I am prepared to consider non- hush suggestions ;)

Laska5772 · 09/03/2018 16:43

cherries have you tried Seasalt?

SoyYo · 09/03/2018 16:49

never 😍😍😍 everything looks great on you! Specially love mini and linen top combo

cherries I'm into leather and swede bikers (built quite a collection over the years) but they are a bit ££ I'll link to some sites if you like but best to buy at sale or discount time.
I've also just ordered a petite trench from M&S and kitten heels for kipperfeet with the recent discount. I'm a 32G or 34FF depending on the make so if you're interested I'll let you know when it arrives. It was only 40quid and hoping it'll be useful for spring showers as my old White Company trench lost its belt on a Eurostar train
About to go into my last work TC of the week

ilovecherries · 09/03/2018 18:13

Oh, yes please, Soy. Although I'm afraid my boobs go to the far reaches of the alphabet :(. 32L which in reality is almost impossible to find so I've been buying 34K and having tucks put in the back. Everyone said they would get smaller if I lost weight, but though the back size is down from a 38/40 my boobs have actually stayed more or less the same, as they were a J cup in the bigger sizes. Reconsidering a reduction but I had a bad reaction to an anaesthetic before, so a bit afraid that the risk/benefit analysis doesn't stand scrutiny on cosmetic surgery.

I haven't looked at seasalt Laska but will do. I had imagined that they only did heavy duty raincoats, and it was more something for cooler but not necessarily wet days I wanted.

Willswife · 09/03/2018 19:33

Nearlyadoctor Thank you! The diamond t-shirt is quite lightweight but because of the colour it doesn't look too thin. I returned 2 white ones and the pale pink scattered star one because they were a bit see through but the diamond one is fine.

Talisin Thank you for the advice, I managed to get both of them this morning! I did want the rainbow in two sizes but buy the time I'd checked out one size had sold out again. Will keep an eye open though.

SoyYo Thank you! I think my favourite is the stars jeans or possibly the scattered stars grey t shirt. I did like the tara dress but I'm a sahm and thought it was a bit too dressy for the school run. Some people would probably get away with it, but as I'm always in jeans and a t-shirt I just felt as much as I liked it I probably wouldn't wear it.

Thanks to all for the welcomes, I think I'm going to be hanging around here a fair bit! Everyone looks great in the photos posted and I'm very envious of how good you look in the denim mini neveradullmoment99!

I got another deliver today of Amie joggers but sadly they're not for me. I love the softness of them but I wouldn't go out in them as they're a bit too clingy on my bum and thighs. I'm tempted to try the next size up but think they may just be huge on the waist. Is it normal to be able to see the pocket outline when you wear them or does that sound like they're too tight? Just think if I'm only comfortable wearing them around the house then there's cheaper alternatives!

I also got the eleanor sandals but they're too narrow for my wide(ish) feet so they're going back as well.

I feel as though I've saved so much money by not liking everything!

Ellapaella · 09/03/2018 20:29

Just catching up with all your lovely buys.
Love those Stevie jeans on you Laska.
Never I really love the baby blue raglan, all your tops look great with that denim skirt. I have the embroidered heart sweater too and have been pretty much living in it the last couple of weeks. I love it with my star jeans, warm enough for the cold weather but will be light enough for warmer days/evenings too.
Keep up the photos ladies, I officially can't afford anymore purchases at the moment but am hankering after the denim jacket so if anyone gets it please review.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/03/2018 20:46

Thanks for the nice comments. I like seeing things in RL on others. Ive worn the denim skirt quite a bit and also have the longer version from last year. Its a lovely skirt if anyone is considering the pencil one. Great length and a lovely colour. I absolutely love the baby blue raglan. I have had the raglan top before but sold them on ebay because the fit seemed to get baggy especially around the neck. So glad I sized down to the xs as the fit is exactly the way I want it. Would order other colours [not just now - I am with you ella] but the only one that I haven't got atm is the bubblegum and not sure the colour really suits me. I was watching the hush video on the blog part of the website and I am sure the model wears a baby pink one. I will definitely order that if it is in the summer collection. I love that colour. Loving the pastels atm. Pale lemon, pale blue - gorgeous.
Love the green embroidered sweat. I was gutted as I managed to splash some oil on the collar but used my mums old trick of putting talc on it right away and then putting it straight in the wash and its gone thank goodness. All these pale colours are not great for everyday life!!!!!

