Shapeless block print dress with interesting sleeves. Probably looks great if you are a size o and tanned.

This sort of insanity is not helping.

Some of what the retailers are calling 'blouses' are effectively boob tubes with separate elasticated tubes which sit on the arms.

Fuck me. What a mess. What a waste.Confused Angry

Gingernaut · 06/05/2017 17:22

I've no clue how it was so long on uour arms, I wonder if they are all cut differently. I'm sure the one you were wearing would have been to my wrists also 😂

Nope. I'm less than 5 feet tall with 25 inch legs and short, stumpy arms.

3/4 length sleeves fit me to the wrists.

Cropped trousers fit me to the ankles.

Floisme · 06/05/2017 17:28

See I like that first blue (VB?) sleeve. I think a gentle flare on an otherwise plain top can be quite elegant. Furthermore - and surely we can all applaud this - it can look good regardless of your size or shape. But as soon as you start adding extra frills and flounces, you ruin it. Plus it needs to end well above the wrist.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 06/05/2017 17:32

Floisme I like the idea if some of VB's designs but I imagine they are well cut from beautiful materials. They are also worn mostly by thin, toned and tanned women. I would like an idiot in them - not that they go up to my size.

However the M and S versions seems to be badly cut from cheap materials and worn by women of all shapes and sizes.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/05/2017 17:37

I went to M&S to buy some food this morning and had a look at The Dress in passing. Yep, it's pink. It was only on hangers - the mannequin nearby was wearing very patterned top with very patterned trousers. Confused

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 06/05/2017 17:41

I'm so happy to find this thread. I was in M&S for naice ham last week and that dress stopped me in my actual tracks. The shop was mobbed but people were actually swerving round it, it was cutting through the crowds like a shark in a shoal of fish.

In the same day I saw someone wearing 7/8 trousers with a ruffle in a black and white check. Like a chef had had a fight with coco the clown.

I have resolved to avoid town until the madness is over.

originalbiglymavis · 06/05/2017 17:42

I saw the pink monster the other day in the flesh. It's actually worse in real life.

ZaZathecat · 06/05/2017 17:44

Bravo! To those of you who tried on the dress and posted a photo. Absolutely hilarious and proves our point entirely! More people do it pleeeease!

Timmytoo · 06/05/2017 17:45

I saw this corker today. ShockConfusedI took the photo with the intention of starting my own thread, but joined this one instead!

WTF is that? Is it Halloween already?

Gingernaut · 06/05/2017 17:47

Timmytoo - Where was that?

Gingernaut · 06/05/2017 17:49

There's an odd shiny sheen to it that makes it look like it was made of plastic.Confused

originalbiglymavis · 06/05/2017 17:52

I'm rather loving the mesh running trousers fashion atm. It looks like people are jogging in fishnets and socks.

Bluntness100 · 06/05/2017 18:02

Gingernaut to be honest, I always wanted to be much smaller. I guess we're never happy, pink dress or not,,😂

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 06/05/2017 18:08

Timmy they haven't even bothered to iron that pink monstrosity, not that it would make much difference

ElspethFlashman · 06/05/2017 18:12

Lol at how it looks on a SIZE 10!

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 06/05/2017 18:12

MiladyThesaurus · 06/05/2017 18:15

Both DH and I stopped to state agog admire the pink monstrosity dress in the doorway of M&S today (where they seem to display the really awful stuff). I told him about this thread and was delighted that two MNers have no tried it on. It could be a new MN challenge. Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 06/05/2017 18:31

It could be a new MN challenge

Oh... it could be the next 'ice bucket challenge' type thing, presumably in view of the pinkness it woukd have to be for breast cancer.

originalbiglymavis · 06/05/2017 19:21

Well the Andy Pandy look just won't die for some reason.
