Hi Everyone

Could do with some advice I really want to get one of these when they go on sale tomorrow. I love the bag but really object to paying a ridiculous price on ebay!

What I was wondering is if I am being completely naive in thinking that if I get there at 8 when the shop opens that I may have a chance at getting one? Or is there going to be 50 women queuing from some silly time. I know theres only 30 per store and my local one is getting some so just wondering if there are any ladies out there who might have an idea?!

Thanks for reading and i'll let you know if I get one! Although if I have to queue from 6am I won't bother lol

Spoke to my local sainsbury's today (coz my friend wants me to get one for him as he's at work) and they are expecting queues and if there is a queue they will raffle the bags (give everyone in the queue a ticket and draw out numbers, corresponding number wins the right to buy a bag). After tomorrow the bags will go on ebay and the market will be pretty much flooded. I would think if you waited a couple of weeks or so you'll be able to pick one up for a reasonable price (like £20 or something). Oh, and my local town isn't very hip or trendy!!!

I think therefore I am being completely naive in just hoping everyone who lives around here won't want one! Think I will just get there for 7.30-8 and hope for the best!

If there is a queue you have a chance of getting it as I think the general idea is the raffle (to avoid Primark style riots!!!) Good luck!!!!!! I can't be bothered, I've told my friend he can go without and it's a woman's bag anyway, the big pansy!!!

lulumama · 24/04/2007 21:27

ooh! get me one too please !!!!

twobabies · 24/04/2007 21:30

Primark style riots lol, I never win anything so not so hopeful about raffle odds, but I really would like one to use as a change bag/beach bag/shopping bag and figure this will save me money and looking silly carrying stuff hope from the shop because yet again i've forgotten my reusable and have to carry a ton of things home with no carrier.

If there is a raffle I wonder if I could get dd and dh to queue too to up the odds!

I asked in my sainsbury's tonight, and she said that they were giving out raffle tickets to the first 30 people in the queue, and then you exchange your ticket for a bag. I'm sending my 10 yr old DS as 7.30 to queue up. Sainsbury's is almost next door to our house. I think the raffle tickets are to stop a mad rush when they open the door, rather than having an actual raffle, IYSWIM.c

I went to New York with DH last year and he queued for a trucker hat that was being released from Bathing Ape. I went along and met up with him and lurked about but didn't queue and when the shop opened and handed out raffle tickets, they gave me one and I was 2nd in to the shop (DH got in too, but he was about 10th)!!!! I think a raffle is really fair, and if you take a few people with you then your chances are increased! Go for it!!!! I do have visions of the Primark riots though - might go down just for the laugh (and watch normally restrained middle class women fighting for a canvas bag - that has got to be a sight not to be missed!!!!)

Gingermonkey · 24/04/2007 21:45

evening redhot, how are you this fine evening? autumn where did you get yours from?

redhotdiva · 24/04/2007 21:45

gm do you want this middle aged woman to get you one?????

Gingermonkey · 24/04/2007 21:47

I would like one, but babymonkey has to be at nursery at 8 so I have no chance. I meant to get one from London when they were first released but forgot . DH has a friend that works in Dover Street Market and they had them.

autumnlover · 24/04/2007 21:49

was really really lucky and got it from a website 'we are what we do'. registered with them a week before they got the bags into stock. they sold out in a few hrs as well. I do sincerely hope you get one.

redhotdiva · 24/04/2007 21:51

silly monkey !!!!!

if i can get hold of one for you tom do you want one???

i have it planned mr diva has gone out with his best mate down the pub tonight . best mate staying over, best mate baby sitting dc in the morning while mr diva takes his beloved diva to the supermarket and buys her the bag ... all because he was a stupid mr diva last week

gm you know why?????? hes now trying to make up for it

Gingermonkey · 24/04/2007 21:51

I want one as a beach bag - it looks like perfect beach bag size and quality! I might wait and see how cheap they end up on ebay after a couple of weeks. I'm very pleased you have one, autumn, you fashion queen!!!!

twobabies · 24/04/2007 21:51

Ok gonna get there at 7.30 with dp, dd gets up at some silly hour anyway so she won't mind coming out with us and am hoping my heavily pregnant form will stop any primark stylee rioting. If not, will just have to try ebay, am quite excited now lol

oooh, redhot, if you can I'll love you forever!!! Glad he's making up for it! Silly bugger that he is!!

JackieNo · 24/04/2007 21:53

Autumnlover - me too . It is a lovely bag - it's just remembering to use it that I'm struggling with. However, I do also have a Mile for Maude shopping list bag, that I actually managed to remember to use today.

twobabies · 24/04/2007 21:54

I have had to convice dp of multiple uses of bag in order to get him anywhere near Sainsburys at that time of the morning and I don't think he's realised that it's his turn for a lie in in the morning

OP posts:
redhotdiva · 24/04/2007 21:54

oh yes hes very very very sorry!!!!!

autumnlover · 24/04/2007 21:54
