Ok, am I mad to buy these bags?

Can't decide between Mulberry small Bayswater or small satchel in oak: £850 and £895 respectively.

I want a classic that will last forever and not date. Have a black Bayswater (years old) that looks beautiful still.

Should I buy one?

Just wanted to say that it's not a causal, off the cuff purchase. I've been saving a while for a smaller bag but it's not very practical. I've been gifted some money to add to it and get a bigger, more usable bag.

I wouldn't spend that much on a bag but it's your money.

They dont last forever if you need or want another one. Shrugs.

OhWellNeverMindEh · 11/06/2017 23:47

I want a summery colour. The black looks harsh against bright colours and florals etc.

life's too short, buy the bag

OhWellNeverMindEh · 11/06/2017 23:50

Which one???

OP posts:
FreeNiki · 11/06/2017 23:54

Which bag do you want OP? Or post links im not searching it myself.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 11/06/2017 23:56

If you want our opinion the least you could do is give us links. None of us are bored enough to do it for you ffs.

OhWellNeverMindEh · 12/06/2017 00:06

I give up, I don't think the second one works! I'll just have to be decisive and decide myself....

OP posts:
FreeNiki · 12/06/2017 00:08

Second link doesn't work.

First one is nice but cant get past the fact that they are nearly £1k.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 12/06/2017 00:09

You want a summery colour... yet that first bag is brown? Confused

OhWellNeverMindEh · 12/06/2017 00:12

I'll try one more time

I know what you are saying but I only buy a bag every 6-8 years. I know some people buy one or 2 a year, even at 50 quid, that would add up? I dunno, it is madness but I don't smoke, hardly drink or eat out, I guess it slightly compensates?

Tan goes with summer wear IMHO

So do I.

My 7 year old Longchamp pliage has holes in it and so I sent it to be repaired.

It's your money OP. You can spend it on what you like.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 12/06/2017 00:25

I don't like the boring brown colour of the first, so I think you should go with the second one and get it one of the gorgeous summery colours.

(I would be hard pressed to choose between Macaroon Pink and Orchid!)

FreeNiki · 12/06/2017 00:29

I love the macaroon pink!

OhWellNeverMindEh · 12/06/2017 06:54

I'd love a colour like that but honestly wouldn't use it.

If money were no object, then yes. But it needs to be practical and go with most things, which the oak (it's more tan than brown) does.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 12/06/2017 07:02

Just out of interest OP, why are you after another Bayswater?

OhWellNeverMindEh · 12/06/2017 07:07

Because I have black and I want a lighter, more neutral colour for the summer months

OP posts:
RJnomore1 · 12/06/2017 07:09

I'm not sure when they changed but I've seen a lot of people say mulberry isn't the quality it used to be op. There's been a few handbag threads here if you look back.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/06/2017 07:12

Will it be it a work bag?

LaurieFairyCake · 12/06/2017 07:13

I completely agree about black being too harsh, but I think that's all year round. I never use my black bags now and replace everything I own with navy as I go along.

I would actually sell the black bag, buy a navy one and also buy a more summery bag. I like tan but it's not a colour I really wear.

If you definitely think you will wear the tan then buy it. Are you 100% sure you still love the style?

Chottie · 12/06/2017 07:17

I agree with previous poster about navy bags. They do go with everything.

OhWellNeverMindEh · 12/06/2017 07:18

I'm really not sure I like the new wings at the side?

This has all evolved from me coveting a small £400 bag since January, saved up, bought it, realised it's too small.

Always though a bigger, more expensive one just a pipe dream until DH said he'd give me the difference.

I think I've got over excited about it all.

Maybe I should wait for a new style?

OP posts:
OhWellNeverMindEh · 12/06/2017 07:21

I haven't used the small bag yet, so will return.....
