That will be don't really 'know' - wish MN had an edit button

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/11/2017 20:14

serenite I’ve sent you a code.

Shame about the rainbow jumper being sold out.

Sorry to hear you’re still feeling under the weather shop. Great links! There is a lot of good stuff on the outnet at the moment, but still a bit too £££. Do you have any recommendations for an eye cream. My crows feet need some serious attention and just wondered if you had tried anything decent.

Love that IM coat marsha, what a great buy.

Nice stole kitty. I remember the lovely burgundy stole amber had at the MU last November.

kittyhello · 15/11/2017 20:21

Every I managed to order the jumper from asos.** Have you worn your dress yet or will you change it for the jumper? Or keep both Smile

Fedup your ootd sounds lovely, that thread is great, lots of new brands to discover. DeToujours has some gorgeous things.

Shop yes she has a good eye and great taste.**

shopafrolic · 15/11/2017 20:29

Shucks thanks Kitty Blush
Everyone the best eye cream I have ever used is a Zelens one from Space NK. £££ but definite results.
I’m currently using a Clinique one for dark circles but not sure I rate it - it is tinted so not actually getting rid, more disguising.

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/11/2017 20:44

Thanks shop. The zelens one sounds promising. Maybe I’ll treat myself.....

kitty I didn’t don’t order the jumper, there’s only so much rainbow my wardrobe can take! Think I might wear the dress on Friday or at the weekend.

shopafrolic · 15/11/2017 20:49

I’m such a dick Marsha. I amaze myself sometimes. Can we blame that on meds?

Yo we can

MarshaBradyo · 15/11/2017 20:55

Everyone always a good sign when you wear something quickly

justasecond · 15/11/2017 20:59

Hope you feel better soon shop love your recommendations too. I keep meaning to order that Barry m correcter you linked the other day. But maybe I'm the wrong skin tone ? My dark circles are out of control at the moment and eye area v dry in general. I might need to get the zelens one too as a priority 😦 I think someone asked a while ago about the caffeine solution from the ordinary. I used it for about a month and didn't notice any difference at all.

kitty glad you got the jumper, I think it will look ace on you. My winter palette is exactly the same as yours so feels good to break out! Love that leopard stole too. I'm now hankering for a faux fur coat, not something I would have ever considered, what's happening to me!!

Serenite · 15/11/2017 21:14

Everyone thank you so much for the code. I really appreciate it and am so touched that you'd take the time - I also really hope to meet you ladies sometime and put faces to the names!
Am compiling a 'London List' for my husband who's got a few hours to kill after a meeting tomorrow - so far I have massimo dutti (coat is sold out in my size online) Gucci (hat/belt - wishing 😉) uniquo (no idea, maybe jumpers/velvet trousers?) I've never bought anything from uniquo so any recommendations would be welcomed. Bet he'll wish he'd said he was engaged all day when he reads it 🤣 Any where else I should send him??
I am looking forward to settling down and reading/looking at all the recent links soon - I love coming on the thread and seeing lots to catch up on!!!
And Shop...funny as that mix up was you DO have a good eye and great taste 😘 (But it was funny how you handled it 🤣)

justasecond · 15/11/2017 21:40

London list sounds great serenite I really like uniqlo merino knitwear and the cashmere is not bad too. Also the heatech tops are a winter essential for me. Have never bought jeans from there but the legging trousers are meant to be good. I also have one of the easy care shirts in white that i wear a lot for layering and in the summer, its a synthetic but a good one. Sorry I'm on phone so can't link at the moment.

shopafrolic · 15/11/2017 21:45

Thanks Serenite Grin
LikeJusta I buy merino and cashmere from Uniqlo and their Heatech tops.
Justa not sure re: skin tone. It does say it is for light to medium tones but I layer concealer over the top so you might get away with it? It’s a similar tone to Benefit’s LemonAid which is fab for eyelids, but is a better texture for under eye. For the low price it’s probably worth trying?

kittyhello · 15/11/2017 22:21

Shop it goes without saying you have great style and taste. This Jensen boots are the epitome of cool.

