I am short. It did swamp me.

BellMcEnd · 05/05/2017 16:50

Nom I was coming on to say exactly the same thing. I like Demis Roussos.........

Bluntness100 · 05/05/2017 16:52

Gingernaut you may actually be my new hero, totally love those pics and that uou did that, 😍

As for the poster who critisiced the palm prints, I just bought a dress very similar for my Caribbean hol next month as the one in your main pic. I thought it would look lovely on hot evenings. 🤔

FadedRed · 05/05/2017 16:53

Gingernaut you are a legend Star
It is truly an awful frock, in awful fabric and dreadful colour.
Bad publicity is still publicity though...

Bluntness100 · 05/05/2017 17:00

Gingernauts pics still the best I've seen. Im trying to imagine someone walking towards me dressed like that. 😂😂😂

Honeyandfizz · 05/05/2017 17:06

Fuck Gingernaut I was too polite to say it looked hideous!

Gingernaut · 05/05/2017 17:07

Bluntness100, That was me too.

It's everywhere! Palms, tropical flowers, vines, parrots on everything!

The brims of straw hats, coordinating beach wear, purses, beach bags, tops, trousers and dresses.

Apart from skinny jeans, I can't remember the last time everyone from Primark to Debenhams all displayed the same trend so comprehensively.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/05/2017 17:48

Palm prints obviously should only be worn in places where there are palms, such as Abroad or Torquay.

Muskey · 05/05/2017 17:55

Congrats ginger you deserve a medal for trying it on. It really is horrible. I hope you didn't get an electric shock when taking it off

Argh walked past it today in Markies. If I'd known about this thread I'd have tried it on and supplied pics Grin

Gingernaut · 05/05/2017 18:14

Thanks people of Mumsnet.

I dunno, guys.

This tropical print is a bit much, no?

It might be like Errol said. Time and place.

Again, pleased it has pockets.

Damn. No more pictures.

Gingernaut · 05/05/2017 18:16

Oh no. Refreshed and there they were. Grin

DailyMaui · 05/05/2017 18:23

Gingernut I can only applaud you.

I have in the past filmed a lot of fashion. Every time, amongst the selection of garments, we would have what we called "the shit coat," named for a coat so fricking hideous and cheap looking that we dumped it in a bin. There's always a shit coat.

That dress is the shit coat of all shit coats.

(I know a fashionista who had those very RI trousers on earlier this week... She is skinny and beautiful but she still looked like she was about to go clowning in Zippos.

SweetChickadee · 05/05/2017 18:25

keeeerissst that's an ugly frock

and the tropical PJs are a sight to behold too

Ginger, you're a legend

ErrolTheDragon · 05/05/2017 18:25

Photos take longer to upload than the text of the post, catches a lot of people out.

No, that print looks like particularly bad curtains. Its's one of those designs which has me thinking, 'someone designed that...deliberately. And then someone ok'd it for manufacturing and distribution, and someone else actually bought it.... why?Confused'

JennyHolzersGhost · 05/05/2017 18:29

Am sure my grandmother's dining room was wallpapered in that tropical lilies print. Confused
Safe to say I won't be buying many clothes this year. Am boycotting ruffles.

Gingernaut · 05/05/2017 18:30

I know. The 'expert' buyers seem to have collectively gone colour blind and acquired a strange sense of fashion all over the high street.

Gingernaut · 05/05/2017 18:31

On the plus side, if I do find a 'naice' pair of cropped trousers, they will fit me to the floor and I won't have to shorten them.

They will, of course, become maxi flares. Confused Grin

Man made fibres don't dye. Sad

ilovewelshrarebit123 · 05/05/2017 18:38

I work for M&S you wouldn't believe how many calls we've taken from ladies wanting that dress! 🤔

dahliaaa · 05/05/2017 18:40

There is NO WAY that I'm posting a pic of me in it.

But Gingernaut you need to start a blogStar
