Actually ignore the link above- that’s from my email Blush you’ll easily be able to locate the sale items by going through the Perfume Society website

Calmwhoknows · 05/01/2018 13:51

TK Maxx had some Miller Harris on clearance (yellow stickered) yesterday - 50 mls of Pamplemousse or Fleur Du Matin for £16.

Also Miller Harris have an online sale - £10 for the duo set of Lumiere Doree and Etui Noir, and a cute 14ml bottle of L’Air de Rien for £12, as well as other bits and bobs. Unfortunately their postage is £5.50 unless you spend over £60, but they have stores in Central London where they might have sales stock?

BlueSkyBurningBright · 05/01/2018 14:04

I love perfume, but whenever I find a fragrance I really like they get discontinued. My two favourite at the moment seem to be here to stay hopefully.

I wear Tom Ford - Jasmine Rouge and Le Labo LYS 41. Often layered with Laura Mercier Ambre Vanilla.

I used to love Jo Malone what I thought was Jasmine and Honeysuckle. Very excited to get an email from them saying Honeysuckle was coming back, as well as these others:

Some of our most-coveted Colognes are making a comeback.
Exclusively at the Jo Malone London flagship on London’s Regent
Street. From tempting Silk Blossom to intriguing Black Vetyver Café.
It’s time to delve into the archives...
Assam & Grapefruit
Elderflower & Gooseberry
Ginger Biscuit
Iris & Lady Moore
Peony & Moss
Sweet Lemon
White Lilac & Rhubarb
Vintage Gardenia
Silk Blossom
Birch & Black Pepper
Vanilla & Anise
Honeysuckle
Black Vetiver Café

Does anyone else remember Jasmine and Honeysuckle? Or am I remembering it wrong.

MrsPestilence · 05/01/2018 14:43

BlueSky you are not imagining it here it is

MrsM that will be the cucumber aldehydes Grin. I am quite sure that Floofy would love to dress in Viv Westwood.

Blue The Perfume Society do perfume clubs, we could have a virtual one.

BluebellGal · 05/01/2018 16:18

calm wow, great bargains from Miller Harris. The duo perfumes for £10 layer beautifully together (they are the ones which feature in TPS LL box)
Just sayin Wink

Yep Pest I remember reading that the perfume society supports perfume clubs, but not quite sure how. Perhaps we should ask!

MrsPestilence · 05/01/2018 16:54

Done Blue Grin

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 05/01/2018 18:31

Happy new year sock I was just thinking we hadn't seen you for a while!

Vivienne Westwood MrsMac?! I love you Grin She is another of my style icons and would definitely approve of the hair! Maybe this is why the Queen always wears hats though, she is hiding a secret Mohican Grin

SOTD is Madonna TorD to cheer up DS as it's his favourite and he is Not Happy about returning to school

I'm really interested to read about any exploits with TPS/Bloom, but damn you bluebell for that link - I just saw the box with the scented tattoos and really want to unfreeze my credit card! DH unhelpfully said I already have scented tattoos whenever I wear perfume, but it's not the same! Is it?? I need them. Vivienne Westwood would totally get them Wink

The Miller Harris also look good, I'm regretting not getting the bargainous one I saw in TK Maxx now Hmm but am determined not to spend any money other than groceries and DC related items this month.

I wonder if the DC would like scented tattoos? Wink

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 05/01/2018 19:28

Ooh looking forward to seeing what Bloom/TPS come up with. Fingers crossed!!

SotD was Bottega Venetta - I really like this one but it was a bit wasted as I spent most if the day with my scarf on and that exudes a massive blast of Insolence.

