Morning all.

Sympathies to those with teeth woes. I've got an appointment coming up in September and really dreading it. I clench my jaw at night and its causing mayhem - wearing away my back teeth and causing movement which is making my top front teeth a bit crooked. Grrr. Stupid teeth.

SOTD is Addict. Its grey and pissing down here, so needed something warm and sensual to transport me elsewhere. My Hypnotic Poison arrived this morning, so will be trying that out later this evening.

Mrsmartell08 · 09/08/2017 12:14

First visitors gone
Scent of the day is ET diamonds and rubies...heady peach and rose loveliness
😁
I'm having soup
It's a soup kind of day ☔

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2017 13:57

WHAT is the bulgarian serum? I need an elixir of youth after a pummeling few years.
I got my pp mini bottles today, dupes of Diorella, Diorissimo, Vol de Nuit, Miss Dior, 24 Foubourg and Cinnabar. Hate them all so far. Not helped by having a migraine yesterday so still feeling a bit green and headachey. The Cinnabar dupe smells like cheap soap. The Diorissimo like fruity shamoo. The Vol de Nuit like Old Spice that's been left in a cupboard for twenty years. The Diorella like strawberry shampoo. 24 Faubourg smells like something sweet with an undertone of Deep Heat .The Miss Dior is like old bathroom cupboards and dust, only much more horrid than that sounds. Do PM me anyone who might want some of these as I'm more than happy to post them on- otherwise the bin for them.

Mrsmartell08 · 09/08/2017 14:29

Oh dear Vix. Hope the head is better.
I haven't had much luck with PP either...
I'm not sleeping well so off for a nap soon.
Hot bath before bed too i think.

SirVixofVixHall · 09/08/2017 14:54

I'm not sleeping at the moment either. Bloody peri-menopause.

Mrsmartell08 · 09/08/2017 14:56

I hear ya Vix 😔😔😔😣😣😣😡😡😡

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/08/2017 15:03

i sympathise with the teeth woes, mine are awful and im terrified of the dentist as well and have a latex allergy which complicates things a bit. Ive got to have some work done under sedation so just waiting now for an appointment for that to come through

SOTD has been Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia. Very pretty but doesn't seemt o last long. Still it was cheap so i'm happy to reapply as needed.

The weather is utterly awful here, im seriously considering getting my onesies down so i can wear one tonight!!!

PassiveAggressiveFloofiness · 09/08/2017 15:05

Old spice that's been left in the cupboard for 20 years vix? You make it sound like this is a bad thing! DH wears Old Spice (flankers though and deodorant not the aftershave) and smells delicious. I think it does take a certain type of man to carry it off though Grin

Sorry you didn't like your PP, you're not really selling them as a freebie even but I might PM you for the Old Old Spice if that's ok Smile Can offer you something in return I'm sure When did you order them btw - as my PP Addict still hasn't turned up and if I have to confront post stealing Shameless Neighbours (and their pit bull) again I will cry!

Sorry about sore heads and insomnia people - insomnia is the pits isn't it.

PassiveAggressiveFloofiness · 09/08/2017 15:07

Ahem. Just to clarify, when I offer you something and then peek in my drawers, I do mean the chest of drawers containing perfume samples. Blush

Pestilentialone · 09/08/2017 15:18

HRT works for peri-menopausal insomnia. Try it often 6-9 months is enough.
SoTD is Tea for Two, as it seems to be Autumn. Spent the day stomping around the Stourhead estate. Everytime it rained I hid in my big wax jacket and sniffed. So excited to get the wool socks out again.
Soup sounds like a fantastic idea MrsM
PA Floof that is enough about your drawers Grin

Grin at Vix- I think PP is magnificent for non-classics- there is something in the old Diors and Chanels that it doesn't seem able to replicate- (clearly that one magic ingredient that sends the price up!) My very first PP purchases about 3 years ago included Chanel 19, Ysatis, Miss Dior etc and all were totally unrecognisable. I have the Vol de Nuit PP version and love it (but I don't have the real thing) I prefer the Rive Gauche PP to the real thing, and also the Prada Infusions d'Iris.

