We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

Blair I love gradual tan. Have tried loads and IMO the best is St Tropez, good colour, thick so you use less. Expholiate a lot and dab knees, ankles, elbows and inside of elbows once applied. Your skin is similar to mine, I use the fair/medium. Boots often have an offer.

MrsMildred I love your informed review, do stay, always nice to get new ideas.

Re blogs......I dip in. Just for styling ideas. I don't mind the expensive ones as it's the looks I like. What annoys me is when you see something nice and it turns out to be 100% MMFs my bug bear. Prefer Pinterest for looks now but Does My Bum Look 40 always makes me laugh, funny woman. Pink Peonies or whatever is funny because she's so ridiculous.....2 Young children and always looks like she's going to a party I swear she changes into a grungy tracksuit after the photo has been taken- ..... Would love a spoof fashion blog.

So......back to the kitchen cupboards............

I've missed so much on here, I don't think I'll manage to catch up on all the posts. After spending a wonderful month with my sister I waved goodbye at Gatwick at a extremely early hour this morning. We had a great hol and since our return spent many hours in town "not shopping" (Smile she had to add a 3rd suitcase to luggage to go home) She could be a voguette.

I've got a cup of tea instead of gin so I'm going to read back and watch tennis this afternoon.

libertydoddle · 13/07/2017 21:56

dry spoof fashion blog would be so funny. We should do it - the 'cleaning cupboards/gardening look', the 'in my knickers and bra on a hot day till the last possible minute before I have to leave the house look', ' the oh shit MIL is on her way over and I'm still in PJs at 3pm' look...would be great.

Have just had a fab day out and staggering home - out with a mate I might not see again before I leave ( sobs).

Longislandicetee · 13/07/2017 23:49

Hi everyone! It's been an eventful few days so not had time to post. Don't really get the time to read blogs but I used to enjoy Ambers blog and very very occasionally I look at Extra Petite. She's smaller than and me and has no curves so that limits what would suit me but i like her style. She started the blog when she was a trainee consultant so her blog was a mixture of casual and business but shes stopped working there now so it tends to be mostky casual. I like her style which is classically feminine although at times it feels a bit too much.

Fairylane · 14/07/2017 05:52

Another vote for Extra Petite here. Also Susie So So.

MarshaBrady · 14/07/2017 09:48

I don't look at blogs at all really. I follow stuff like Vogue and various fashion mags + photography agencies etc on Instagram, no bloggers though, and that gives me the hit of fashion I like.

Stokey · 14/07/2017 12:10

There's one called Smalltown Threads which is i think is quite new who is good for the more petite amongst us. I follow her on Insta but read her blog when she updates it.

I went shopping yesterday - aware of the impeding holiday season and loss of free time. I got some rope sandals from Bimba Y Lola, really like their pompom ones too, it was hard to decide. & some black silk look trousers from &OS, can't see them on the website though.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 14/07/2017 13:43

Hello,
I still read a few blogs but not as many as I used to. One that is good that I haven't seen mentioned much is The Women's Room I prefer to look at Insta for people whose style I like so Erica Davies, and The Frugality. I agree Dry that DMBL40 is a funny lady.

Everyone your outfit the other day sounded very chic. Agree that is too much for H&M.

I have ordered from H&M in the past Lib - it does take a while to arrive but doesn't bother me too much. You can return instore which is quite useful.

FedUp hope your bag has arrived now.

Justa I hope you are okay Flowers. I have those shoes and I wore them today, I agree they are good.

Dreamqueen · 14/07/2017 13:48

Lovely sandals Stokey
My Other stories order arrived today. This dress and this pleated dress Thought both would be good holiday wear.

DryWhiteagainW · 14/07/2017 13:53

Liberty .....today's post would be "the reality about wearing white jeans"...... 20m in and there are stains.

future topics:

How to get your leather trousers back on when you've been to the loo and you're a bit hot.

Baby proof your wardrobe.

How I look at work v how I look at home.

Before and after a gym session today, puce and sweaty not a great look.....but I did wear make up and all my jewelry

I may be a fashionista but DH is a walking disaster if left alone....

Prosecco shopping we've all been there

So,I'm giving myself a challenge not a marathon or anything, don't get excited to wear items in my wardrobe that haven't seen daylight for a bit. Since bringing my turquoise Smython Nancy out for the MU I've used it every day and it's so lovely. Same with my white Baxters today, love these 2 items a lot just don't find them practical day to day. Anyone else do this?

