still torn bewteen making something white flower heavy or roses......it's getting nearer and i just can't decide!!! maybe i should make a list of the things i would put in each one and then work from there to decide between them

SOTD is MAdonna Truth or Dare Naked. I have had two compliments on this today, with both insisting i tell them what it is so they can get some. i know it's not for everyone but it really works on my skin i think and others seem to agree

SOTD was Pillow Talk for me. This evening I have put on a smidgeon of Lynx Oud Wood and Vanilla. I fancied something pungent!

One, I adore both of the Truth or Dare perfumes. Do you get the mint toffee note in the Truth or Dare Naked?

Scent may not rank high on the list of global issuues, but the standard of discussion here beats most of the serious threads into a cocked hat!

I'm so gutted I can't make the 4160 workshop .

I'm definitely going to goto the Somerset House exhibition next week, though, as consolation.

I've been ill for the past two days and haven't worn any perfume, but just had a shower and put on two sprays of Poeme, which I haven't worn for months, and its cheered me right up.

Madonna TOD intrigues me....

I really love Truth or Dare, although it irritates me that is smells better on DS and he is a boy I really want to try TOD Naked but last time I looked it was silly prices everywhere.

Very jealous of everyone getting to SH, which sounds wonderful. I'm very disappointed no one is wearing the trousers though God, I would totally be up for Zurich, I love it ignores fact that if I can't even get to London and don't even have a passport and can't get travel insurance

I actually had a dream I was at the perfume workshop (yes I lead a sad life) and thought of an inspired note to go with galbanum, of course I can't remember what it was now I'm awake

It's tipping down here and I want to wear my Virgin Island Water as it's July! Haven't selected SOTD yet as I'm in an absolutely foul mood, got date for my rescheduled op Mid August so am pretty much laid up until then and will need recovery time, which pretty much fucks up the whole Summer holidays when it should have already been done I am exceedingly fed up, I even had a tantrum yesterday involving bread being thrown across the kitchen and it's so bad that I might even need to wear Shalimar today.

I'm going to have trifle for breakfast.

Sharini Ambre Essentielle today because it's not very pleasant here and I fancy something hot and steamy. It's a bit strong so it will need several hours to calm down before the perfume-averse DH gets home.

I've had a terrible cold and cystitis all week, so in a shit mood. Wish I had trifle, Floofy .

Antibiotics seem to be kicking in today so have managed to shower and dress, which is a result. SOTD is Annick Goutal Quel Amour. Sour fruit and pink flowers. I've never worn it out of the house, but I love it for mooching around.

Sorry to hear you and 3 are having a bad time of it. Trifle from a ladle does sound an excellent way to start to the day (and get at least one of your portions of fruit and veg).

If you think of your note that goes with galbanum let me know...if it works, 'Floofy's Dream' might be a contender.

FRANKINCENSE!

Ahem. My dream came back to me as I went to sleep last night (as they do ) The galbanum was blended with frankincense (or possibly myrrh. Maybe both ) and it must have been from me sorting out my essential oils the previous day. I'm not sure if that actually would be a good blend, but who knows, I could be the next Coco Chanel Maybe more of a winter one though :)

I have of course cracked and ordered a sample of black opium, prompted by recent posts. I remember loathing it when it came out but I think it's because I love the original one so much. I keep reading about the coffee note which has also prompted the purchase, as coffee and cheesecake is the thing my DH loves most in the world. I shall report back

Today my SOTD is tiger balm (yummy) and ibuprofen gel. It actually smells like I am wearing TF tobacco vanilla

Brief hello all. Thanks for the well wishes. Today was the first day I left the house since the weekend, so things are on the up (having a nice lie down in a darkened room now, though!).

SOTD was my first try of Annick Goutal Songes. Very powerful frangipani and jasmine at first and wasn't feeling it, but the dry down is more mellow and has a nice, non-cloying vanilla and yellow flowers vibe. Possibly something subtly spicy, too - cardamom? Not sure yet.
Slightly reminiscent of Poeme, but lighter and less linear.

I'll definitely try it again when I'm feeling better.

Oh, and I had a cream cake today, Floofy

I've just hit the trifle too (more work woes here ). Couldn't find the ladle but there was a big serving spoon at the back of the drawer...

Floofy - that's one of my favourite notes so will definitely give it a whirl!

I need to try Songes again 3. I always fall for the citrus AGs. Trying to track down Sables having read Barbara Herman's write-up. Don't think it's discontinued but no-one seems to carry it. Please shout if you spot it.

In the interests of research for Aug 12 workshop I'm sniffing away at green chypres. SotD is Diorella - very sadly the top notes are off in my little bottle, but wow, this is still beautiful. Think I need to start a mini-project of tracking down and sniffing as many Edmond Roudnitska's as possible.