Love all the photos!

Laksa yes! I remember now you mentioned about the stain...I will be very careful, thanks!

never - looking good! Now I want the blue raglan sleeve top and the mini skirt :) I tried the top a couple of years ago and found them quite short...will reconsider due to the mountain of white vest tops I now own. And light blue is one of my most favourite shades. Do you get much wear out of the black denim?

I got some compliments on my Love washed sweat top today...wore it a la MM mode with black ruched skirt, hush tights and biker boots. Now that I am home I have switched the skirt out for...black harems :) I had to be extra careful in work as the teacher I work with decided today would be a good day for painting (a class of 33 7 year olds...not a recipe for disaster at all)

I am late in replying to whoever asked about the denim jacket sizing but I got a 14 last year when I was a definite 14...would consider treating myself to a 12 if I lose a bit more weight.

TheFormidableMrsC · 09/03/2018 23:13

Wills, I've got the Amie's in all colours in a medium, but I recently replaced my black pair for an L. They are looser on the leg which is what I wanted but the waist is huge, they do pull in well though with the drawstring so the super baggy look I wanted is achieved. Maybe try a size up. They do differ though. My old black Amie's are significantly smaller in the medium, but I would say my khaki and navy ones are nearer a large in comparable sizing if that makes sense! I am quite slim on the bottom but prefer less cling on my (runners) calves which is why I sized up. Hope that helps. In fact, it reads as a load of waffle Grin

sportyfool · 10/03/2018 09:00

If anyone is interested I'm going to list my green parka with the blue hood on eBay in a bit. I've only worn it a couple of times for short spells and it's just too big for me 😬.

ilovecherries · 10/03/2018 10:48

L/S raglan tees. I bought all three in the promo, kept the two blues and sent the pink back. It isn't a true pink the way candy was last season - more an orange based, salmon pink. I put it on and instantly aged 10 years - plus somehow made me feel like I was wearing PJs. Would love a baby pink though, and a lemon. And maybe that colour they are calling granite green...

Denim skirt question. 60 is just too old for it, isn't it? I've always wanted one, was always too fat, but now they'd fit me, I'm just thinking that particular ship has sailed? I absolutely hate that 'mutton' phrase, and largely believe you should wear what makes you happy. But at the same time I don't want people snickering at me. I did try it on in JL, and with thick tights and trainers, I thought it looked good, but I caught a couple of young women rolling their eyes at me, and it dented my confidence.

Willswife · 10/03/2018 11:07

TheFormidableMrsC Thanks, will order a pair a size up and see how they look.

ilovecherries 60 is not too old for a denim skirt! Nowhere close! I will be wearing denim forever! The denim pencil skirt is lovely but it hung funny at the back on me. I have got bit of a sticky out bum so think that may be why! I have returned it now but am tempted to reorder to make sure it wasn't just the particular one I was sent.

The neon pink cashmere jumper arrived today but am returning it. It is very neon, I like it but don't love it and for £125 I want to love it!
I also got the khaki chino's which are also going back. They were okay but nothing more than that on me. The combo of both on the model looked fab, I didn't achieve quite the same look!

neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2018 11:14

A denim skirt is not too old at 60. I don't see why it should be. I have the pencil version of the 'mini' and I love it. I think it looks a bit sexy without shouting I'm trying to be young. I have the shorter version as in the photos but if I wear it low slung so it isn't too short. A little trick with that one is to buy a size bigger so that it falls lower. Sometimes it works, sometimes it is just big everywhere. I doubt I will wear it with bare legs but with tights and boots or even tights and trainers, like you, it looks ok. I don't personally find it too short. I also am very careful what I wear on top. Something plain. I probably wouldn't wear any slogan tops with it as it would make me feel its too try hard even although I love the love sweat with the denim mini on the model.

neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2018 11:16

willswife I love the cashmere jumper but is it thin? Any chance you could post a picture of it?

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2018 11:18

I wore the pencil one loads last year, with sandals and a tee or with tights and boots or with tights and trainers. Its a gorgeous wash.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2018 11:19

Cherries I am sure they weren't looking at you. Sometimes when you feel a bit self conscious [ I have been there] its easy to think this and it can play on your insecurities. In reality they were probably sniggering at something else.

