy dress. Can’t wait!

Baggy Tee, leggings & fluffly slippers! Halo the best!!

teta · 28/02/2018 13:31

Definitely no bra if at home. At the moment cashmere joggers, cashmere jumper, Brora thermals ( worn for the first time in years). Yes, I’m another who wears a poncho on top. And I also have a range of dressing gowns for winter/summer. Plus my latest acquisition - my gorgeous soft fluffy flip flop sheepskin slippers ( due to funny sore toes).

Baileystruffle · 28/02/2018 14:16

If its a work day, I wait until the kids go to bed (about 8pm) then change into pjs for the evening. If a non work day or weekend I get dressed in jeans or skirts usually with comfy tops and cardis, and stay in them either until kids go to bed or my bedtime. I am out and about a lot though doing errands and carting the kids places. Can't be bothered with make up though.

battenbergbutterfly · 28/02/2018 14:43

I always wear denim dresses, denim tunics, fitted denim dresses (basically denim!) with a coloured cardigan and tights. Dead comfy. Haven't worn jeans this year as hated them.

AnaViaSalamanca · 28/02/2018 17:20

Strange, I have home clothes that are just for evenings when I change into them after coming home, or before breakfast on weeknds, these are relaxed fit jeans and jumpers and t-shirts not particularly expensive or new but can totally be worn outside. I change into sleeping clothes before going to bed and change out of them right after shower whether I am going out or not. DP is the same.

When DP is away, though, I lounge in my pyjamas all day and eat chocolate in bed, but that happens once in a blue moon, thankfully ;-)
