We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

I don't do really bling pieces and my object of lust would probably be this Tiffany necklace that I linked last week.

Lovely dresses lib. It's meant to be warm but I'm thinking I may need a jacket/cardi in the morning when I leave here which limits my dress options.
everyone glad it's a keeper

AmberNectarine · 03/07/2017 17:56

Is anyone likely to be around in the evening at Mu? I might be able to escape..:

AmberNectarine · 03/07/2017 18:05

It is a nice bracelet and I'm sure most of our DH's would spend that on a car. DH went to his tailor last week, so I'm in credit, as far as I'm concerned!

libertydoddle · 03/07/2017 18:35

You know me Amber, I'll be there until the bitter end for as long as I have a drinking buddy Grin.

libertydoddle · 03/07/2017 18:37

Glad to hear the DVF is a keeper Everyone, so beautiful - wish I could wear pink.

shopafrolic · 03/07/2017 20:14

LOL Amber DH just splashed out on 3 suits at the tailors here too.
I'd buy from Boodles too. There is a ring which is 3 bands of gem stones and the centre band rotates. I can't find it in their website but was shown it by a salesperson once. Very me. DH said the other day he'd be willing to invest in jewellery - not sure if he meant it.
First two dresses have arrived (glad yours is perfect Everyone) I'll try tomorrow when the third is here.
DH is in Paris on business so I have the girls coming over for Monday night fizz in a bit.

Longislandicetee · 03/07/2017 20:49

I never try and see jewelry as an investment. Very much for me, and hopefully dd will like them all one day!

I am feeling very angelic as I saw these flats and decided to be good.

One, thanks for asking - the last couple of weeks have been tough. I am spending most of my days sat in all day meetings at the moment, which means not much movement.Sad

Marsha loved that bling link. You are all right, the list bracelet is similar to the one I have which I love and have worn a lot, including today. Still...its so pretty. Sigh.

AmberNectarine · 03/07/2017 21:37

I'm fairly mistrustful of DH's tailor. He talked him into this navy cashmere blazer by telling him I'd be 'purring' when I felt it Hmm

In a classic case of expectation vs reality, I told DH it made him look like Lionel Blair. I've not seen it since.

blingy if you're in the market for casual summer dresses, check out the 50s boardwalk dress from Superdry. So good I've bought in a few colours - I don't even need to wear a bra!

AmberNectarine · 03/07/2017 21:45

I'm really quite disinterested in jewellery. I like a big cuff, like my Tiffany Bone cuff or my Rockstud ones, but I wear the same necklace pretty much every day and usually either simple studs or el cheapo big earrings. I'm also the sort of idiot who takes out their earrings at random and shoves them in their bag, so I can't be trusted with anything of value.

I do like coloured stones though. I'd like a yellow diamond ring one day.

DryWhiteagainW · 03/07/2017 21:47

Shop saw this bag as a Disco alternative but with silver......

Haven't got a clue about which jeweller I'd go to, just pieces I've seen that I love

FedupNagging · 03/07/2017 22:12

Blingy I read your post yesterday but had no time to reply - my reply would have been: 'gorgeous bracelet - double dare you to start an AIBU thread about it' Grin

Great question Marsha; I like quite simple jewellery and diamonds so something like this from Boodles stacked with a couple of Tiffany bangles would be perfect.

Shop love the DVF dress you linked - can definitely see you wearing that.

I'm not sure what I'll be wearing on Sat - if it's hot, maybe a linen dress I bought in the US a couple of years ago with Dune block heels, or if it's cooler, M&S stripe top and um, trousers of some description.

FedupNagging · 03/07/2017 22:12

Forgot to say Lib, fab red stripe Zara dress - love it!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 03/07/2017 23:27

another who isn't that into jewellery. well, i like it and wear plenty of low priced pieces of sterling silver but i wouldn't know an expensive piece of jewelllery if it jumped up and hit me right in the eye! i'm irresistibly drawn to coloured gems of all descriptions though and i'm really not a fan of white diamonds at all. I suppose if i had to have something, i'd want a pink sapphire ring, a big one but beyond that, i wouldn't have a clue what to pick

shopafrolic · 03/07/2017 23:31

Dry I love the ends on that Coach bag. Will try and get to see it person. Thanks.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/07/2017 10:47

I do like a bit of bling (not that I own any really) and have been looking into costume jewellery from Carat London, I want a tennis bracelet for my birthday. At this stage of my life I'm not that bothered about the real thing and can't afford it - I would rather have the nice car Grin

Stokey · 04/07/2017 15:23

I love your Tiffany bone cuff Amber, that would be on my wish list

I also love a ruby, my birth stone, though no-one has thought to buy me one...

