Hey peeps.
SOTD is Sisley Izia, so good to see it mentioned here. It's a great summer fragrance - very strong bergamot top note, but the drydown is a lovely young rose.
Silver - I'm a rose lover (among other fickle tastes!) and Bodyshop Atlas Rose is really nice - light, airy rose - but sillage and longevity are poor. It's body spray territory, basically. But if you layer it with the body lotion you get more performance, and it's nice and affordable.
I was also a hardcore Stella wearer in my thirties. Based on that I'd advise sniffing the following:
Tom Ford Cafe Rose - pricey, a rich Bulgarian rose and a bit of coffee, darker than Stell.
Fredric Malle Lipstick Rose - again, very pricey, and I haven't personally tried it, but it's a holy grail powdery rose for a lot of people.
Jo Malone does a couple of roses that get good reviews. Red Roses (linear red roses) and Velvet Rose and Oud, which is a darker, richer rose fragrance.
For something more affordable and day-to-day...
Balenciaga Florabotanica is a very fresh, green-with-roses fragrance. I found it sharp and acidic at first, but the drydown is lovely. Green tea and soft rose.
Lancôme Mille et Une Roses is a light, airy, low-sillage pink rose. It's not a wow, but it's really likeable and office-safe.
And if you want something light and floral, but not straight up rise - Givenchy Jardin D'Interdit and Chloe Love Story are both pretty and quite safe blind buys for light rosy/light floral lovers.
May also be worth trying out some Annick Goutal. Lovely florals in her repertoire.