OP posts:
Willswife · 10/03/2018 11:34

Never Yes it is quite thin. Will pop a pic up of it in a while for you.

ilovecherries · 10/03/2018 11:40

Thanks for all the reassurance. Will order it in a 12 and 14 to try. It was a 12 I had on in store but I like the idea of it being able to sit a little lower on my hips. You are possibly, right, Never, and I still haven't fully adjusted to my new size either, so I have in my mind a lot that I couldn't wear such and such 'at my size' then am taken aback to realise I'm a completely mainstream size now. In fact, they didn't have a 14 in JL so I was going to take the 16 to try and the assistant said to me that she was pretty sure it would be far too big and I should try the 12 as well. The amount of things I buy at least one if not two sizes too big and have to return is phenomenal. I still see myself as a very big person, I guess.

Willswife · 10/03/2018 12:28

I have just a grey vest top underneath but you can see the thinness better in the second photo where you can see the label. I was trying to get a full length shot but I'm rubbish at taking photos on my phone, it sits at the top of my hips and I'm 5'7.

I would buy it in the sale, but don't like it enough to pay full price!

Hush..Its the new collection S/S18 and we are still loving it!!
Hush..Its the new collection S/S18 and we are still loving it!!
miffy2 · 10/03/2018 13:48

Willswife that is terribly thin for a cashmere jumper (which I equate with luxury).

Laska5772 · 10/03/2018 14:06

cherries I may have had a bit of wine last night and under the influence I may have have ordered the denim mini.. Blush/. I am 60.. its definitely not too old! 'Mutton' is such an ugly and sexist concept and just used to make us older women feel bad .. I am sure that it would look great on you.. celebrate that weight loss , and just think how great you felt with the yellow Vickie which was something you had never thought you could wear..

Am wearing the Stevies I had on in the photo and Love sweat today..really glad i got that Sweatshirt now .. I at first thought that might be a bit 'young' on me but Nah! not at all! DH loves it one also

Also the 'lost 'order arrived ( 2 weeks late!) and the Stevies that were in that were a lot bigger though still supposedly a size 14.. I would usually have a 12 anyway but did size up as suggested but if the sizes are so variable this could be why they didnt sell so well?.

Well ill be returning them of course anyway as they had already sent me the duplicate order.
.
Hush charcoal vest also arrived, but TBH I am not that taken with it as being worth the price even though it is longer.. ill stick to good old H&M for vests which i find usually pretty long enough anyway .

wills that cashmere sweater is definitely too thin i reckon .. and i think the neck is a bit too high.. I really love the Boden relaxed cashmere V necks.. I have three of those now (bought over last three years )and wear them loads.. they wash brilliantly also
if you wait until Boden does one of its 25% (which is often) and go through quidco , you can get them for a good price

Nearlyadoctor · 10/03/2018 14:29

Never I'm assuming the denim skirt you're wearing is the mini not the pencil? Before I order.......

neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2018 15:45

Its the mini i'm wearing Smile but I do have both.

OP posts:
Nearlyadoctor · 10/03/2018 16:26

Off course you would Never . I should have known 🤣 Thank you

neveradullmoment99 · 10/03/2018 16:43

hee hee.... I actually forgot I had it Blush Had put it away as a summer thing as I wore it quite a lot then. I have far too much!!!
Well had ordered a few more things but am returning mostly all of them.
Ordered the floral top - Tabitha? Its a lovely print but OMG the material is so cheap it's like something out of a bargain shop. In its defence, it is lined front and back [not sleeves] on the inside but what is going on with the material? Its the cheapest of the cheap polyester. You know that nasty crepey stuff. It is vile and I am tolerant if I really like something!!! I feel you would worry about going up in flames next to a fire. Horrible and cheap. So its going straight back. Also tried the baby blue silky shirt, the Kerala blouse. It arrived pretty crushed. However that aside, its a lovely baby blue and it suits me but the shape of it is boxy and just not top notch. The material is a satin so moves like silk. Undecided on it. So far its made it to my wardrobe [not in the bag in the box] but it may go back. Also ordered the linen top in light coral colour. Its a colour I disliked as soon as I took it out. Not for me. Peachy colour but not a soft nice one. Going back. The biggest surprise was the jeans with the stripe down the side. The bailey jeans. Thought they might look crap. Threw them in just to see. I really like them. They are a lovely wash and a pretty good fit. Think I may keep them and only them. I still have to see the star jumper in pink. May decide between the jeans and that. The order was sent to my mums incase it was delayed and I wasn't in. Not sure if it has arrived. Will report back after mothers day!!!
