Thanks pest, that's disappointing! I'll have a look on the Les Senteurs site, am dying to try a couple.

Pestilentialone · 09/08/2017 21:18

I need to try the tuberose, and maybe a few others.

explodingkittens · 09/08/2017 21:31

Well that was easy 😀

L'Air Du Desert Marocain EDT
Le Maroc Pour Elle EDP
Lonestar Memories EDT
Reverie Au Jardin EDP

...all on their way!

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2017 22:02

Passive- do pm me and I'll post you the "vintage" Old Spice..! Grin

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2017 22:05

One night is getting the Dior dupes, so that leaves the 24 Foubourg dupe, and the Cinnabar, any takers?

34AQuid · 09/08/2017 22:29

Umm...if you like Addict, you might like Hypnotic Poison.

Vanilla, nutty, bit spicy (I smell caraway), plum. Delicious! I just sprayed twice and am on the sofa in bliss.

I'm a white floral-ista, so this is a big step for me. Addict and this in two weeks....two vanilla fragrances...unexpected love!

Pestilentialone · 09/08/2017 22:35

Is it wrong that undertones of deepheat appeals to me?

OP posts:
SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2017 23:44

Haha, no. I didn't mind the faint whiff of DeepHeat. My Granny had rheumatoid arthritis and her sitting room smelled of polished wood, jelly (from the trifle on the table) and everywhere the undertone of the DeepHeat type embrocation she had to use. So it was a familiar and comforting note!

lasttimeround · 10/08/2017 07:18

Deep heat - remind me if boys locker room at school. Mmmm.

My perfume parlour stuff arrived. They definitely aren't the same as the real thing. I'm a bit disappointed but then again i guess my expectations were unrealistic. Nice to play with but I notice the scratch of synthetics in some and an unpleasant under stink in others. I often cant enjoy chwaper perfumes becauae i smell that scratchy stinky fake thing a lot. In tbe pp stuff its often the top notes are worst affected and the dry down then is surprisingly better if not as accurate as the reviews had never hoping for. But particularly with the guerlain dupes- it's like it's all there but doesn't mix right.

But I'll wear one today - I got some summer ones I've been craving (unfortunately the terracotta dupe has a very sweet note that I wouldn't be able to stand if it doesn't settle but I might see how it unfolds it's sunny today and terracotta could transformthe weak sunshine into a glorious day)

Mrsmartell08 · 10/08/2017 07:21

3 addict has white florals in it.
Not sure about hypnotic poison...i don't think I've ever smelt it. Off to town today so shall have a sniff 😁
Sotd....hmmm I might go bare and douse myself in addict peruse the fragrance counter
Have a good day all x

explodingkittens · 10/08/2017 07:31

SOTD - Nuit De Bakelite by Naomi Goodsir.

This is divine. After an odd and unpromising start (think root beer and burning plastic) this has developed quickly into fabulous, fresh, green lushness with gorgeous rose/violet notes, but there's nothing cloying or overly sweet about it. It's just lovely. Very pleased with this one, might be FB-worthy...

lasttimeround · 10/08/2017 07:59

Oh I've just tried the womanity dupe and that one is good.

PassiveAggressiveFloofiness · 10/08/2017 08:06

Hypnotic Poison is one of my absolute favourites, I'm sure it was initially recommended to me on here when I was going on about marzipan for some reason one day Blush

My Addict still hasn't arrived

Grin at the Deep Heat, I usually have a whiff of deep heat (or the even better Tiger Balm) under all my perfumes. Worryingly I usually also have trifle around too so I do sound like a lot like your granny sirvix I can't PM on the app but will try and get to my ancient desktop later re the Old Old Spice thank you Smile

Loving the Perfumista Venn Diagram! I'm not quite perimenopausal yet (despite the Deep heat and antimacassars Wink) but am currently wearing two pairs of bedsocks and feeling slightly elderly.

Judy I know this isn't the Litter Tray, but you do know The Mumsnet Law that all newly arrived rescue cats must be photographed and shared with everyone?Grin I understand if it's too outing though!

CheapTarnishedGlitter · 10/08/2017 08:24

Not quite ready to share the joys of anything menopause-related just yet but DS1 is often seen carrying round a big crocheted cat if that places me on the diagram somewhere?