Last day of school hols here. I don't know how people cope with the Summer Holidays- it's so tiring!! Lovely day today though taking DS1 to the theatre. I was so impressed I was all for going again at the weekend but there was a bit where the actors get everyone in the audience with water pistols so as much as he enjoyed the rest of it, I don't think DS is so keen on reliving that bit Grin

mrsreynolds · 05/01/2018 20:01

Bottega veneta is lovely
My tiny sample is now gone sadly
The cold I have been telling myself I have not got seems to be asserting itself
Oh dear
Next cashmere for bed I think

OCSockOrphanage · 05/01/2018 21:09

BluebellGal, you are a menace to Paypal account holders! I mean, I should have taken note of the enabling disclaimer, but clicked anyway. So now, there's a TPS box on its way. The one with the two MH minis and the Coudray rose that you have all been extolling.

Judydreamsofhorses · 05/01/2018 22:04

SOTD is Heeley St Clements. Wholly inappropriate for today’s freezing, lashing rain, but I needed something cheering.

I’ll spare you the gory details, but after seeing the charming specialist yesterday, I am looking at the guts of £2,000 worth of root canal, then crowns on top. Four x appointments at 1h45 mins each. OUCH. Thankfully my mum has offered to lend me the cash, to be repaid when things here are more settled and DP is working. (She is v rich, and it’s the equivalent of me buying someone a coffee for her, but I am so grateful to her.)

PerfumeIsAMessage · 05/01/2018 22:30

Sorry to hear you have to have all of that Judy, but hurrah for Mum!

I did Stansted today...sniffed Twilly, which, as someone on here said, is not a minger as one might expect from a hyped and publicised launch, but really rather nice.

As I'd been reading this thread on the train I sniffed Etui Noir as well. Hmm. Don't any of you wear it please if we ever meet up. Grin don't know what's in it but from my gut reaction I'm guessing there's some oud somewhere?

Dd hovered between Noa, the Chance she hasn't got, and Kenzo flower but settled on Noa, which was as cheap as chips so I let her have the lovely set of Aqua Allegoria minis too.

I am now the owner of 50ml of LHB although the Guerlain concession in there is bonkers. About 8 shelves of PRB and MG, then 4 different Shalimars, LHB and Mitsouko and that's it. Not even Samsara.

Oh, I also sniffed modern day Diorella and Dioressence. The Diorella still has enough of itself to be pretty nice, but if it hadn't said Dioressence on the bottle I wouldn't have known.

Calmwhoknows · 05/01/2018 22:31

Cheap, I have the PP Vol de Nuit. To me, it’s OK, but nothing special. It’s a gentle, woodsy iris, perfectly pleasant as a bedtime scent. I have never smelt the original Vol de Nuit. In the same batch, after recommendations from here, I bought the PP Infusion D’Iris and it’s amazing - a stronger version of the real thing. I want to order the Iris Cedre next time. Another success was PP Midnight Roses (Tresor). And I bought a large bottle of Midnight Poison. There have been some failures, though. Their version of Opium was nothing like the real thing, and has an unpleasant “sicky” note, I think from too much patchouli. I still have some others to try.

With Perfume Parlour, I tend to order the small size of oil, to try, and then, if I like it, a 13ml spray, or even larger. What does everyone else do?

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/01/2018 09:22

I have about 30 of the oils and am approaching I suppose the same of the 15ml sprays. I used to only order oils, but I don't like the faff. I figure for a fiver, the smallest spray won't break me even if I don't like it. I have 10 new ones to open up when I unpack today

I agree with you about the Infusions d'Iris (I have 30ml of this I love it so much) I tried the real thing again yesterday and lovely though it is, why spend £50 when you can spend iirc £7! Dd also shortlisted it yesterday but I said, come and pinch my fake when you want some!

Same as you, I only have PP Vol de Nuit, but unlike you, I really like it, was looking forward to trying the real thing but there was none at the airport.

I liked the PP Opium so much I bought the real thing and it's def my winter 2017 perfume.

I forgot to say I found a 30ml of the Bloom mandarin lime basil in Superdrug for a fiver, and a candle for the same. Smelling the JMs again at Stansted and looking at the prices makes me realise yet again what a hyped mass of overpriced well-branded nothingnesses they are. If the labels were flowery and said Yardley you'd think they were OK for a fiver.