AmberNectarine · 14/07/2017 14:51

Finally an interesting purchase to report. Realised I was lacking on the peep toe front! The platform makes them surprisingly comfortable.

Having a nice day - DH is off so we have been to the local hostelry for some fizz...

AmberNectarine · 14/07/2017 14:55

I've kind of given up on blogs, but one I do read, which is more lifestyle is this one, written by a fabulous and very stylish friend. She's very funny.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 14/07/2017 15:07

lovely shoes Amber i do wish i could wear heels but right now, it's just not a possibility. perhaps in the future i'll be able to wear them again Smile

absolutely nothing to report shopping wise, i just can't get into it this year, everything seems to be in colours that don't suit or shapes that would make me look like a sack tied in the middle with string.hmmmph, making me a bit grumpy to be honest, i have so much access to so many shops and there just doesn't seem to be anything for me.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 14/07/2017 16:56

Nice shoes amber and sounds like a nice day.
one do you have any wardrobe gaps that need filling? We can look for you if so!
I have a yen for white loafers as were very popular last year - but do you think they have had their day??

DryWhiteagainW · 14/07/2017 17:25

Oh I do love a shoe link....fab Amber

Longislandicetee · 14/07/2017 23:35

Beautiful shoes Amber!Envy My heels are all living in my wardrobe taunting me so i shall live vicariously through you! I haven't bought anything interesting in months either! Good luck QueenC!Grin

AmberNectarine · 15/07/2017 00:14

Wore them out tonight and walked about 3 miles in them. Not too painful, though I am wearing the cloak of alcohol, so may feel differently tomorrow!

VivaVegas · 15/07/2017 08:58

Morning!
Anyone else in holiday clothes planning/panicking mode!
Don't need much but like to get a few new things and for me in the heat find dresses best for evenings. Got this Hush dress which is lovely and this cobalt dress which is a fab colour for me. And then this amazing Hush skirt which I love but need to find a plain strappy cami to wear with it. I think I'll get a lot of wear out if it after the holiday too, it's not the sort of thing I normally buy but I'm strangely drawn to it!
I really fancy some black wedge espadrilles but struggling to find any in stock, if anyone has seen any please shout, fancy ankle ties as opposed to ankle strap, something like this: Castaners
Enjoy your Saturdays!

kittyhello · 15/07/2017 09:01

Amber you truly are hard core, fabulous shoes Envy

Dry you've prompted me to wear my white TS Baxters today, my aim is to keep them clean. Re: wearing other clothes in your wardrobe at the MU I bored Bernie with my Style App, I try and wear clothes I haven't worn for ages to justify their purchase, and bring the cow down. Also it suggest items from your wardrobe
to wear together, using different combinations that you hadn't thought of.

Queen have a lovely weekend, hope it stays dry.

Bernice did you see Lib's white loafers last week, they looked really good on her.

Lovely dresses Dream

Perfect holiday sandals Stokey

I'm loving the JCrew bag Fedup & Fairly I want one!

I've just bought some basic v neck tees from Boden, a good wardrobe staple but the V is quite deep

I bought grey, white and black - nothing unusual there

Re: blogs, I've never read any blogs regularly, I would if it was someone's own clothes, like All Worn Out used to do but when they wear something different all the time because they've been paid to I can't be bothered. I also don't want to get sucked into buying more clothes I want to make the best use out of the ones I already have.

VivaVegas · 15/07/2017 09:05

Bl00dy links!

Hush Skirt

Hush Dress

Longislandicetee · 15/07/2017 09:09

Morning! Viva your hush links don't work but that m&s dress is lovely. We are doing a very different overseas holiday this year -a driving one to a place that's not massively worn so I am sure my panic will come soon! A lot of the sales are ending soon so I ought to be looking around. We are actually on holiday this week, but in the UK and having a great time. Though just looked out and it's raining.Hmm

Amber, what did you wear your shoes with?

Everyone, I meant to say, the outfit you described the other day, I think there was a black Karen Millen skirt involved, sounded so lovely.

VivaVegas · 15/07/2017 09:27

No idea what's going on with the Hush links!

If that doesn't work I give up!
