Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 17:15

I went with cashmere in the end
But! I've won some Dior addict on e bay!
Yay!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 18/08/2017 17:29

Well had a squirt of knowing-it's got more than a hint of vintage Guerlain about it.
Sotd was Untitled -it promised to be a last hurrah of summer, so making te most of green.

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/08/2017 17:36

Chanel 19 here again today. I really hope I am almost at the end of my dental woes.

Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 18:10

I had my crown down yesterday judy 😣
Hope you are ok Flowers
Im not a guerlain fan tbh (except mitsuoko) but I see what you mean wrt knowing

Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 18:15

Done yesterday even

papersmile · 18/08/2017 18:29

I would really like to try Coromandel after reading about it here but I can't find anywhere that sells samples of it apart from eBay and I'm a bit reluctant to use eBay as I feel you can't be sure it's genuine.
I'm going into London next week. Does anyone know whether any stores stock it? Liberty? where I might be able to have a spray.
I'm in London for work otherwise I would happily wander.
I've had a look at the Senteurs website and it 's not listed online. Any ideas?
Thank you!

Pestilentialone · 18/08/2017 19:19

Look like you will have to go to a Chanel boutique paper , try and if you like it be bold and ask for a sample. I would want to wear a scent for two or three days before splashing out that much.

Thank you. I'm so dim I didn't realise there was a Chanel boutique store in London. I'll see whether I can fit that into my trip.
Otherwise, it's eBay. It seems like lots of people do buy perfume samples from eBay so I assume it's pretty safe.

Pestilentialone · 18/08/2017 20:06

There are 10 that claims to stock exclusifs paper

Paper I buy samples from eBay but I do check their seller feedback and only buy from established sellers with excellent feedback. I also prefer to see a FB in the photos (although I know this doesn't really mean much!)

eBay give buyers a lot more protection than sellers so if something isn't 100%, you can always get a refund.

Onenight that bath oil sounds lovely but I have a complicated bathing arrangement involving steps and handles and DH winching me in so adding bath oil seems a little dangerous Grin I'm sure someone will swapsies with you though!

Breaking News - My PP Addict finally arrived and I like it a lot. The initial scent has an undernote of something artificial but the drydown is delicious - I can see that the real thing would probably be more vanilla-y and less chemical? I might get a sample just to compare them. In the name of research Wink

YouAndYourFloofyCatNose · 18/08/2017 20:09

Sorry, I NCed - but stuck with my theme for ease of name shortening Smile

Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 20:38

Floofy...glad you like it 😁

lasttimeround · 18/08/2017 21:01

onenight I'm a guerlain lover and would be interested in the parure. I don't know what kind of things you like in terms of swaps - pm me?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 18/08/2017 22:24

knope I can't keep up with the name changes. How is your crown? I was worried I had something stuck in my extraction site, which was sore and felt like there was a sharp bit - the dentist used tweezers to hoick out loads of tiny bits of bone which were left over, which was horrible, but she said it all looked good. She reduced the "bite" on the fillimg I had part replaced last week - which actually had finally settled down - and now it is sore again, but apparently that's to be expected. Back on 5 September. I swear to god, this nightmare never ends. My DP is getting fed up of me refusing food, but on the plus side I am the lowest weight I have been all my adult life.

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/08/2017 22:47

God, sorry. I am ruining this thread with my teeth talk. I feel like it's all I think about at the moment.

Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 22:51

Judy...you poor poor thing!
Many years ago I has an extraction and I ended up with dry socket - it was so incredibly painful and I ended up at 8st 12!! never been that slim since!!
Crown is ok. Feels a bit weird. £700. I could weep 😯

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/08/2017 23:06

I had a partly dry socket! I actually didn't realise, and apparently it would have healed on its own, because only a bit of the clot was missing, but crikey, it was sore. Given my current form, it was almost inevitable.

£700? Oh my god. Is it a front tooth? I feel so lucky to have an NHS dentist, although my surgery is mainly private. I was quoted something like £72 for mine, but that's the tooth I had extracted after the bloody root canal failed.

I went back to work yesterday after almost seven weeks off - three people commented how slim I looked, and one person told me I looked ill. Usually I go back after the summer holiday with a gain of about 5lb.

Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 23:08

Yes it's next to my canine.
I lost a tooth after a failed filling and then failed rct last year...since I turned 40 my edifice is starting to crumble 😣

Judydreamsofhorses · 18/08/2017 23:22

Fortunately (?) all my problems are lower back. In a moment of insanity I asked about having all my lower teeth out and a denture, and apparently my front teeth are "good and strong", and that request was met with a "definitely not". I just want to wake up and my teeth not be the first thing I think about!

Knope2020 · 18/08/2017 23:30

....at least we smell amazing though 😂

34AQuid · 19/08/2017 01:43

Hola!

I bought the most ridiculous pink minger for 5 euro in a Spanish supermarket today.

It's killer-sweet raspberry top notes and then absolutely nothing after less than an hour. Rubbish!

But but but ...it's Pacha Ibiza. I went out clubbing in Ibiza in the 90s and the cute little bottle with the iconic Pacha cherries as a charm around the bottle neck enticed me.

I'm an idiot! But a happy idiot :-)

Knope2020 · 19/08/2017 08:14

Morning
Sunshine here
I'm not sure wrt sotd yet
Prob ET diamonds and rubies

Calminaqualm · 19/08/2017 13:29

Knope, it was your recommendation that persuaded me to investigate the Elizabeth Taylor perfumes. I looked at the notes and decided to go for Diamonds and Emeralds, a deliciously peachy sweetish white flowers concoction. It is now a favourite go-to for me, so very happy, thank you! 😍

I had a quick, and smallest possible, test spray of Lynx Tobacco & Amber today in the supermarket. Very pungent, but rather good.