Sad to be missing the MU - if i was coming, I'd wear this Warehouse dress that I picked up today. I think the colours are better in RL than in the picture.

How were the dresses Shop? I like the Spendid ones. I was looking for a couple of basic dresses today and was a bit disappointed.

Uniqlo are having a bit of an off season IMO & Top Shop & Zara were like a jumble sale, I walked in and out.

I've just ordered the Boden ruched dress after sitting on the fence, I haven't heard back from the interview yet but have another one next week so need a back up. No codes that i could find for free delivery Everyone.

Everyonelovessparkles · 04/07/2017 15:38

Thanks stokey I had to pay delivery in the end too! Which ruched dress did you order? The off the shoulder or the vest top one? I liked the off shoulder one but needed the next size up.

Are you keeping all 3 dresses shop? Grin

shopafrolic · 04/07/2017 16:44

Not keeping all 3 Everyone
First up - well done to the Outnet for saying this dress just slips on. I spent ages panicking as I couldn't get it on over my head and I can usually get into a US8 - after chatting with the girls the lovely Sleep suggested there might be a hidden zip, and sure enough - there was. Managed to get the dress on, but it is too short, and a bit meh. And then Lib pointed out that the print isn't lined up on the side seams. Back it goes. No way it looks worth £200, let alone the £400 it was originally.
This pink dress is fab. Great colour for me, and sits nicely at the back. Will be great on holiday. Keeping.
This Splendid dress is going back. It's ok. Nothing special. The colour isn't as good as the brighter pink on me. And the neckline was quite wide and not high enough and I kept feeling the need to adjust the shoulders. Back it goes.
SO LADIES
The challenge is on. I have £200 to spend before DH gets home - if anyone sees a dress that they think might suit me then please link away. What I liked about the DVF was that it was above my knee, ruched at the waist so disguised my tummy, and I thought it could be dressed up for meals out with friends, worn on holiday one evening, but also worn with tights and a biker jacket when it gets colder.....

shopafrolic · 04/07/2017 16:51

I wish this was a bit longer....

Stokey · 04/07/2017 17:02

Ooh that Cavalli is gorgeous Shop . definitely not worth keeping the DvF if it's too short

Was just popping back to link Lucinda Chambers Q & A about being fired at Vogue. they took it down but have reinstated it.

shopafrolic · 04/07/2017 19:44

I've just ordered this Just Cavalli dress to try. I spoke to the Outnet about returning the DVF, they reserved this one for me for a few days as it was the last in my size. Then, a couple of hours later they sent me a 20% off dresses code. So like the sucker I am I have gone ahead and ordered. Must be worth a try right? I was in marketing for 20 years - you'd think I couldn't get sucked in by this stuff.
Anyway, it looks like a generic code so if anyone else fancies a dress then try DRESSPLEASE20 for 20% off. :)

libertydoddle · 04/07/2017 20:07

Good call shop, I think it will look great on you.

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2017 20:27

Great choice Shop nice and dramatic

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2017 20:29

Loved all the bling answers. I'm not really into that world atm, so I wouldn't know where to start. But I think it would be nice to have something you absolutely love.

Everyonelovessparkles · 05/07/2017 09:23

Shame about two of the dresses you ordered shop - particularly poor of the DVF one not to have the pattern lined up. That star dress is fab but as you say it is a bit short. I think the JC dress you ordered looks perefct for you, I can really see you in it. I think it will also fit what you wanted - look good dressed up or down and in winter with tights and a biker jacket. I got that 20% code too, bit annoying after buying the DVF dress, especially as I have been umming and ahhing about that dress for ages. Oh well.

Another lovely sunny day here. Smile
