Anya Hindmarsh Bag-Tomorrow

Hi Everyone

Could do with some advice I really want to get one of these when they go on sale tomorrow. I love the bag but really object to paying a ridiculous price on ebay!

What I was wondering is if I am being completely naive in thinking that if I get there at 8 when the shop opens that I may have a chance at getting one? Or is there going to be 50 women queuing from some silly time. I know theres only 30 per store and my local one is getting some so just wondering if there are any ladies out there who might have an idea?!

Thanks for reading and i'll let you know if I get one! Although if I have to queue from 6am I won't bother lol

right, I'm off to sainsburys now that the place will have calmed down to do my shopping (with my reuseable, arts council bags for life in my car - does anyone have those, they are lovely - see I do my bit, Enid, it's not all fancy scarves and waiting lists for me you know !!!) And Friday it's free bag for life day at sainsburys (but just the yakky bright orange ones, but, hey, ITS FREE!!!!!!)

Enid · 25/04/2007 10:15

gingermonkey - yes I have thouse bags too

don't see them as 'doing my bit though'

mishw · 25/04/2007 11:23

Well I managed to get one. My local Sainsbury had 249 of them! I got there about 7.50am, got my raffle ticket, queued up and got my bag about 15 mins later.

I was number 195 though and when I went back later to do my proper shopping there were still about 20 people with tickets and only 9 bags left, so I feel very lucky.

Don;t want to rub salt into the wound but there really nice bags too. Definitely will not be going on Ebay though!

Did anyone else manage to get one?

got mine at 8.03 this morn
and in the queue infront of me
were 3 men - the first in the queue i add!! - one on a walking stick aged 65, the next about 6ft2 wearing cowboy boots and aged 60 and another old looking man dowdy would be the word if it was a woman,
very odd mix
then a mother nad daughter (in her uniform!),
another lady with god awful flip flop type shoes - how could she be a style afficionado or maybe her slant was the reuse aspect
and me - total style guru
and then another girl - style queen
and a very funny man cracking us up with his remarks, buying for his wife.

only 30 in our store

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 12:59

Well done those that got one - have you listed them on ebay yet?! I'll get one eventually, but not for £200!!!!!

mishw · 25/04/2007 13:41

I forgot to add that the stupidest thing I saw were people who bought these bags were putting them in plastic bags to take them home!!! They obviously didn't get the message.

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 14:06

PMSL at that!!!!! Just checked ebay, there are over 700 of them on there.

littleducks · 25/04/2007 14:07

I got one, i was up with dd anyway so went down to sainsburys 6.30 got a ticket about 6.45 and collected at eight, there was no pushing shoving etc. the lovely manager opened the cafe at 7 instead of 8 so we could sit with a coffee while we waited when i said nowhere in town was open.

The only person upset was a staff member who wanted one and wasnt allowed to buy it. Another girl who worked there part time (student) was allowed to buy one but only as she wasnt working today and was not in uniform.

I think sainsburys managed well, our branch only had thirty.

lovelymoo · 25/04/2007 14:10

Just phones their main store in london and spoke to a very nice lady and was told the folloiwng

There are going to be more available on the website next month in this colour and other colours and in their london stores to coincide with USA and Japan Launches.
She said just keep checking the website as she was not allowed to give specific dates.

Gingermonkey · 25/04/2007 15:54

hermykne - I agree, I shall be getting one! Roll on new ones on the website!!!! Anya Hindmarch bags are very well made (I've got one of the photo ones with a pic of my DD on - had it 6 yrs and it's still going strong!!!)

willywonka · 25/04/2007 15:55

Anyone else spotted this? Had me pmsl. I'm tempted to bid if only to cover the cost of putting it onto ebay in the first place

mishw · 25/04/2007 15:57
