The first one I've seen actually for sale is the John Lewis Beauty Advent Calendar. £149 with a great selection of products.
Ordered mine!

Does anyone know if the £35 spend for the M & S one would include toys? Trying to figure out what to buy so I can get it

Kez it's usually beauty and clothing but I've heard people who've taken back what they're got for store credit to spend in any dept.

It says home and clothing and I was hoping toys would sneak into that 🙈 actually I’ve also got cards and wrapping paper in my basket so I wonder if that will actually count 😬 do people actually do that? I’m not sure if I’d dare

Ooh I'm not sure then. I've got a friend who works in m&s too and she said they don't really bother, people go back with receipts and get a refund for the £35 spend without having to give up the calendar.

I was up at midnight on launch day last year and they didn't actually sell out for ages, I hear they've got even more stock this year so will probably end up getting one for me and one later for my sister again. It's such good value for what you get.

How many beauty advent calendars is too many ?

I gave in and ordered the Liberty one this morning. I’m abroad too but the £15 postage didn’t seem too bad as a percentage of the total cost. Ordered partly because I am pissed off that my Look Fantastic one has STILL not been shipped in spite of pre-ordering it in September . I had a fear of missing out entirely! Then this evening my DH ordered the Jo Malone one for me (entirely his idea, though we discussed it last year but were too late). I think I might order the pork scratchings calendar for him so he doesn’t feel left out. Not quite the same level of luxury but he is quite partial to a pork scratching

I think I might keep the Jo Malone for January to cheer up a slightly miserable month, as it’s really my Christmas present...

For me I like the surprise element and the anticipation of having a little treat every day. And the chance to try things that I wouldn’t normally. I do still have some bits left over from last year which I might sell on eBay to recoup some of the cost.

Not sure how to explain my stash to DH though

I’ve got myself the LF calendar and has the selfridges one last year but feel I need to get dh one to justify it ;)

mountaindweller I have gone way overboard and will likely have 4 . I have the LF one and also gave in and ordered Liberty last night after coming to the same conclusion as you that £15 shipping isn't so much on £175!

My mum is getting me M&S as I can't get it abroad and she's also getting me Decleor. Oh dear.

That's so bad that your LF one hasn't been shipped. I ordered mine quite late and it arrived quite quickly. I had been boycotting LF for some time after having a bad experience with an order and their terrible customer service but then caved in for the calendar!

Atelier Cologne looked brilliant, think it's sold out now - I've never heard of it before, might look out for it next year!

Yes, my Liberty calendar should be arriving today as well.

I also ordered a present for my friend which I need for Saturday to save on postage, so quite relieved about that as they have covered their backs and said they could take up to 10 days to be delivered, but as I stayed up to order at midnight mine must have made the first shipment.

Liberty one is still available this morning ! They must have made loads this year! (not ordering though . I have the LF one and that will do ) but just being beaky!

My LF was ordered Tuesday and arrived yesterday! I'm really surprised the pre-orders haven't gone out!?

Can I ask, has anyone sold any of their unwanted/unused items from Liberty calendars in the past? I'm very tempted but am aware that some of the make up items are not in a shade I would wear?

I think someone said upthread they'd recuperated some of the spend via ebay selling.

Apologies if I 'revealed' anything about the liberty calendar, I was a little overexcited about getting candle + lipstick I wanted.

I have no excuse not to be super healthy now, loads of organic white tea in, nice skincare, went to the farm shop first thing and got kale and salad...

I ordered the Look Fantastic one yesterday, and it was despatched an hour later. Definitely chase that up...

Very impressed with the efficiency of delivery for the Liberty calendar. Mine arrived today, 24 hours after ordering. Now I just have to be patient about opening it.....

I am sitting on my hands trying not to order liberty but I am SO tempted. Had one last year and it was fabulous - I was naughty and opened every drawer the day it arrived, lol.