I am going to tackle the house with my new illegally smuggled over (prob) Zofloras today. The wintery/Christmas ones as am in total denial I am back to school on Monday and not only that it's the open till midnight moon thing on Friday.

mrsreynolds · 06/01/2018 09:56

I'm also in denial about school on Monday 😣
Do let me know what the PP cinnabar is like! I'm tempted by the opium now too...drat 😁
I've been so naughty already in jan!

mrsreynolds · 06/01/2018 10:29

I've just ordered PP opium and cinnabar
Good grief
😁😣

MrsMacNally · 06/01/2018 12:13

PiaM - I have just Zoflora'd the kitchen (winter spice/lavender)Smile Perfume goal for 2018 is now to get hold of a bottle of S&B Suffolk Lavender (which has disappeared off the face of the planet Sad) but has the same incensey quality as the Zoflora lavender.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/01/2018 12:41

I have Winter Spice, Cranberry and Orange and another bottle of Hyacinth which I always feel is Christmassy.

Have had a sniff of the new PPs. I think I am going to like all of them! Especially noteworthy on first impact were Tabu and Must. Cinnabar had the Opium meets Christmas candle gentle spice that I had hoped for. The blind buy of Moss Breeches (or something equally odd sounding, which I got for the notes ) is an interesting spicy green.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/01/2018 12:42

MrsR, my view of ordering from PP is that it's only like buying a Costa coffee and a muffin, and far healthier...

GlovesAndHatsAndFloofyCats · 06/01/2018 12:55

Calm I tend to buy the sprays as I don't like the feel of oils on my skin. I do start with the smallest (is it 13ml?) and tend to buy the ones you guys have recommended! I'm extremely tempted by the Iris one - it may be my first February purchase! I actually really like the PP Opium, but mine is a couple of years old now and does have a slight chemical/smoky note - I keep meaning to replace it Blush

PIAM what a lovely haul of PPers! Looking forward to your reviews. JM is so overpriced and overhyped, it amazes me that they do so well. The vast majority smell like air fresheners, to me at least. I currently have an Aldi Pomengranate Noir dupe reed diffuser - £3.99 and it smells great for the price!

Judy hurrah for lovely mothers! I hope you finally nail it and 2018 is the year of pain free mouths!

SOTD is Allure in a kind of "can't be arsed choosing properly" way.

mrsreynolds · 06/01/2018 13:13

That's a good way to look at it piam
Esp since I'm low carb ing from monday!

mrsreynolds · 06/01/2018 13:28

Had a bath so need to choose a sotd

Hmmm....

explodingkittens · 06/01/2018 14:55

SOTD is Goodbye Piccadilly. I'm still trying really hard with this but I can't get over the feeling that I've smeared myself in toothpaste - it has a very minty note on me!

Had to head to TKMaxx today to return some comedy trousers I bought online at new year - not much perfume but I did get some nice soap which will go in the knicker drawer for a bit. However, they did have a little box of heavily-discounted Freidmodin bottles, including Feu Follet which I know someone here was quite keen on? However, in true TKMaxx form, it half-open and the Feu Follet was smashed Hmm

Loving all the PP enabling - I've not taken the plunge yet the website is weird

@mrsreynolds, I'm low-carbing from Monday too and actually have tried to start now to ease myself in. I feel and look so much better when I do it, and absolutely love the food, the pull of sugary stuff is still strong though!

OP posts:
mrsreynolds · 06/01/2018 15:56

I lost 20lbs a few years back low carb ing

I'm determined it's going again!

mrsreynolds · 06/01/2018 17:26

My ds1 loves dirty by lush - in fact it's the only scented stuff I can get him to use
It's minty too [vom]
I'm keeping my eye on e bay for some shazam