Serenite I love a Uniqlo merino jumper, I have them in a crew neck and more recently I've started buying the V necks one and the short sleeved ones. I wear one of these under them, I hate the bulkiness of shirts under a jumper so these are great for me despite costing almost the same as a full size shirt Hmm

Is there anything in Cos, Arket, &OtherStories or JCrew that you like? Perhaps that's pushing it expecting your dh to trek up and down Regents Street laden with shopping Grin

libertyonhertravels · 16/11/2017 02:23

So funny shop Grin

Serenite your DH is a star if he'll do all that for you. Mine would probably volunteer to have an eye poked out in preference to shopping for me.

shopafrolic · 16/11/2017 08:56

Morning all.
Justa I used the Barry M again this morning and I reckon you should definitely try it. It kind of sinks in and then once concealer is over the top you wouldn't know it was there other than a brightening of the area. It's really good for the £.
I tried the M&S sparkly trousers this morning and they are unfortunately not for me. The 12 is too big, and I don't love them enough to order a 10. I'm keeping the GAP jeans in the longer length (although they are too long). I have no idea why GAP put 4"" between their standard and longer lengths. Bonkers.
I'm off to the theatre tonight to see some dancers from Strictly perform. Will be drugged up to the eyeballs on cold and flu but I'm so looking forward to getting out of the house. Have a good day Voguettes.

I ordered 3 sequinned tops from Warehouse. They are all going back. It's clearly not my week for sparkles.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/11/2017 16:45

Oh that's a shame Shop. Did they just not fit right?

My DH would also laugh at me if I asked him to go shopping for me not that I'd let him. Hope your DH finds some nice things Serenite!

I had a good read of the French thread after kitty mentioned it and it was so interesting. Not sure if I can really apply it to myself, but fun to read. I had already been loving botemp's posts from other threads but she was fantastic on that one. It has got me thinking about scarves and how to make them part of an outfit.

No purchases here, everyone I didn't go for the rainbow dress, I'm going to be good as I really don't need it. I think I need a massive clearout before I buy anything else (plus it's sales time soon) as my wardrobe is bursting at the seams and we are about to downsize our chests of drawers to a big shared one.

Dreamqueen · 16/11/2017 18:03

Sorry to read that the sparkly pants were not for you Shop. I love them, have worn them 3 times since I bought them.

Botemp gave me some great advice on the skincare thread & since following it, my skin is looking so much better.

Blair I couldn't downsize to a shared chest of drawers, but I'm a hoarder and a multiple buyer.

hope you're feeling better Justa.

All my dresses have arrived. I'm going to do a trying on session with proper footwear in the morning.

i've also got a M&S code if anyone wants it.

DryWhiteagainW · 16/11/2017 19:05

Oh Shop you're brill, that made me smile all day. But you do have great style .

Kitty those COS fake shorts are great. My friend has one and I looked at them in store, very tempted as my Me and Em is a bit warm under wool sometimes.

Absolutely second Uniqlo for merino and vests!

Serenite your DH is amazing. My DH lovely as he is hates shops, knows zero about fashion and would get everything wrong......

Serenite · 16/11/2017 19:51

Hi Lib I'm glad to hear you are getting settled and getting the practicalities dealt with, I'm sure you can hardly believe you are finally there!
Fed up I lived that modern rainy jumper and from your easier links my favourites were the warehouse gold and black top (I'm sure I've seen that in a dress too and loved it) and the metallic stokes jumper. You select lovely unusual pieces.
kitty I love the Pat Butcher stole 😍 Have you an occasion coming up to wear it to or is it for nights out generally? I liked the other ones you linked too from M&S, I sent a link of them to someone I know who is looking for that reddish colour fur wrap and she loved it.
Shop I loved the blacks d red lace skirt, the green silk blouse and A Wang pumps you linked - fab colour. I ordered the sparkly trousers and am waiting for them to be delivered - I deliberated between a 10 or 12 but sent for the 10 (unless vanity sized or v stretchy I think it may be the wrong choice!) Dream you liked them, what sort of thing are you wearing with them? I'll report back. I like oversized tops so I'll hopefully like them with oversized jumpers and shirts. I was intending to get a few of the fine knit merino jumpers from Uniquo but was put off that they are small fitting. I didn't know what size to take (or ask DH to get) so I thought I'd leave that for an online order. I have lots of H&M fine knit oversized jumpers that might work. Anyway, will wait and see.
I lived the IM coat Marsha, funny that it was one Shop selected, great minds and all that!!
I'm going to try the Barry m corrector - I took your advice Shop (I'm pretty sure it was Shop) and bought the LM concealer and some brightening powder and I'm seeing an improvement. There's a nice Alpha H eye cream I've felt helped with dark circles before, never tried Zelens.
Marsha I loved those items you'd mentioned from Matches, especially the Staud designs, it's one I'll keep an eye out for.
Lib, Dry and Blair I was amused at what you said about my DH shopping for me. He is very good, I agree. I think he's on his way home with a fab new coat, I left the uniquo things to do an online order and no mention of a visit to Gucci ☹️😉
QueenC I hope you are keeping well, I was thinking of you today and wondering how things are with you.
Dry did that skirt arrive yet? I love a black sequin skirt and that one was really lovely.