The Live Irresistible wasn't as bad as feared but I wouldn't buy it in any size/form. SOTD is PP White Patchouli. I'm glad my nose is too cheap to pick up the dodgy edges of PP dupes and I really do like this one. I shall be inhaling deeply all day and feeling a slight twinge of sympathy for colleague temporarily sitting next to me today and probably getting caught up in numerous resprays. Only a slight one though!

lasttimeround · 10/08/2017 08:56

Might also be how it reacts to your skin than that my nose is so discerning. My terracotta dupe much nicer on my sister- a lot less of what just smelled like sugar in the top. I've gifted it.
My Dune dupe also needs to go - it's upsetting me. I love dune reslly want a small bottle but it's £££. The dupe gets good reviews but it stinks on me. Same way genuine L'air du Temps stinks on me. Free to a good home. Maybe someone else will have better luck

MrsCocoa · 10/08/2017 09:47

Cheap & Floof - our youth wing Smile.

Pest have you smelt the Heeley homage, Esprit du Tigre?

Apparently actual Tiger Balm contains the following notes: Camphor, Menthol, Tea Tree, Cinnamon (Cassia) and Clove.

explodingkittens · 10/08/2017 09:58

Haha, not quite sure where i sit in the Venn diagram - not quite peri-menopausal but definitely had bad teeth. They're better now after £5k of extractions and train track braces in my mid-30s though! And I do have cats...hmmm maybe I have found my people after all Grin

IWantToSmellLikeAMemory · 10/08/2017 11:23

The Tauers I have tried (Lonestar Memories/LADDM/Au coeur du desert) all have that balsamy deep heat thing going on at various stages and The Lion Cupboard definitely does.

SoTD AG L'eau d'Hadrien.

lasttimeround · 10/08/2017 12:32

What's this Venn diagram? I've tried going back over thread but didn't see it. Can anyone tell me whst page it is - im curious

SirVixofVixHall · 10/08/2017 13:08

I have to try Nuit de Bakelite!! I have a Bakelite obsession. Will go off and google forthwith... Have unexpected and longish car journey today so no SOTD as it might make me green in the car.

IWantToSmellLikeAMemory · 10/08/2017 13:48

I was just saying I love the smell of the London Underground (to the horror of some colleagues, and the bemusement of others) I wonder if anything smells like that?

I have topped up the Eau d'Hadrien which was a mere olfactory memory on my skin with PP Colonia Aqua di Parma. Blimeyheck it's strong. Only had one tiny squirt (thank God!) Did not expect a "cologne-y" type scent to be so monstrous. Very masculine, soapy but with that aftershave kick that things like Sycomore have. (did we decide it was cedar that all "aftershavey" things have?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/08/2017 15:56

i'm definitely somewhere towards 'elderly'!! deep heat is my jam Grin i have a chronic nerve disease which causes me extreme pain and makes my joints sore and my bones ache so i use a lot of deep heat and the like. i am usually to be found with a wheat bag and a hot water bottle somewhere on my person and always dosed up tot he eyeballs on strong painkillers. No cure so this is my life Sad

SOTD is Ambre De Cabochard. love this it's a fab little scent and it was so so cheap. who was it that i picked up a couple of bottles for? my memory is appalling so i can't remember who ti was that asked me to get them some!!

Pestilentialone · 10/08/2017 16:30

We are not long home....
sooo...
I had a good spritz of addict - it's that or mitsuoko for my b day I think.
Also tried hypnotic poison...nope. Not for me. Its got a note in it I really dislike - is it almond? I loathe and abhor marzipan (or satans play doh as I call it) so it might be that. I was never a fan of original poison tbh.

Some of the m and s lemon and bergamot scents are lovely. I rather like the smell of nuxe prodigieuse too (sp?)
Debenhams had a couple of bottles of safari!! I was soooooo tempted but I'd just spent loads in lush so I resisted.

Ds2 (8) had a spray of eau savage (of the dodgy johnny depp ad fame)
It's quite nice. Nothing to write home about. He felt very grown up :)
Ds1 refuses all scent except deodorant and shower gel. It's odd actually as he has a much better nose than me. He can really pick up base scents and top notes and seems to be able to verbalise what they remind him of far batter than I can .....he said PofaL reminded him of Whitby! Spot on!
Today he said my new face mask reminded him of the beach in Wales...after checking the ingredients it has seaweed in it!
We ate far too much at lunch so I am off to lie on the bed before a nice bath.

I shall join other perfumistas on the old and knackered bench 😖 I have a benign liver condition, kidney damage, fibro and prob something auto immune but they don't know what....add to that my dodgy teeth and horrendous eyesight and I'm quite the package 📦

Obv I always smell amazing 😂

Have a good evening!