I am also menopausal but have the opposite to insomnia. Am pondering asking about HRT when I go home in September, mainly for the aches and pains, though have started on a specific menopause + calcium vitamin thingy.

explodingkittens · 09/08/2017 17:16

Bored at the station so squirted myself liberally with Green Fig body spray in Oliver Bonas Blush

Mildly figgy for about 3.7 seconds...now smells of Shield soap. Not sure what else I expected really! Still, could be worse I suppose.

I couldn't get the supposed notes of sandalwood or rose from the Tam Dao in the end but it did lose the 'musty joss-sticks' thing.

This weather is vile isn't it? Am definitely digging out the pyjamas and woolly socks when I get home. Might try my sample of MMM 'in the fireplace' as well.

Mrsmartell08 · 09/08/2017 17:16

I'm on hrt but lowest dose
I'm back next week and I'm going to ask for a dose big enough for a horse 😂

explodingkittens · 09/08/2017 17:20

'By the fireplace' not in it Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 09/08/2017 18:44

SOTD Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. I'm amazed to hear so many of us have teeth issues! 3 I have been fitted for a night guard for my clenching, which was the trigger for all my problems - I've never been a clencher but my partner was made redundant last year so things are really difficult at the mo. I got mine done on the NHS, but the dentist had to make a special application to the health board to request funding for it. I am like a dream at night between my mouth guard and my earplugs because DP snores. (I hope he never leaves me, I would never be able to go to bed with someone new like that!)

Mrsmartell08 · 09/08/2017 18:48

My dh had septoplasty back in May for his grossly deviated septum horrific snoring
He no longer snores! 😁

Judydreamsofhorses · 09/08/2017 18:55

Mine's been back and forth to the doctor, but there doesn't seem to be a medical reason, other than he's a bit overweight - he lost loads of weight a while ago, but since losing his job has become a massive comfort eater and gained it back. Once the job situ is resolved I will start the diet nagging...

I am SO happy that my cat (newish rescue) has just come in from the garden by herself rather than having to be lured in with treats or manhandled. She can't get out of the garden, so her being able to cruise in and out is the dream. I am less pleased that she has taken to using the bath as her litter tray though...

MrsCocoa · 09/08/2017 19:34

Grin at today's posts.

So at the centre of our venn diagram we seem to have bad teeth, perimenopausal symptoms, rescue cats, and....perfume? What else?

Azzure was MAGNIFICENT today (B* remained under wraps). Need to try side by side with Cabochard. Floof* that sounds a rather high risk strategy with the Dentist? (Remember being asked to select music by a doctor about to perform a delicate operation on me under local anaesthetic. I suggested he pick something that wouldn't disturb his concentration. He replied he worked pretty well to anything except Westlife Grin).

The rain has finally stopped and I can see blue sky.

DS is wandering around naked, save for a liberal application of another LT 5*, Breath of God. It suits him.

Mrsmartell08 · 09/08/2017 19:38

Rain finally stopped here too
I'm going to have a bath
I'm trying to diet
Today I have been a carby twat 😔

MrsCocoa · 09/08/2017 19:59

Anyone smelt the Pharrell Williams/CdG collaboration, Girl? Looks like it's been discontinued and TK Maxx have 100ml EDP for £12.99. A woody violet....?

explodingkittens · 09/08/2017 21:00

I'm sure this has been covered on previous threads but...does the Tauer site ship to the UK? I fancy treating myself to the sample set but couldn't complete the order as it said they couldn't give me a shipping quote. Does anyone know?

Pestilentialone · 09/08/2017 21:04

Tauer site does not ship to uk. Les Senteurs is their exclusive uk stockist. Had to ask the man himself Grin
