Booked it and going for it. My hair looks shit poker straight so I'm going curly! Hoping to look fabulous and bouncy rather than Charlene from Neighbours but I'm very excited all the same!

I need to see this. My new hairdresser says perming isn't what people think and it can't give beach waves. I loved and hated nine in equal measure as a 1990 girl

I'm place marking too, I loved my perms in the late 80's, my fine, limp hair was never better.

^Mine looked like that. I deleted all photos. Hopefully the OP has fared better. I even washed mine straight away in the hope it would drop. Legally blonde was wrong.

I got a lovely perm some years ago. It was this so-called digital perm and was not a fluffy poodle look at all. Lovely big curls. Google it.

Only trouble that I got it in Asia where they are of course more used to different hair type, so it unfortunately dropped out quite quickly. I am considering having it again though, it was so nice to actually have hair that's not flat and poker straight.

I had a local hairdresser butcher my hair when she permed it 17 years ago and it scarred me so much I wouldn't have it done again...well, maybe I would, let's see how OPs hair looks
