Jo Malone giveaway - anyone know why?!

Got a free 100ml bottle of Basil & Neroli and a free home candle today with two purchases. So did most of my friends. Anyone else? Anyone know why?

Now kicking myself for not getting the velvet rose today! Shame they couldn't have said when it was ending! Oh well, should hopefully get my 4 items soon!

My packages arrived today 😊. By the way if you read the T&Cs it says that products have been marked and can't be exchanged or returned...

...and true to form mine has a black dot on the label.

I'm actually relieved that it's over. I made 6 orders and would have had to sell my children if it had gone on much longer. Still regret not getting the mimosa candle yesterday and was hoping for room diffusers and other colognes today, but I did pretty well

I didn't buy anything in the end. I would have leapt a a 100ml bottle (except for the sandalwood one) if I'd seen the offer on day one but felt a bit meh about the 30ml bottles.

I was shopping this afternoon and the dept. store that sells Jo Malone had a real lucky dip in the store! They had stuff in the little gift boxes with ribbons. I queued up with my DS and we both had a go. In the 10 mins or so we were there not a single person won anything. The guy I spoke to said they had over 30 winners today and that on average they have 100 per day :( Of course just after we left he opened it up and started spreading the gift boxes around, so I might have been lucky if I'd gone a bit later!

I have not even received a shipment notification yet...3 orders for me and 3 for friends (all using my UK forwarding address...hope that does not become an issue)

@miffy2, how odd them spreading out free stuff like that. For a company that doesn't have many offers...ever... it's very strange!

I really wish I'd just stuck with the B&N candle I got early on and order my favourite Almond candle. Bit worried they're discontinuing everything or something. Something is afoot.

Oooooh mine's been dispatched too. Never ordered anything from them before but I'm very excited! Ordered them gift wrapped too so it will be like a little mini Christmas all for me!! I totally deserve it.

How long did it take people for their orders to be dispatched? I ordered on Tuesday but no notification yet..... can't believe op has actually received her orders!

I ordered on the 20th once, that was dispatched early today.

I ordered 3 more times yesterday: 2 of them have been dispatched late today and 1 is still pending.

I expect to receive the first parcel tomorrow and the rest next week (not over the weekend as being delivered to my office which will be closed).

Not sure how many will reach me as I ordered 4 times from the same account and may have been rumbled it was worth a punt anyway!

Mrs9C sorry I meant the guy reached in and spread the boxes around a bit in the pit so they could be 'grabbed' more easily (not that he handed them out; I would have barged my way back in if that were the case!!)

Whatthefoxgoingon oops. Was it supposed to be one order per customer account? I think I did most of mine as a guest and one logged in but not 100% sure (couldn't remember login and was keen not to miss out on the freebies).

TBH I think this is just genius marketing by Jo Malone

they've got someone like me shelling out £30 for a bodywash they hope they like, just because they got a free candle, they hope they like

I have 4 orders, have had 4 confirmations and my account record shows all 4 as despatched.

I bought Vit E gel, balm, Lime & Basil body wash and Geranium scrub shower gel. Of these they are all things I use except the new scrub shower gel which is my treat to try.

Looking forward to the freebies - I have Mimosa & cardoman 30ml, Basil & Neroli candle, Pomegranate Noir room spray and Basil & Neroli 100ml cologne. These are all gifts for family / friends and I have used them all before except room spray which is my treat to myself.

To the poster who asked about Pom Noir Bath oil - it is divine and probably one of my most favourites - you only need a little drop and it goes milky and the smell really perfumes my bathroom - hope you love too and enjoy.

The promotion was supposed to last until tomorrow evening - this is what the T&C said on Monday when I first played and won the100 ml cologne.

I haven't seen a promotion like this before from them. Having just looked at their website I wonder if it is to promote their new offerings as their is a banner going acrosss about Just Because e.g. You deserve it or something like that.

The other thing that may help someone up thread re discontinued products is that Estée Lauder run a section called "Gone but not forgotten " - I kid you not - where you can check for stock of recently discontinued items for Estée brands and buy . I used them earlier this year after I discovered Jo Malone had discontinued French Lime Blossom body creme.
