Are Charlotte Tilbury products worth the ridiculously expensive cost?

For example, I absolutely look the look of the the Hollywood Contour Duo but bugger me it's £51. Ditto the lipstick trios - look gorgeous but £60 for three!

I love the perfume but I refused to pay that price for a plastic bottle (not even glass!)

I know she must be laughing all the way to the bank but is the quality of the make up really there?

Mayday that was the most brilliantly subtle put down ever:

Magic Cream - £70.00
Blue Nivea - £1.39

Grin

Lotta drain made me laugh. I get it though

her husband has allegedly never seen her without makeup and she takes it off in the evening before putting on a lighter makeup to sleep in. I find that quite tragic really.

Say what now? Shock

Is that for real? That's no just tragic that's utterly bonkers. She must have HUGE hang ups about her skin.

I think the chameleon pencil success varies with which shade you have. I’ve read on reviews that the Champagne Diamonds one isn’t great. I’ve only used Bronze Garnet.

Never shell out for any skincare that claims to have active products in it (e.g. retinol) but comes in a jar. Active ingredients are destroyed by light and contact with the air. Wonder Cream is therefore no better than any other bog standard moisturiser.

I bet none of the celebs who rave about it (because they're CT's mates or paid to promote it) could pick it out in a blinded comparison.

“I have recently adopted Beauty Pie and can honestly say that I think most of the products are better quality than CT”

This-couldn’t agree more. Most of the makeup I’ve bought from Beauty Pie has been excellent.

I’ve never heard of beauty pie! Going to research this later

Does anyone know if UNOPENED/unused Products can be returned?
Make up assistant 'matched' me for concealer and after a few hours I looked in the mirror in outside daylight. Shade is too dark.

Their website is not working so I can't read their returns policy.

Oh arse. Why did I make a bored insomniac CT purchase on line last night? I've had an itchy order finger for weeks and gave in last night after a traumatic experience trying to order PS4 Move controllers for DS Grin. I've ordered the chameleon pencil in Bronzed Garnet though so shall only take note of PhatSlag. This pencil is going to CHANGE MY LIFE Grin.

Yes, Caroline Hirons questioned her about the wearing makeup to bed thing. Apparently she removes all her makeup and cleanses etc at night, then puts on light makeup or does her eye makeup for bed or something. She sounds vv insecure.

I can't stand the woman so I won't buy any of her products but that's by the by!

Have an eyeshadow palette of hers. Was initially impressed but 2 of the 4 shades sealed over very quickly and now unusable despite doing the scrape / sellotape trick.
That said I have asked for the Pillow Talk lipstick for Christmas. Wouldn't pay for it myself but fancy it as a gift and like quite a dry formula.

I think CT is very emperors new clothes. I bought the foundation and it was shit. Really chalky and wouldn't even stay on. I returned it and have heard of a lot of people who have had the same problem.
My friend bought one of the eyeshadow quartets and the first tie she used it, one of the shadows popped straight out and landed in bits on the floor.

I don't know the answer re the contour kit but I am going to Seldtidges tomorrow to buy some Charlotte Tilbury makeup for my 17 year old God daughter.

She's mad about makeup and really loves it.

I have the CT brow gel, but I prefer the Glossier one.

I have a lot of her products and genuinely like them.

That said I think there are a few duds in the range that I wouldn't re-purchase.

The mascaras aren't great - either of them. They go on well but I find they smudge badly.

I'm not keen on the eyebrow pencil - it's too hard and frankly not worth the money.

Magic foundation - too heavy and drying I don't think it's at all flattering.

Wonderglow - it's too glowing for me tbh to use all over the skin.

That said I do like the lipsticks and lip pencils. All the eye quads are lovely colours and blend really well. The bronze and glow compact is great and I love the beach sticks (I used them all summer).

Other favourites include the creme blush (colour of youth) and the colour chameleon eye pencils - a pp didn't rate them but I really like them, easy to apply, you get a bit of play time, then they set. The creme eyeshadows are also very nice and come in some lovely colours.

The powder blush is nice but no better than Nars (actually not quite as good).

I do like the light wonder foundation but I won't pretend it's a holy grail product.

I haven't tried the contour products as I don't "do" countering :-)

Finally the skincare isn't worth the money. It's extremely pricy and I can't see it being good for anyone with combination/oily skin. Don't get me wrong - it's very nice but you can get other products that are just as good for far less money.

Anyone got any tips for beautypie like must haves?

Whoever asked about returns(phone won’t let me scroll up) yes if they’ve mismatched you can return it!

I have the wonder glow palette linked to above. At first I wasn't sure, I'm quite pale but now I love it, use it every day. I have the Sexy Sienna lipstick, love it too but it seems to have disappeared, I'm afraid to have a good look in case it really is gone.

I've had my makeup done twice at the counter and loved it the first time. The second time it all completely slid off my face and by the end of the night I looked like I'd had it done for haloween. Wouldn't rush back again.

I'd read people raving on here about it so I ordered some bits. The matte lipstick is a divine colour but the most horrid texture; the mascara was oily, cloggy and just clumped all over my face. The eyeshadow is OK but not a patch on Urban Decay. As for the perfume, talk about granny hairspray smell. Ew.
I wouldn't have minded if I'd spent £20 on it all. Knowing I'd spend over £70 was an insult. Their customer service is very good, they replaced the mascara for another identical one within days. I think it's overpriced and overhyped, personally.

Can't bring myself to even try it. Way to much hype for me.
Hate the packaging, don't like her persona and don't trust any reviews of the range (when I read a makeup column by Sali Hughes I almost always expect to see CT product mentioned)

'i'm also not a fan of CT's ethos - her husband has allegedly never seen her without makeup and she takes it off in the evening before putting on a lighter makeup to sleep in. I find that quite tragic really'

I agree. She says none of her friends have ever seen her without make up either. It's all a bit worrying. Some of the product names are a bit try-hard and naff too - Lost Cherry? Hot Emily? Bitch Perfect? It's a bit cringey really

I've got the perfume, and I'm wearing it today. The bottle is made of glass, if not it's a damn good fake!
