Does anyone fancy a thread to discuss the products as we open the drawers? Quite a few people seem to have it this year from what I've seen on here.

Yeah I'm not that fussed about the hair mask - I don't like faffy things! I will give it try (probably today as I've got time) but not sure it's something I'll be rushing to use again unless the results are spectacular.

I'm really having the fight the urge to start looking ahead, especially if I'm not hugely keen on the day's offerings. Too impatient! But it is lovely getting a treat every day.

BluebellGal · 06/12/2017 11:17

The hair mask is fab. I put it on in the Bath during the evening- wet hair, massage in and dry with hairdryer, then sleep on it. Wash it off with usual shampoo in the morning. Be rewarded with beautiful hair.

I have a tendency towards greasy hair and irritable scalp. It didn’t make either worse so I’m happy with it.

Piccolino2 · 06/12/2017 13:20

I’ve been looking forward to today’s offering. Wanted to try ESPA and hair needs all the help it can get!

chloechloe · 06/12/2017 13:26

I like the look of this but with two little kids the chance of having time to have a bath and put it on are limited and putting it on overnight seems like a bit of a faff....

HLBug · 06/12/2017 15:13

I already use this - probably fortnightly - it was recommended to me after my hair started to fall out quite badly postpartum. I’ve never used it overnight, at the most it’s been a few hours. 20mins is the recommended minimum. I wet hair under taps on a Saturday morning and put it on, then go downstairs and have breakfast with the kids etc and wash it out when I go back up for a proper shower. My hair condition has improved dramatically.

Pippin8 · 06/12/2017 17:53

I’m quite looking forward to using this as my scalp sometimes gets a bit dry & itchy in this weather. It’s quite small though so I may only get one application out of it.

I’m hoping there’s a mascara in there somewhere as I’m running out & don’t want to buy one.

VanessaBet · 06/12/2017 19:18

I'm running a bath right now, locking myself in with Homes & Antiques magazine and all my products so far. I have high hopes of fabulous beauty when I come out again!

MotherofTerriers · 06/12/2017 21:47

Really unimpressed. The lid wasn’t on the hair mask properly and it’s leaked all over the inside of the drawer. So not only no hair mask, the drawer isn’t really useable for anything else later. Not sure whether to complain to customer services. Maybe I should check the other drawers first.

FannyDaggers · 06/12/2017 21:50

What do you mean by a second cleanse Stitch? Would you not use this to take make up off !

UpEarly · 07/12/2017 08:22

Although the hair mask smells divine, I’ll struggle with finding 20 minutes to leave it in for. Hopefully over the Christmas break...
Today’s offering is much more user-friendly and has made my lips feel all slidey and nice. DD enjoyed putting some on as well before she set off for school.

UpEarly · 07/12/2017 08:24

@MotherofTerriers you should complain. At the price of this thing, it should reach you in usable condition. I’m sure customer services would like to know, so they can put it right.

BluebellGal · 07/12/2017 08:27

I’m confused by today’s offering. It claims to be a lip moisturiser but it just feels like a thick lip balm to me.

caggie09 · 07/12/2017 09:18

Todays abit boring, but i will use it. I hoard lip balm so have plenty to last me years! Cant wait until we get closer to the end of the calendar to see what exciting goodies we getGrin

HLBug · 07/12/2017 09:53

Today’s will just get lost and forgotten about deep at the bottom of my handbag. I’m getting a bit pissed off - this week has been, on the whole, quite disappointing. Unless things get seriously better I won’t be bothering again next year.

chloechloe · 07/12/2017 09:55

Today is rather dull. And whilst you should never judge a book by its cover, the packaging gives me little joy! Perhaps it's one of those products that is so amazing it's allowed to have full and understated packaging...

Alwayslasttoarrive · 07/12/2017 10:27

This is my first Liberty calendar and have to say that I’m underwhelmed by the first weeks offerings. Have used the hair volumiser which was ok, did like the lippy, have started on the cuticle stuff but probably too early to see results yet. Not keen on today’s offering - feels very thick and greasy on my lips. Hoping there are better thinks to come..........

BluebellGal · 07/12/2017 12:10

I’ve used the lip balm - it’s nothing special. When it rubs off my lips, they don’t feel particularly moisturiser. So it’s really just a standard lip barrier balm. I have Vaseline for that.

My verdict so far - these are not the hero beauty products I was looking for. But the cleanser is very good, cuticle cream has not made a noticeable difference but im perservering, the volumising hair tonic works well (good for nights out), lipstick not a great shade for me and it’s too moisturising so rubs off quickly. Lip moisturiser is just basic lip balm (what am I missing?), Hair mask is brilliant (if a bit faffy)

BluebellGal · 07/12/2017 12:20

I also purchased the Lookfantastic calendar to replenish make up bag cheaply - I opened it all in October. The LF AC is currently beating the Liberty AC. I use a lot of the products daily and it’s made a difference to how I look/feel.

I can’t say the same about the Liberty AC, so far I can only see myself using the superfoliant daily

caggie09 · 07/12/2017 12:34

Liberty and the LF one was the one i wanted since last year! I had the 2 selfridges and Asos ones last xmas. I want high end products i wouldnt usually splash out on. But i got the m&s one last minute and theres only been 1 product so far ive been disappointed about! I think next year ill be buying the m&s one and LF again. Might swap the Liberty one next year for a John Lewis or Fenwick one. Some of the drawers in the Fenwick one have 2 prouductsShock

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 07/12/2017 13:09

I like the lip balm. Better product than the M&G offering last year which was a really small moisturiser. So far the calender has been a bit underwhelming. Not as good as last years.

BluebellGal · 07/12/2017 13:28

What made last year good garybarlow

Stitchosaurus · 07/12/2017 14:32

Fanny I normally use an oily cleanser to get my make up off (wash it off with a damp flannel) and then have a second cleanse. My skin has really improved since doing it...think I was probably leaving half the dirt on my face before!

Today's was ok - I've got quite sore cracked lips at the mo so I'm hoping this will work wonders. The moisturiser in this brand last year is great for when your skin is seriously dry, I'm quite oily so I've masses of it left as I've probably only used it once or twice. I'll use the lip stuff lots more.

I think the calendars are fun to try new brands and products, I wasn't going to get one again this year but then got talked into it by my aunt and DH...I'm not disappointed but not falling over myself with excitement either. Let's hope it improves for us all over the next couple of days!

cedoren · 07/12/2017 19:46

Today's is rubbish!
Bad first week, I say

OP posts:
LesLavandes · 07/12/2017 19:55

Yes. I think today's is really rubbish. You get this brand sample size in Space NK with a purchase

Pippin8 · 07/12/2017 21:14

Today’s is awful, far too sticky. I feel like throwing it on the bin. Meh.
