Hi Everyone

Could do with some advice I really want to get one of these when they go on sale tomorrow. I love the bag but really object to paying a ridiculous price on ebay!

What I was wondering is if I am being completely naive in thinking that if I get there at 8 when the shop opens that I may have a chance at getting one? Or is there going to be 50 women queuing from some silly time. I know theres only 30 per store and my local one is getting some so just wondering if there are any ladies out there who might have an idea?!

Thanks for reading and i'll let you know if I get one! Although if I have to queue from 6am I won't bother lol

thank you, I'll get ordering!!!

noddyholder · 25/04/2007 09:38

If you knew where there were still some for sale would you buy them and sell them on ebay?Maybe this should be a new thread

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 09:40

buy it now price on ebay is £150.00 anyone interested ???? would anyone really pay that for a bag that only costed £5.00 to begin with

gscrym · 25/04/2007 09:40

Are they for charity? I wasn't sure or if it was to promote being eco friendly. I'd prbably sell it but click the charity link on ebay to donate some of the money.

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 09:45

the ones on ebay aren't for charity. They've just been snapped up at a fiver and then resold by enterprising folk. I wouldn't put one ebay tbh, if I could get a few I'd give one to redhotdiva for her hols, one to my silly poncey (male) friend who was almost weeping down the phone to me this morning and I'd keep one for myself. I managed to get a loius vuitton scarf that was the most wanted item last season (thanks to Kate Moss and Sienna Miller et al). I'd had my name on the waiting list and got the first one in to Bond Street. I just wore it and was happy that I owned it (despite them going for ridiculous amounts on ebay)

gscrym · 25/04/2007 09:45

I've got this one. Probably not as big as the Sainsbos one.

If people didn't know the bag was Anya Hindmarch or they weren't carried by a sleb, do you think they'd have sold as many?

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 09:46

Nope, they definately wouldn't be as hyped.

Enid · 25/04/2007 09:47

gingermonkey - you had your name down for a scarf

do you have any children/hobbies at all?

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 09:49

I have 2 children and lots of hobbies, but I also have a hubby who likes to buy me things. I only had my name down because I saw it in Vogue, popped into LV on Bond St to see a friend and asked her about it and she said she'd put my name down and call me when it came in (which she did). I know, it's very sad but it is a lovely scarf!

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 09:50

you are a sweety gm xxxxx you would have given me one i am touched xxxxx

Enid · 25/04/2007 09:51

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 09:51

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 09:52

i would have brought one even with out the name/hype i wanted one back in jan when i first saw the picture

Enid · 25/04/2007 09:55

why don't you go to your nearest health food shop and buy a resuable jute bag with no logo on it then?

charliecat · 25/04/2007 09:56

I got one at 8.18, no local rush now on ebay

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 09:56

i do have said bags like that thank you

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 09:57

Oh well, Enid, each to their own, eh?
I also liked the bag when I saw the pics ages ago and thought I'd found the perfect beach bag (I'm on a mission to find one that doesn't fall to pieces or is made from plastic!) I would have gladly shared the bags with you redhot xxxx

Enid · 25/04/2007 09:57

well they have fantastic huge straw ones with silver leather handles and trim in my local gift shop

no obvious logos or 'cachet' though

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 09:58
Grin
redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 10:00

the problem for me is with large straw bag for my holidays is that i am only taking 2 suitcases ( between 4 of us)for 1 month in oz so a straw bag would be to big for suitcase and the bag that i wasted i could roll up and put in suitcase

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 10:01

that's the kind of thing, but straw goes mouldy, and then smells funny. I'm not arsed about the logo, I want a f*ing beach bag, my last one (jute, from the oxfam shop) fell to pieces. I'm not after Chanel or anything!

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 10:01

So true redhot, so true

Enid · 25/04/2007 10:04

ho yes you can justify it all you like

well in that cse accessorise do some very collapsible canvas ones

redhotdiva · 25/04/2007 10:05
