Reasonably priced everyday perfume

I love Chanel chance eau tendre but it's expensive so I keep it for holidays and nights out.

But I'd like something new for everyday and work wear. Normally wear clarins eau dynamisante through the winter and eau resourcesant in the summer but they don't seem to last long and people can't smell them on me.

So I'm looking for something long lasting, strong but not migraine inducing, and not as expensive as Chanel

What's your everyday fave?

Well I randomly bought one of rhinannas (who I despise) in Superdrug
Was 1/2 price, massive 100ml eau de parfum for £20
It's in a ridiculous bottle though so I've ordered an atomiser from amazing

Smell is lovely, it's lasted all day

Mozzchops - keep an eye on 4160Tuesdays, a niche London-based perfume house who do a half price offer on one of their scents every week. They also sell 9ml bottles - good if you don't want to tie up a lot of money in a single option?

IWantToSmellLikeAMemory · 03/08/2017 16:42

expat- you can get the new, reformulated Fidji easily. But don't. Not if you are remembering the original. If it's the original you're after (and trust me, you are!) then you need the bay of E.

The new formulation is a nice, weak, shadow of its former self.

FCUK Friction is deliciously lovely and costs about £12 for 100mls of EDP on Amazon

Rufus27 · 03/08/2017 19:22

Superpretzel Thanks for the link. They have a sale on too Grin

Thought of a beautiful cheap scent 'Inis'
I must buy some. It doesnt last all day though.

poweredbybread · 04/08/2017 17:51

Another brilliant thread! I used to wear expensive perfume and have used the dregs of all of them now so will be trying out some of theseSmile

SukiTheDog · 04/08/2017 18:59

I love (and still buy) the Miss Dior Originale. I don't use any of the "modern" Diors. Anyone else like it? It works out as good value as it lasts forever. £78 for 100ml.

Have never come across a dupe for this.

MozzchopsThirty · 04/08/2017 19:53

Good value at £78 ShockShockShock

If I could justify that on a daily basis perfume I'd be wearing my Chanel!

Lila I said the sleb perfume I bought was £20 for 100mls which IS good value IMHO

The new Marc Jacobs Splash range! I have Pear, it's fab.

Katie2878 · 04/08/2017 20:11

Have you tried fm perfumes ..they do perfume that are exactly the same as the original and flowerbomb I wear is only £13.50 and lasts all day ..highly recommended I have not bought an original one since I discovered this but look on google at the equivalents xx

TeamCersei · 04/08/2017 20:17

I know this sounds snobby but I I couldn't wear the dupes or those perfumes from Next or Aldi Shock
I've tried a few and they make me sneeze and even though the first 10 minutes smell good and then they get stale smelling very quick, or disappear altogether as they have no staying power.

I'd rather save up and have one or two good perfumes.

My favorite 'middle of the road/expensive but not too expensive, perfumes are

SJP - Lovely Always guaranteed to get compliments.
Kate Moss - Velvet Hour Ditto.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Stupid bottle, lovely perfume
Hugo Boss Femme Good day perfume.

Favourite, more expensive perfumes:

Chanel Chance eau Tendre
Chanel Allure Sensuelle
Hermes Eau des Merveilles
Prada Infusions d'iris
Molecule 01

TeamCersei · 04/08/2017 20:18

And Flowerbomb Extreme.
Forgot that one Hmm

Nannplum666 · 04/08/2017 20:19

I wanted a new daytime everyday one and remembered I loved Tommy Girl back in the 90's and always got complimented on it. Quick search on Amazon and got 100ml for £17.
Getting tons of compliments which is lovely as never seem to get them wearing my fav Chanel no5 or Dior Smile

TeamCersei · 04/08/2017 20:21

Nann, Tommy Girl is a good one.

MusicToMyEars800 · 04/08/2017 20:24

Britney spears perfumes are good I like the fantasy ones my favs are Fantasy, Midnight fantasy and circus fantasy.
M&S do some really nice ones, I do like the Rosie Huntington Whitely ones from there.

St01c · 04/08/2017 20:36

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea comes in several varieties and I saw a whole range for 12 euro earlier. The cucumber was my favourite but it was discontinued. Actually, I think they were launched summer 2016 but I keep seeing them in smaller chemists now.

St01c · 04/08/2017 20:37

I really hate Chanel No5
I know that's not a fashionable admission but there you go.

I love Chanel No19 though. I will be at the airport dousing myself in chanel No19 tomorrow!

SukiTheDog · 04/08/2017 20:55

Sorry Mozzchops. I meant that because one squirt lasts all day on me (any more would be OTT) the bottle lasts, seemingly forever. Have used less expensive ones which by lunchtime, have completely disappeared.

SukiTheDog · 04/08/2017 20:58

Dior Originale....is not for the faint hearted. It's strong stuff 😄

LoadsaBlusher · 04/08/2017 22:20

I wear ck one for work , get it for under £15 a bottle on offer quite frequently

Or even cheaper is Next Just pink , the Ralph Lauren romance dupe , love this .

thecatfromjapan · 05/08/2017 00:33

I've just remembered the perfumes in 'and other stories'. These are really great mid-price perfumes. If you have a shop near you, give them a try. I've done a bit of googling but they don't seem to have the full range on-line, so you really will have to go and try them in person.

IWantToSmellLikeAMemory · 05/08/2017 10:30

Miss Dior Originale is magnificent, Suki. Avon Moonwind (bizarrely) is very very similar.

ElfrideSwancourt · 05/08/2017 15:11

My favourite summery scent is Demi-Jour by Houbigant - can only get tiny bottles on eBay now but it's gorgeous.
